Nice video. I have an 05 and it’s been leaking for a couple years. Not nearly as bad as yours though! This video confirms it’s something I would probably rather pay to get done. I mean, it is doable, but it is going to be a nightmare doing all this on my back in the driveway. Thanks for showing all the details.
Thanks alot for the video I have a 06 silverado that just started pouring oil from the rear main you video is gonna help me alot thats if I decide to do it because I'm gonna have to do it on the ground
Wow, great detail however, I will most likely look you up and hire you as it is more than I want to take on. You obviously care as you show in the video
I supposedly had my rear main seal fixed .. after this idiot said he fixed my rear main seal .. he said I have no oil pressure ;( so my 2000 suburban 1500 is sitting .. I had it towed from shit mechanic .. since my truck has been sitting, it’s leaking from rear as well as my transmission !.!..!!. He didn’t fix shit !.!.!. He refuses to do the work I paid him for !.!.

Not much for words, so well done video and thanks for when that time comes.
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent video. I have to replace the rear main seal on my 2006 Tahoe. I've been kind of putting it off since I don't have a lift.
Very possible to do it without a lift, just need some patience, I've done similar jobs at home
Great vid, young man!!! Where is your shop located?
Thank you so much, and here in the tampa bay FL area

How many miles on the truck? 👍👍
234xxx
How much did this cost the customer? I need this done for mine
It was my own vehicle but ALLDATA labor time is 5.2 hrs for the job so depends where you go plus the real main seal housing like $150
@@FLAutoCare2 years ago I paid $300 for that job, plus parts, I bought the complete rear cover with the seal, $60 bucks in Amazon
good job
Can you put the link where you got your parts bro
Thanks 🙏🏻
No going to lie for a job like this i ALLWAYS recommend OEM parts i got mine from the dealer
I've seen when they put 3 dorman parts and all leaked
Bro I need to change mine, looks like a pain in the butt especially with no lift 😭😮💨
Yeah it does. Just need to be patient with it and it's possible 👍
And the name of all the parts you needed bro
Shop told me 2600. I need a lift so I can do it myself
You really don't I've done a couple of transmission drops on a driveway, but if you don't feel comfortable or safe then yes take it to a shop
@ I had a hard time getting underneath it to change the tie rods. It would be alot easier with a lift but no way am I paying 2600. Lol
Yooooo its like there’s no seal on it lol
Yeah it was really bad
yikes
My oil pressure was perfect when dropping off my truck to have rear main fixed
