    I'm an old dog who's only ever done novist hand sewing and mid level crotchet. I just got a brother se 400 about 3 weeks ago. I've read hundreds of pages and have watched over 1 K videos.
    I'm a bit miffed at you tube for not leading me to you wayyyy sooner yet so grateful it finally did.
    This was the most comprehensive, understandable tutorial on so many of the things I need to and have been trying doggedly to understand all in one video.
    I hope you know how appreciated you are! 🥰

    Excellent presentation of good infirmation. Nice speaking skills: no ums-ahs, no repeating endlessly, clear ennunciation. Great hints. Awareness of observer issues, ie, cloror choices. Thank you for a real learning experience. Are you a former teacher?

      Thanks so much! Actually former computer programmer. But when I owned Cactus Punch, I was a guest on Martha's Sewing Room (Martha Pullen) and Keeping the World Sewing with Sue Hausmann and I learned a few basics of working on camera. Still makes me nervous.

    Your "mind-mapping" use of physics, experience. comprehensive demo is better than any other
    presentation because you'll give us disaster proofing as it applies to a sewist! WOW!!!

    Wonderful video! Learned so much watching this - at least 2-3 times. You're experienced enough that this doesn't happen to you, but sometimes I forget to check my bobbin or misjudge how much thread is left. So how would you address running out of bobbin thread while stitching out a FSL design? Thank you!

    can you emb more than one in the big hoop?

    • @lindeegoodall2426
      @lindeegoodall2426 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can but I don't usually do that because registration is so critical for lace. The satin columns are narrow and generally have multiple passes of runs underneath. If your stabilizer is stable, then those under runs (travel and underlay) can "fall out" and be exposed.

    I’m going to try making ‘book marks’ for friends for Christmas… I’m using my 5x7 hoop-do you recommend I double the stabilizer? How do you know when to do that and when not to…

    • @LindeeGVideos
      @LindeeGVideos  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The only way to know for sure is to try it with one layer and see what happens. I'd definitely use tape to keep it sure and possibly pins inserted into the stabilizer where it come out of the hoop. (Not shown in video).

    I just bought my first freestanding lace patterns and am now confident enough to try them out - wish me luck! Great video, Lindee. Do you have instructional videos for digitizing lace? Ultimately that is what I would like to do.

    • @LindeeGVideos
      @LindeeGVideos  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! No videos on digitizing lace. If you do it the way I do for most of mine it's quite involved. However, if you do the "instant lace" approach I showed, it's much easier. Basically if you watch designs stitch and you know basic digitizing, you can figure out how any design was digitized.

    I enjoyed and learned a lot from this video. And I thought I knew how to fsl well, :). You talk about using 2 threads in the machine. I tried that but one of the threads gets loopy on top. Is there a trick? I have a brother dream machine and it looks like you are embroidering on a brother or babylock. Thank you.

    • @LindeeGVideos
      @LindeeGVideos  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The trick is to make sure they get seated in the tension discs properly. I actually haven't done 2 threads on this machine but have on others. You might check with your dealer.

    I appreciate all this info. I seriously disagree about your information on badge master. I have had excellent results using it. I did a 3D design where there is underlay and 3 (three) layers of satin without a single misstep. I suspect the badge master you have in your possession is too old. I keep my badge well packaged and it stays soft. When it hasn’t been wrapped, it is brittle and does tear. Badge master is actually cheaper than the other water soluble items because you only need one layer. With the others requiring multiple layers.
