    I have this amp and I have to say it’s amazing. I love it! Like you said the second blackface is the sweet spot setting on the drive channel. But also, for my 50s fender Tele, the 3rd blackface setting (with compression) is perfect for that midrange drive and crunch tone. I guess it depends on what guitar you’re playing. I think with humbuckers the 3 setting might work best as well. This amp is also the perfect pedal platform. Pedals sound awesome through the effects loop.I honestly don’t know why the champion 100 doesn’t get more Love!

      100% agree. It’s a super solid amp. And, for $399, it’s legitimately hard to beat. I just hope that Fender doesn’t abandon the Champion series now that they’re releasing more of the Tone Masters.

      @@walshnstuff4872 That’s my fear as well. I love the super affordability of these Amps for those of us on a budget. It makes music and creativity very accessible.

      Still for sale, and plenty of them used around for next to nothing, usually around £150.

      I must admit that I am a Fender Champion addict. Beside the Champion 100, I also have the 20W and 40W versions. They all have the same stereo DSP inside, so if using the headphones output for connecting to another amp, the Champion 20 will do it fine.

  • @erikas6874
    @erikas6874 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    I have this amp too and I'm loving it. I just want to mention that the two speakers are connected together and it's a mono amp. But - if you connect headphones or just an external amp to the headphones output, the DSP-processor inside is in fact in stereo. Not all effects, but some as e.g. flanger.

    • @RetroPlus
      @RetroPlus ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I really wish they made the speakers stereo, big missed opportunity to add that as an option imo

      yeah got mine for 100 pound absolute bargain, and great for gigs up to 250ish ppl the effects are really nice too, pretty much defeating the use for a pedal until you want a certain tone or you get to a intermediate tier

    You’re playing these settings with a HB, single coil guitar. It all depends how you have your gain settings…plus the clean setting for this amp is smoking for rockabilly. But seeing as how you played one chord for each setting…I’m guessing you’re not going to give rockabilly a shot. Not trying to be a troll, but give your 2,000 viewers the truth about this amp, which is you can take it anywhere and get just about any tone from it. You’re reviewing half the amp. And by the way, I own a beautiful boutique tube amp, and I proclaim that I own this Champion 100 because I bought it with my hard earned money. It’s my first fender amp and I’ve been playing for years. Im proud to own it. Just saying. I reviewed this and didn’t speak a single word the whole time. My opinion doesn’t matter…the tones do.

    • @walshnstuff4872
      @walshnstuff4872  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Not opposed to rockabilly. But, if I go that route, I go with a tube amp and a guitar a 24 3/4 scale length and P90s. And, you are absolutely correct - one can get just about any tone they want with this amp. It’s incredibly versatile.

      @@walshnstuff4872 agreed. I started using my Bugera V22 in a wet/dry configuration with my Champion 100. I love it. Gives me all the amazing tones I’m looking for. Give it a shot, maybe. 😃

    Dude, good review, I liked the way you explained what the amp does. But why do people in the comments jump on the reviewer for every little thing, like they run the company? If someone went on Fender's channel, and said the amp's 'no good, Fender wouldn't throw back any heat at all! 😂

    How would you use a ns-2 noise suppression pedal with this amp?

    • @walshnstuff4872
      @walshnstuff4872  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Honestly, no clue. I’m not even sure you would need to, for what this amp does. The only time I use a suppressor/gate is when I go full-on metalcore. And, I don’t use this amp for that.

    Just a note: that crazy buzz has nothing to do with the amp itself. I have a Champion 100 and it's quiet. I blame his guitar for that sound.
