Mirabai is an example of total surrender. Swamiji beautifully explains her sayings illustrating her devotion and total surrender to Sri Krishna. It helps us get a concept of what total surrender is.
How I wish we could surrender like Mirabai and other saints surrender to the Supreme God. This will make the path easier for us to attain him. But I know it is not a easy. We should have someone to guide you and take you in that path. The only person who can do that is if we have association with Saints and Guru.

When confused about what is the will of God, ask yourself what will be most pleasing to God and then decide - such a practical solution for moments of confusion that we face often.
To understand the Will of God, always ask this question to yourself in every situation - What action of mine will be most pleasing to God in this circumstance? Do exactly that. Read the divine knowledge of the scriptures and saints to illuminate your mind and intellect in the right direction.
In one of the lectures, Pujya Swamiji mentions, since thoughts precede the actions, that we have that choice with each and every thought and discard any thought that would not be pleasing to God & Guru.
Many a time we have to make decisions right away in so many situations that by realising that we have to do what would please God based on our knowledge about Vedic scriptures & teachings of Guru always helps out.
We must follow the instructions of God and Guru given in our scriptures. And follow the Will of God , use your intellect based on knowledge and wisdom from scriptures , do what pleases God . That intention is most important.

There are 4 categories of jeevas with respect to fulfilling God or Guru’s instructions: The 1st understands their desire and fulfills it without being told. The 2nd has to be instructed but he fulfills them with devotion and love. The 3rd begrudgingly fulfills the Guru’s instructions. The 4th fails to comply. There are 4 categories of jeevas with respect to fulfilling God or Guru’s instructions: The 1st understands their desire and fulfills it without being told. The 2nd has to be instructed but he fulfills them with devotion and love. The 3rd begrudgingly fulfills the Guru’s instructions. The 4th fails to comply. It is very humbling to know that a vast majority of us are in the 4th category. Thank you for this lesson, Swamiji.

Swamiji describes four types of disciples: (1) teer-chela or the arrow-like disciple who does not return after leaving; (2) jyotishi-chela or the astrologer-like disciple who makes predictions against the will of the Guru; (3) doctor-chela who thinks he knows more about what the Guru needs; and (4) one who does not comply with the Guru’s instructions and shirks his duties. Absolutely, and we must perform good actions with sincerity, without expectation.
We as individula souls are constitutionally part of God. Swamiji uses a beautiful example f the tree here. All part of the tree, leaves, branches, root, trunk all exist as part of the tree and serve the tree to survive and grow in their own ways.
We have to use this body and soul like the parts of the tree to serve him as that is the only reason we are here.
Swamiji explains these analogy in so many videos . Also we have great example of hand serving the body for its well being
When it comes to fulfilling the desire of God or His representative , the Guru, there are 4 kinds of disciples. 1st category disciples follows the instructions and do it whatever it takes. while 2nd, 3rd and 4th disciples doesn't do it immediately or do it late or partly or never do it.
