I have been a fan of Roni since the 90's. Roni is the King of DnB to me. After seeing him at #cashonly in Ft Lauderdale, Florida I was reinspired! Cant wait for the evolved tracks he has produced! He is a major influencer and I feel so lucky to get a pic with him. Epic!
The Jungle scene was that much extra special! Big up from FInland! "New Forms" pushed DnB like maybe only "Timeless" did before.. So much imagination in one album!
So did this new stuff ever materialize? Seems like by keeping it the backburner for the right moment only lead him straight into the covid fiasco... hopefully the new project with Universal comes out once things start looking better.
Funny thing Photek live is a whole other animal. He ranged from minimalism to Miami Base back when I sw him in Atlanta 2003. What a surprise considering his CD back then.
@@rasix6 yeah but can he do stand up is the real question? I saw Photek and maybe Optical too one night in Charlotte around the same time it was a good show. Actually it was Photek and Teebee damn I almost forgot about that. That shit was nice
It's funny because I came to this interview after being sent on a Roni Size kick after noticing him in a Buzzcocks clip that Bill Bailey and Sean Locke were discussing about Mark Lamarr's humor. Now I see Roni confusing interactions he had between Eddie Izzard and Photek while drunk at the Mercury awards. It's come full cycle.
Love hearing this talk. This music had such a impact on me. It was pushing the 4/4 break beat into a totally new place.
Rspct Roni! Great job, been since 97& I'm glad to see U in Poznan 2018. One.
where they fail is that this was not only roni size. several people made that album
This is so good. Roni is the best!

this scene died in the late 90's
Found out about him in the PS2 masterpiece FreQuency, Railin, Pt 2 is an absolute banger.
LOVE

what is this bonus disk called? would love to hear it
💖mad luv
I really like Hi-Potent. It's like a reprise of Brown Paper Bag.
