He was summer in Australia . He became part of our hot , holidaying , family , xmas-time culture. Most of us were either at the game watching him , waiting for Australia to demolish , or , at home with beers , & miles of chrissy tucker , watching under a much needed chilly air con ! I just LOVED those days , when he helped make Australia THE most feared cricket side in the world . And holy shit , we were . See ya , you bloody legend.
RIP Shane. Brings home the urgency that we're all on borrowed time and none of us are guaranteed today or tomorrow. Do the things you want to do before you die.
RIP legend. As an English cricket fan, we had the biggest love/hate relationship with you. Hated the way you battered us, but couldn't help wish you were playing for our team. An unreal bowler, an amazingly combative cricketer, and f*ck me, you were funny as f*ck to listen to. My condolences to his family and loved ones. Such a sad, confusing and unfair loss. Go well.
R.I.P Warnie .. broke my heart today, to me he was up there with the Legends of Australia like Steve Irwin and Peter Brock.. Icons in their craft (in my lifetime)
The cricketing world is full of camaraderie. Every test playing nation loved and respected him. We all knew that we were witnessing a true legend of the game. What a player and like Beefy, Richards and a few others; what a charismatic bloke. The true greats have an aura about them and Warne certainly had that aura. RIP.
Shane lived more in his 52 years than most do, even if they live until 100. Thanks for your spirit and the memories you left us with. I am now thinking about your children and your other loved ones. They must be going through hell at the moment. R.I.P. Shane.
As an Englishman, for me my favourite cricketer, mesmerising to watch, loved to hate him, but always had a smile on my face when doing so, thoughts are with his family and friends, and from someone who never knew him, thanks for the memories mate xx
I can NOT process this!!! Ive been numb since this morning,it doesnt feel real tbh! I was privileged to meet him in the 90s when i came outta the pub one day in Adelaide and he was just standing there!!! He was the nicest guy.I got a pic taken and we had a 10 min conversation and i will treasure that always!!! Was one of THE coolest days ever for me! #RIP King of Spin... What a credit to his parents. Good manners, thoughtfulness and focused work ethic must come from great parenting. 💔What a great job they did to give such a decent bloke to the world. I feel that grounding helped him get to the top. How devastating for his family😢
It still hasn't sunk in for me here in London that Warnie is gone. Ah, it hurts like hell. I've been alive now for 3.5 decades and haven't seen such mourning for any player in the UK press, let alone an Aussi. He truly was bigger than life and we are mourning over this loss as if we lost one of our own. It's so hard to process the emotions of losing someone with the Aura of Warnie, someone who felt invincible and yet so humane when you talk to him. I hope you're having one hell of a party mate wherever you are. You'll be sorely missed not just in Australia but here in the UK, India, West Indies and South Africa as well. Hell, even my American friends heard about you through your exploits in Golf and were shocked. The only silver lining though is that you lived life on your terms and even though it was much too short, you did more in one lifetime than what anyone would do in 10. Everyone dies one day..but not everyone lives. You lived life, king size! Rest in peace, king! 💔💔💔💔💔
Yup. I'm English, it still hurts. Pathetic I guess really. But as I said to my boy, imagine if Messi or Ronaldo spoke fluent English, had enormous personalities and also had personal flaws one could relate to. Then they passed early in life.
As a pom,I've always had a love hate relationship with warnie. Loved watching him play, hated watching him destroy us. Wish you were one of ours mate. RIP Warnie. Legend..
24:30 one thing that's stood out to me, that i've heard from so many different people, that Warnie's ball "fizzing through the air" - it had so much spin on it the batsman could HEAR it in the air
watching Warnie weave his magic, was one of the great delights of my childhood, seeing the confused batsmen wondering what happened was an amazing sight to behold. With my favorite delivery that got Strauss behind his legs hitting middle and leg stump, followed by watching on TV Warne tearing the English apart in the Adelaide test match we shouldn't have really won. either as a kid you wanted to emulate Warnie in some way, or as a kid who just loved watching cricket when Warne was at the peak of his powers, there was no better cricketer to watch, even late at night when he was bowling on the other side of the world. RIP in Warnie, you will be missed.
I cried and felt helpless three times in my life so far : My dads death, Michael Jacksons death and This. The greatest bowler ever. Can’t imagine what Aussies are going through ! What a man, legend and just incredible. RIP Warnie! 💔 😢
Thanks. It's terrible and I feel so sad for him and his kids and those who knew and loved him eg His parents, siblings, Simone, Liz Hurley, friends of his, former team mates. For most Australians the shock and saddness would be nothing compared to them. But as you know because it was a shock. I suppose at least he didn't suffer a long illness. I don't know what happens when we die and I hope so much that this isn't it and that he's okay. Whilst his death is awful I'm glad he didn't suffer like many people do (although many don't as well). On the other hand it's more of a shock the way it happened and there was no opportunity for him to say goodbye or for his loved ones to say goodbye to him. I'm sorry to hear about your Dad's death too 😔 Also you said you can't imagine what Aussies are going through. It sounds like you do have a good idea because it sounds like you a fan of his too even if he wasn't bowling for your team. Lots of people around the world thought he was great and he was a light in the world who wasn't perfect let's be honest and made lots of mistakes which sadly meant he never got to be the Australian Captain but he was a lovely guy, an amazing bowler and someone who made life more interesting and enjoyable because of he who he was. He was so likeable and he did broaden the appeal of the game of cricket. There were people who watched the game just to see him bowling. There were lots of kids who who spent hours learning or trying to learn the art of leg spin. Cricket isn't as fast moving as a lot of other games and it can be seen as boring by some. Although plenty of others love it and still would love it even without any spin bowling spin bowling adds something extra to it and more variety. I'm someone who doesn't watch a lot of cricket but I did sometimes watch Shane Warne bowling. When he retired from The Australian Team I was surprised and disappointed that he didn't keep going as long as he could. And I do wish he was still playing although of coarse he would have had to retire years ago as no one can keep play forever. But now all we've got are the memories and videos and audio and photos. The world keeps going and we have to go on without those we've lost such as Warnie and it's sad and it feels unfair and not right. Unfortunately we can't change what's happened. I want to think of something really great to say but I can't think of what to say. Anyway my he rest in peace. He's defined missed already and he always will. It's just so sad. But what can you do? 😥
Met him once at a Port Melbourne v’s Springvale semi final in the VFA back in about 96, had a chat with him buying a beer at the bar, asked me for a ciggy, I said no worries mate, he bought me a pint of beer, he was draped in gold looking like a million$, he still gave me about 10 mins of his time, I was in awe, he was just himself, RIP mate, I friggen love the memories he gave us, how many times were Australia in trouble and I’d think, Jesus bring on Warnie
The 'chips and bread rolls' reminded me of the only time I ever saw Warnie off the field. It was around the Pakistan test at the Gabba in '99. Warnie was at a restaurant/bar overlooking the Queen St mall. He had a plate of lasagne and another with a pie and a mountain of chips. Edit: By the by, Warnie smacked 86 in that match.
That there (plus the ciggies) probably will end up being the cause of his heart attack, rather than all the f..wits spouting the vaccine caused his death theories.
@@wayneperry7413 It's a measure of how obsessed they are with their counter-narrative that it's way more important to mention Covid/vaccines than it is to wait 24 hours and pay at least some respect to the man.

Normally when famous people pass away I don’t get that sad. This one is different. This one hurts. Badly. He was one of my favourite players. I’m an England fan and he was the main reason why we didn’t win the Ashes for 18 years. I’m gutted and still shocked. What a terrible day it was. With Rod Marsh as well. RIP 2 legends.

Warnie changed cricket in that people were drawn to watch him play like know other player I've ever seen, he had that magnetism in his game and the way he just carried himself on the field. I feel very fortunate to have seen him play a few times live and a hell of a lot on TV, I guess what I'm trying to say is he made the game great just by playing it.
Me too . You hear these things about ex cricketers dying . That feeling that he is never gonna be seen on a cricket field actually hit me . Made me feel numb
Magical Bowler, always the differentiating factor in any match, hats off to the leg spinner Shane Warne! Probably another world is in desperate need of a leggie, RIP!
RIP Warnie. He made spin cool again, would always race to the TV when he was bowling, particularly to England, South Africa and thinking the next ball is going to gettem.....
I hope and pray to Allah that Shane Warne has at least once said Kalima and Allah can give him Paradise as we all know how a wonderful human being he was. heart felt condolence for his family and loved ones

There is a brilliant photo of them side by side... would have loved to have had a cricket convo with them both.
Loved your cricket. Your bowling was magical while batsman saw stars. Great guy. May God bless your soul to rest in peace Warne. 🙏
Feels so surreal at first I was like oh isn't that sad but now I'm like wow Shane Warne dead wtf
Well said
It's hard to believe...feel like I've lost a friend I grew up with and admired
Me too . You hear these things about ex cricketers dying . That feeling that he is never gonna be seen on a cricket field actually hit me . Made me feel numb

A one off and we will never see his like again. Well played Shane Warne, thank you so much. Now, as to the future..... I don't think where you are that they will be all that good picking your flipper or even the googly. And no way will they be able to play that ripping leg break. Rest in Peace Warnie.
A True Cricketing Magician!!!.........We were Lucky he was in the Australian Team........and not the opposition :)
