  • This week we got to play with the SDI E-Click system and we were blown away. I you want to add the extra performance to your truck without a HUGE price tag, look no further than this system. Dont have live vales, no problem. The system can add live valves to just about any truck out there. Most Ford trucks already supported, all Gen2s supported. Gen1 just tested and they are working on kits. and so much more.

    I have been on a binge watching the channel from the first episode till now over the last 3 weeks and have learned so much! Thank you so much for the great information! This latest episode was wonderfully done. All this has taken my ideas of what to do with my Raptor in a completely different direction than I use to think. Getting Take Off Live Valve's revalved at SDI and retrofitting my Gen1 with this. Excited to see the results, speciallly for my dual purpose overland and baja style runs. Having the ability to fine tune the shocks for this, is going to be awesome! Can't wait! By the way, I heard that you offered @TheWhalen to shake out our bed rack! Gen1 option will be order-able soon. But you will need to replace the front shock bucket (KHC makes a kit) and you will need take off shocks. Take off shocks may also need the solenoid too. SDI can help you with the system, and the solenoids. They are still planning take off shocks but plenty around still for sale.

    Pretty interesting tech. It’s the future. Icon just releasing their (CDEV) this weekend. It collects information at 1000Xs per second. Would like to see a side by side of two but I imagine it will be awhile before someone has a full ICON (CDEV)kit in the wild.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I saw that too and saw a few things that would worry me. Eclick has a 8 axis sensor, while icon has 6 axis.
      Icon claims 1000 calculations, but their ecu and sensor are much smaller and combined. Either the sensor is much smaller and not as accurate, or there is something up with the icon system.
      The sensor is key to the performance of these systems. It’s why the stock systems are so slow. Icons sensors and ecu combined makes me thing they are using a much smaller sensor.
      Lastly, the sensor location. E click made a big deal about mounting the sensor as close to center as possible to get the most accurate reading of what the truck is doing. Icon put their sensor at the front. Near the radiator. Accuracy and heat are going to be a problem for the icon system.
      One more thing. IPhone controlled kind of sucks. It should have a dedicated controller. Last thing I need is to wait for a connection or not have access to my trail maps just so I could see what it’s doing or make a change.

    • @flameco33
      @flameco33 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tons of plans and we talking to him about on the video. Right now they are working on Gen1 raptors and tacomas. They also working on a way to add LV to any shock with a remote reservoir.
      They have looked at the TRX, BUT the stock shocks cannot be supported. The lines feeding the reservoir are too small and don’t allow enough oil to move thru to make a difference with their system. Major changes to the shocks or new shocks would be needed to improve the TRX.

  • @Roger-bl5pb
    @Roger-bl5pb ปีที่แล้ว

    i think im missing something fundamental. How does this not affect the stock valves? I thought the Raptor modes change its own live valve?

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  ปีที่แล้ว

      So I think you need to rewatch the video again.
      This system does not replace the stock valves on the shocks. It takes over control of them, speeds them up, and applies SDIs algorithms that improves the performance of the truck.
      If you look at the side by side clips of a stock Raptor and then the SDI controlled raptor and the performance gains are HUGE. Truck is more level, less rebound, and can run faster over obstacles.
      So I think you really should watch the video clips of the runs side by side. And then watch a follow up video where we showed that stock shocks with SDIs Eclick outperform the fox FRS a shocks

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad

      You should actually watch the video then.
      2018 Raptor that looked better than all the trucks here did not have live valves from the factory. They added them and are controlling them with SDIs e-click system.
      A stock F150 (2015-2020) can use this system and they confirmed that 2009-2014 can also. All you need is the system, a set of take off live valves. Gen1 raptors will also need KHC shock buckets. Ford F150s will need the new shock bucket, take off Raptor suspension, rear shock mount reinforcement or a mid travel kit to support the live valves.
      So it’s doable. And we talked about it several times in the video.

      You can’t just take a live valve shock from the raptor and put it into an F150. Shock bucket is too short, stock suspension is not wide enough, and the frame needs some reinforcement.
      You basically need the arms, spindle, and everything off a Raptor, a new shock bucket from KHC, and the rear shock mounts need to be reinforced. It’s a lot of work as no one really makes an F-150 specific live valve shock yet.

      Oh ok. Looks really good. I’m just trying to figure how to edit

      Find a software you like, like premier pro, or Final Cut Pro and just start practicing. I use Final Cut Pro. And it’s taken me years to figure out my workflow and I still have a lot to learn.

    Nothing really to add, besides just how much a difference quality shock tuning can make.

      Agreed. Shock tuning combined with this system really wakes up the live valve to what it should have been from the factory. SDI is showing everyone what’s possible.

      This is SDI and they are a manufacturer based out of Lake Elsinore. They don’t do installs unfortunately.

      @@KeepItDirtyOffRoad thanks for the reply. I was split between building a new Mohave and a used Raptor. I’m looking at a 2019 raptor now.

      Do yourself a favor man and pick the raptor. Way more versatile platform, it comfortable, it’s has great power, and is capable out of the box with no mods. Takes a lot to take a Mojave and go rock crawling and be fun. We had a JL for a while and I hated driving it.

      @@KeepItDirtyOffRoad i agree. I was looking at the Mojave to build into a desert runner. I was going to add a supercharger and upgrade the suspension. It looks like the raptors are finally coming down in price. Raptors are better out of the box!

      🤣🤣 the system is solid. But like anything else. With more capability comes more maintenance. So I would keep a close eye on ball joint wear like a mid travel truck to keep the truck running strong and fast
