    How are you able to allow students to write on your materials?

    • @MissesDee
      @MissesDee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Zoom has tools that allow students to write on the screen. Google docs allow working in collaboration as well. If they are too young, I often write for them. Many meeting apps allow students to write on the screen, it is just a matter of learning how to use it.

    Hi there! This looks like such a great program! I paid for the subscription but Apple won't download the app because it can't search for malware. Says the developer needs to update the program. Do you have any advice? I was so excited about this platform, but even the mobile app isn't giving me access to the lessons. Thank you!!

    • @MissesDee
      @MissesDee  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry for the late reply, somehow this comment slipped my attention! There are work arounds by going into settings and allowing permission for the specific program. I'm an android user myself and haven't been troubleshooting Apple equipment for a hot minute, so I forget how to do it. You might be able to find an answer if you google it-- That's what I usually do! LOL

    Hello,
    Are you still using this curriculum and happy with it? Would this be a good starting point for lessons and going independent?

    • @MissesDee
      @MissesDee  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am not using the curriculum currently only because I stopped teaching ESL due to having a baby and not being able to do those hours anymore. I was always very happy with all of the material I mentioned in this video. Perfect for going independent.

    Thanks. I've been getting tired of writing my own curriculum for Outschool and Allschool. This sounds like it could be extremely helpful. Would I need to get permission from any of these or is permission to use it for profit built in? Thanks!!!

    • @MissesDee
      @MissesDee  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Alana! Thanks for asking. You would have to check each one's "Terms of Service" and search for "commercial use" or research Fair Use laws to see if they apply. In many cases, using it for profit requires special permission. Please do some research on this. Some companies are ok with using it with 1 student classes; some have other types of memberships you can purchase. It's a very tricky area with unclear answers.

    • @MissesDee
      @MissesDee  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't have this curriculum, and I can't vouch for it, but I know that eslPals allows teachers to use it for commercial use!

    Hi Teacher Dee! Out of curiosity, has something changed recently with ESLlkidstuff? I was told by them via email that I could not use their materials to teach virtually. I could only use them in a physical classroom. This was quite a few months ago though, so I'm not sure if things have changed since my conversation with them.

    • @MissesDee
      @MissesDee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am not sure about that. There is nothing listed to the like in their terms and conditions, so they should update that if this is the case! We may want to check with them again as the world really has gone virtual for education, and I imagine many teachers use the material virtually.

      @@linasanchez5765 I've been looking on their website and they only talk about using them in the classroom. I haven't seen anything that says I can't use them online, but also nothing that says I can. It seems strange that they wouldn't allow them online since that would eliminate a huge market they could profit from. Thank you so much for your comment!

    Wondering, how Many hours per week do u recommend for kids?

    • @MissesDee
      @MissesDee  ปีที่แล้ว

      For ESL classes? In an ideal world, 30 minutes of intense practice a day! That will really help learn a language. If a teacher is engaging enough, they CAN keep a young student's attention for 20 minutes. The other 10 are for brain breaks, stretching, and laughing. ;)

      Great video, especially that Ecuador hack, wow. I was wondering if you know of any way of getting students directly. I've tried running Facebook ads focused on Korea, Japan, and China; but the only people who respond are people visiting from third world countries. The locals never answer. The immigrants who respond are working or taking classes, but don't have any money for lessons. How can I communicate with locals from these countries? I worked in Korea for a long time, and I know parents will pay $30 or more for private lessons, so there is huge potential. But how can I contact people there, or in China, or Japan?

    • @MissesDee
      @MissesDee  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@healthquest4823 Honestly, that is why I work for on platforms like italki, Allschool, and Outschool. I pay them to market for me. It's worth it to me. I tried to find my own students before but it was hours upon hours of Facebook posting/reading/responding just to be low-balled.
