I genuinely look forward to these quizzes
Thank you Matty! I'm glad to hear it :)
Rubbish results TOTAL FUN . Smiling all the way.
Im glad you enjoyed taking part, thats the most important thing!
I love these quizzes! I got 6/8 though I guessed the badger! Not bad for a city gal. Thanks for doing this for us🙏🐦⬛
Well done! Thats a brilliant result (which 2 did you get wrong). Thank you for taking part, as long as people like yourself keep doing so, I will keep making them. Cheers :)
Love the quizzes. Learn new info every week. Thank you.
Thank you Helen, as long as people are taking part and learning a thing or two along the way, I couldn't be happier.
Too embarrassed 🤭😳to reveal my score this week but still great fun participating. All good learning, it's the remembering that's the challenge for me - never mind, I don't mind learning all over again 😁🥰 Thanks Liam!
🤒 Aye. Same.
Well done for having a go, and as long as you enjoyed the video and hopefully learnt a new fact or 2 along the way then it was worthwile.
For the FIRST time ever - I scored six. And it feels amazing 🎉🎉🎉. Thank you Liam - lovely to have you back. 😊
@karend7640 well done Karen! That's a great score 👏
It's good to be back, see you next time.
Managed four, eels head shape surprised me.
Well done Derek! The Eel fact is a really interesting one and scientists dont fully understand how it works yet.
1 C
2 idk
3 880
4 idk
5 Seal?
6 700 years
7 false
8 white/little hearon/egret (i heard many names for it)
It's all about having a go! Well done!
Love these quizzes Liam. Didn’t do too well this time only two right. I’ll do better next time. Take care and thank you. I got them all right when I watched it the second time around 😀
Haha, good job getting them all right the second time round- although I have been informed that there was a mistake in the video which im about to correct in a community post- I wouldnt want to be teaching people the wrong things after all. Thanks as always for taking part and for supporting my channel by leaving a comment.
5 out of 8. Did well for a city boy. Thanks for quiz.
Well done, you did well for anyone. This one was harder than most of the quizzes I have put out so cracking result. Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
Just the 4 right. Got the spider, eel, lynx and bird type questions right.
Well done! The Toad question was deliberately worded to make it seem like the answer would be True and the others you got wrong were fairly tricky. Thanks for taking part, see you next time!
Is.....fantastic and beautiful videos thank 💯✖️💯🆗️🤗
Thank you Tom!
@AShotOfWildlife happy day 🆗️🤗👍🏼
Brilliant… love this channel. 10/10. Thanks for sharing your wisdom mate.?
Youre welcome and well done. Thanks for taking part, see you next time :)
4 out of 8 correct this time. Thanks Liam for another great quiz and we learn something everytime you put one out.👍
Cheers Paul and thanks for playing along every time. 4 out of 8 is a good result and as you say, it means you have learnt a fact or 2 by taking part. See you next time :)
Only four right this week Liam,Having fun learning all these new facts, I usually only concentrate on bird watching but your fascinating quizzes have inspired me to investigate all species of wildlife and enjoying it too. Well done Liam, Happy Days! 😄😄😄😄
Cheers Stevo, thats great to hear and im glad you are enjoying more wildlife as a result of these videos. Thanks for taking part, see you next time!
I got 6 right this time. A big improvement as my average has only been 3 up until now
Well done Mark, which 2 questions tripped you up?
I got 4 correct this time. Very pleased especially that I identified the badger footprint. Really enjoyed it. Will look forward to the next one. Thanks, Liam!
Well done Julie! I am glad you enjoyed the video and great job getting the badger print right. Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
Absolutely diabolical only got 3 this time but won't give up most enjoyable
That isnt too bad Anthony, and it means you have learnt a few facts by taking part, which is the whole idea. Thanks for playing along, see you next time :)
That was hard, I think I only got a couple right. Little instead of great egret
Knew the black Rat is confined to a small island in the hebrides, but still got it wrong. Great quiz. Harder quizes, are often better because you learn more.
Cheers Patrick. I can never gauge how difficult people are going to find these quizzes until they are uploaded and it does of course depend on the topics, fish, birds, reptiles and amphibians are the areas I know the most about and if I didnt write these quizzes, I would probably get a couple of questions wrong most weeks.
Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
Got two right three if I can have one for calling it a heron
You was very close by calling it a heron but sadly I cant let you have the point for that- I would have given half a point for egret though. Thanks for taking part Martin, im sure you will do better next time and I hope you enjoyed playing along either way.
Brilliant facts as ever Liam, managed to fluke 7/8 this. Thanks for posting.
Well done John, thats a brilliant score. Which question did you get wrong?
@ Thanks Liam, I thought the door mouse was the rarest. Look forward to the next one.
I am learning so much with these quizzes! Like the shape of the heads of eels....😮
Thank you, that is the fact that I found most interesting out of those in this weeks quiz. See you next time :)
6/8 this time around, getting better or getting luckier.
Well done! you must be getting better as this was definitely harder than some of the quizzes I have published before. Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
1. 5
2. False
3. C
4. True
5. Badger
6. B
7. True
8. Great white egret
5 of 8 this time! I always struggle with the questions on relative population size of animals, since birds are my thing I'm much less knowledgeable about invertebrates and amphibians!
Well done Jon. 5 out of 8 is a great result. I try to make these quizzes diverse so that some questions, such as the bird ID for you, will be quite straightforward, whilst still providing a challenge. Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
4/8 great fun thanks 🎉
Well done and thanks for taking part. See you next time :)
I would imagine the eels head shape would be dictated by epigenetics.
Rosemary and Peter Grant spent 40 years on the Galapogos islands, studying finches. They found the beak shape changed with the environmental conditions. Wet years producing a lot of soft fruit, this in turn produced offspring with lighter beaks to deal with them. In dry years, when a lot of hard seeds were produced, the finches offspring had heavier beaks.
The so-called "junk DNA" is, in fact, an operating programme.
In response to changing conditions, different parts of the genes are combined in response. I assume it is the same with the eels. If not, I would be eager to know.
Thanks for the quizzes. I enjoy them.
That is very interesting, thank you for sharing! At birth (hatching) their head shape is not defined and if they are kept in an environment with only one type of food, they develop the according head shape- if they have access to both types of prey then some of their heads are short and some are long and narrow. I will do some research into how it functions.
Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
@AShotOfWildlife that also is interesting, thanks. I may well do some research of my own. I love learning.
A recent fan. Loved this quiz 👍 Thankyou!
Welcome to the channel, I'm glad you enjoyed this quiz. There are plenty more to come, alongside fact files and wildlife adventures. Cheers, Liam
4 my best score yet😊
Well done, 4 right and 4 new facts learned (hopefully). Thanks for taking part :)
Thank you another great quiz. 😊
You're welcome Yvonne! Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
7!!!!! A couple were just pure luck though!!! Lovely to see the the wasp spider
Well done, thats a cracking result. Which question did you get wrong?
Thanks for another interesting quiz.
I got the first two wrong along with the toad question, so 5/8 which I am very happy with.
Youre welcome, thanks for taking part! How many pigeons did you think there were?
Very interesting
Thank you!
Yay, 100%, have to admit I was lucky with guesses on Lynx and Spider varieties.
Well done Sue, I thought the spider question would trip a few people up so nice work getting that one right. Thanks for taking part!
I will keep trying 😋 thank you 👍😎
As long as you are enjoying the quiz and hopefully learning a fact or 2 then its worthwhile, cheers!
@ every week I learn more, 👍😎
I got the spiders wrong, I went for B. I also got the eel head question wrong. So 6/8, this proves that I have learnt two more wildlife facts! Thank you Liam! Great fun as always!
haha got them all except the toad one great fun😆
Well done! I thought the wording on that question might make a few people doubt themselves. Thanks for taking part and see you next time.
If you let me have heron for q8, then I got 5. If not, then I only got 4. Thanks Liam.
Ohhh, I think im going to be strict this week and not give heron for question 8 (sorry). But 4 out of 8 is still a really good score and I hope you enjoyed taking part :)
7 right this time. I’m really loving these quizzes. Thank you. Annie
Well done Annie, which question did you get wrong?
I scored 5. I'm happy with that and now know more than I did
Well done Jane! You should be happy as 5 out of 8 is a cracking result in this quiz, which was arguably harder than most that I have released in the past. Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
Oh dear, 4/8! Fish and creepy crawlies always let me down. I got the pigeon/dove one, the badger print, the great white egret of the heron family, and the lynx question. Bit of a guess for that one, to be honest! Good quiz as always, and a bit of fun to get the brain ticking!
Well done! 4 out of 8 is a good result as this quiz was a bit harder than those I have published previously. Especially well done for getting the badger print right, there is no guessing with those so you have done a great job. Thanks for taking part, see you next time :)
@@AShotOfWildlife Thank you! Look forward to the next!!
Yay! Excellent video as always… Thank you. My better half scored 5 and I got 6… Getting there!
Well done both of you, thats an impressive result. Did you get the same questions wrong?
Love this, but struggled this week 4/8
Keep them coming!
4 out of 8 is a decent score, and it means that you hopefully learnt a fact or 2 from watching this- which is the whole idea. Thanks for taking part Martin, see you next time.
Only 6.5 this week, assuming I only get a half for 'egret'. I saw badger prints in a wood last year so I got that right. I knew about the black 'plague' rat being the rarest rodent. The eel one was obvious as you wouldn't have asked about the odd fact had it not been true.
Got the spider one wrong as there are so many varieties I assumed there were more.
Well done Clive- I will let you have the half point. I did figure the Eel question was so outlandish that people might think that it has to be true, maybe I will start throwing in curveball facts like that which I have made up in future quizzes. Thanks for taking part, see you next time!
Also love the quizzes
Only 3 🙈 but enjoyed the quizz
3 questions right, 5 new facts learned and 5 minutes of entertainment- sounds like a win win win to me. Thanks for taking part Paul, see you next time.
This time 4 right, getting better wouldn't you say!!!!!!
I would say so, and this quiz was harder than most I have published before so well done! Thanks for taking part, see you next time :)
5/8! One day I will get 100% Thanks again for doing these - time to see what score my Mum gets ;)
Spoiler=
1 C = Y
2 false = Y
3 C = X (A)
4 false = X (true)
5 Badger = Y
6 A = Y
7 False = Y
8 Egret = X (oops close!!)
Well done Lucy. One day all of these questions will fit right into topics you know about and im sure youll get your first 100%. Best not to get them all right every week though as that would becomes quite boring I suspect. Thanks as always for taking part and see you next time.
A great video and much more interesting than wordle 👍
A measly FOUR yet again ... love the quizzes though!
7/8 thanks for the quiz 😊
Wow, well done! Thats a brilliant score, thanks for taking part :)
OMG - I'm in shock! I usually get 2 or 3 right, but today I got a magnificent SEVEN correct! Just the toad one was wrong. Maybe I should buy a lottery ticket this week .....
Thanks for all the quizzes, which I enjoy even when I mostly get them wrong! 😊
If you win, I am looking for a channel sponsor... lol.
Well done Linda, thats a great score and the toad question was quite a tricky one. Thanks for taking part, see you next time :)
Love these Quizzes
Only 6 out of 8 this time
Thank you and well done, 6 out of 8 is a really good score- especially this week as it seems to have been a bit more difficult than usual. See you next time :)
Great quiz as usual Liam. 5 correct again. I cant get past 5 😂 Maybe next time. Amazing fact about the eels by the way.
Im sure if you keep on trying, one week all the questions will fall into place for you and you'll break the 5 barrier, and even if you dont, 5 is a good score! Thanks for taking part Tony, see you next time.
I identified the bird correctly, and that's solely down to watching your channel, so thanks! 🙂
Brilliant, well done! I am glad my video are helping people to know more about our wildlife.
I could only remember the amount of spiders because it was somewhere near to 666 and a lot of people think that are just 8 legged devils. I know. My missus is an arachnophobe.
And as an Angler, I knew this about eels. I've caught them from places where their main diets have been insects and grubs and other places where they feed on small fish.
That footprint got me.
And since when have Egrets been part of the bird population in the UK. Are they migratory or are they here all year? 🤔😲🤷♂
And a great set of tricky questions. 👍
Well done, good knowledge on the Eels and the spiders- that should help people to remember the number of them and will definitely mean I dont forget it again, even though I dont dislike them.
Little egrets did used to be quite a common bird in the UK, before going extinct here and recolonising in 1996, great egrets came in 2012 and cattle egrets bred for the first time in 2008 (and then started regularly breeding here in 2017). I doubt its very long until other members of their family arrive as well, such as night herons.
Thanks for taking part, see you next time!
I got a bit discouraged with my recent results, so I haven't taken part for a few weeks - but today I scored 5! 🙂
Never get discouraged Tim- these arent tests, they are just a fun way of finding out what you do know and hopefully learning a few next facts along the way. 5 out of 8 is a great score and I hope to see you next time. Cheers
Id love to see lynx back in the country.
We need put the habitat back first,
I think there is space for them, hopefully no idiots try to release them without the right habitualisation again (as was recently published in the media). Imagine stumbling across a wild Lynx in the UK, that would be pretty amazing!
Only 4 out of 8 for me this time with a couple of guesses. I totally forgot about the turtle dove, and got No.5 wrong with Bigfoot! Great quiz, thanks again.
Haha, you were so close with bigfoot! To be fair the turtle dove is so rare these days that it is easily overlooked and you did well to know about the other 4 species. Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
Just 1 this week.
Ah, well at least you have hopefully learnt a few new facts and enjoyed taking part. Cheers
@AShotOfWildlife I have, thank you. Looking forward to next quiz.
Heron for last question would have given me 4 correct. I was kinda right.
Great quiz 👍
You was very close with Heron, but im being a stickler this week and not giving half points for that. I am glad you enjoyed taking part and I hope to see you next time :)
@@AShotOfWildlife And rightly so. Great channel!
Wow 7 out of 8. But have to admit a few guesses in there!!
Nice one!
Thanks Tim!
Can't believe it, but I got all 8! Some were guesses, admittedly, particularly the footprint.
Wahey! Well done David, thats brilliant. I am going to switch between footprints, feathers and skulls for a little while as I have worked my way through most of my skull collection in previous quizzes. Thanks as always for taking part.
@@AShotOfWildlife I won't be sorry to see the last of the skulls!
old and ashamed; 3 and they were guesses! Still enjoyed learning though. Never too late!
If you enjoyed watching and learning then it was definitely worthwile. Thanks for taking part, see you next time :)
3/8 which is about what i expected 😋
Great quiz though, i really like the idea of these and hope you continue them.
Well done, this quiz was quite tough so thats a good score! I enjoy making the quiz style videos and will continue to do so whilst people like yourself keep watching and playing along. Cheers!
6 out of 8. The Eel and footprint ones got me
Well done. I thought the eel one seemed so outlandish that people would guess that it couldnt be made up- but it is really interesting and not yet fully understood. Thanks for taking part, see you next time!
can i say it's a front left badger print and get a bonus point bro lol 😂 loved that and love to you and the family!! x
Cheers JP! No bonus points, but you get my appreciation and respect--- is that good enough? I hope all is good in your world, we must catch up soon :)
lol 😂much better than a bonus point ❤ and definitely bro can’t wait to meet the bubba! 😊 x
50% again. I think anyone who has watched your videos for a while will have got the pigeon one.
Cheers, I do talk about pigeons quite a bit and of course, went and found all 5 species in a day last year. Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
Cheers Liam, only 4 this week. Might help to give a size guide for the footprint, I didn't realise it was so big, nice change from the skulls though. I always look forward to your quiz videos. Thanks again
Cheers John, I will include something for scale in the future, or super impose a ruler over the images where I can. Thanks for taking part, see you next time :)
5/8. Q2,3 & 5 got me ! 😮
Well done. I thought the spider question would catch a few people out- I found the figure surprising myself, especially compared to the number of beetles and moths that we have.
5 this time, thanks Liam.
Well done, thanks for taking part :)
This is really fun and I did well.
Out of the 8 questions I was able to get 6 correctly😂😂.
One fact gained again today.
Thanks❤
Thanks Liam Fun *and* informative. Four ... again. Nearly five. Forgot about the Collared Dove dammit. Got the eel one, simply because it would have been too weird a thing *not* to be true. Saw an egret near low water in the estuary of the River Adur at Shoreham by Sea, whilst enjoying a pub lunch last autumn.
*LET LYNX COME HOME*
Well done, shame about missing the collared dove and you did well to include the turtle dove! I know, the Eel fact was perhaps a bit too out there for it to be false, but who knows, next time I might just make up some completely outlandish "fact" to catch you out lol. Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
4 out of 8. Need to watch more of your videos.
4 out of 8 isnt bad, but I would never discourage you from watching more of my videos :) Cheers!
@AShotOfWildlife I look forward to the videos every week.
5/8 better this week then previous, surprising the foot print was thought it looked bigger.
Well done Peter! I will try to include something for scale in future footprint photos, I completely overlooked it this time. Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
8/8 That's the first quiz I got right
Brilliant score! Well done and thanks for taking part.
6 out of 8 this time, getting better 😊
Well done Nicki, thats a really high score for this week- which seems to have been harder than most of the previous quizzes I have published. Thanks for taking part :)
You did me again Liam, I fell for the invertebrate trap and went for otter because of the muddy print. 6 out of 8. Regarding introduced toads, at my last house we had midwife toads, really cute little things, loved their calls at night.
Haha, it wasnt on purpose I promise.
Midwife toads are great, I helped "discover" a population of them whilst I was at uni in Cambridge. Where was your last house, a close friend of mine is recording all of their national populations at the moment.
Cheers!
@@AShotOfWildlife In High Wycombe, the area to the east of Hughenden Road. You'd hear them from the allotments on Green Hill down past Hamilton Road where we lived. It's ten years since we left, but I've no reason to think that they aren't still there. The population has been established for over 20 years. The first indication was when I found a clump of what I took for frogspawn lying on the garden path. I had no idea how it could have got there, but with hindsight it must have been dropped or abandoned by one of the males (for anyone unfamiliar with midwife toads check out their AMAZING reproductive habits). They were very secretive and you'd rarely see them, but they'd sing incessantly during damp evenings in the spring and early summer
Quite pleased I got 5 right. Learning something every time! Missed last week's.😢
Well done! Did you actually mis one? I didnt publish a quiz last week as I was away and then was unwell for a few days- better now though. Thanks for taking part :)
Aha! Thanks for that explanation. Glad you're better.😁
38/8 I think I did pretty good if I’m being humble
You did really well if you got 38 out of 8 lol. But even 3 out of 8 is good going, some of these questions were quite tricky. Thanks for taking part, see you next time :)
God it’s getting tougher the more these quiz videos come out! Only got half right this time without googling !🤣👍
got home weds after surgery but footprint over bones 8, so clearly the brain still works, was so guessing on the great egret though
Well done Gerri. I will be switching between footprints, feathers and skulls going forward as I have worked my way through most of my skull collection already. I hope your surgery went well :)
@@AShotOfWildlife gonna feel sore another week but could not have gone better, thankyou
hello did better this week got 5 well i given myself a half a point as i got the last question half right missed out the great lol got the badge one as well, so well chuffed with my self
Well done Alistair, good jobe getting close by knowing it was an egret- a lot of people dont realise there is more than one species of them here in the UK. Thanks for taking part, see you next time!
Just 3 correct answers today😅
Dont worry, that means 5 new facts learned today- which is great news. Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
Most enjoyable - 4/8.
Knew the Egret because there are so many locally, here in mid-Germany.
My guess of Grizzly Bear for the footprint was wrong, though....😁
5 today pal
Well done Dave, thanks for taking part mate!
Grrrh 5 again one day I will get more. Did not get the eel the footprint and the black rat beat me. Great quiz though.
5 out of 8 is a great score, this week was tougher than most of the previous quizzes so it is even more impressive. Thanks for taking part, see you next time (where I think you might manage a 6 or above)
I did terrible on this one - 3 correct. I thought that the last one was going to be a trick question and it was actually an albino grey heron - but I did get that one right.
3 isnt too bad and some of these questions were really tricky. As long as you enjoyed taking part and maybe learnt one or 2 facts along the way, it was worthwile. I havent ever seen an albino Grey Heron but I think there are one or 2 about- perhaps that should be a target of mine for this year. Cheers, see you next time!
4..must try harder
4 is a good result, some of these questions were hard! Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
6.5/8.
I guessed true for the rarest rodent, and I'm giving myself a half-point for saying egret, rather than great egret.
Haha, I will allow the half point for egret, although if I include a different species of egret in the future, there will be no half points that time... Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
4 again still trying to better 5 !!!
Well done Allan, keep on trying and im sure you will break the 5 barrier some time soon. Cheers
Steady 5/8 (If just Egret counts!)
Well done- I can probably give you half a point for just Egret but good job on getting close.
Only 4 this week but happy I got the Great Egret, eels are weird lol but taste good.
I have to say, I have never tasted eel before but I know they used to be quite a popular food.
4 out of 8 isnt too bad, and you cant do as well as you did last week every time Annie. Thanks for taking part, see you next time!
A disappointing 3 this week, still enjoyed it though and looking forward to next weeks already.
3 out of 8 is not bad. As long as you enjoyed it, and hopefully learnt a new fact or 2, it was worth wile. Thanks for taking part, see you next time.
Another 6/8.
Well done Kevin!
a very good quiz but I was disappointing in what the answers I gave. I think I got two right. but keep the good work you do coming
If you enjoyed taking part and learnt a new fact or 2, it was a job well done. Thanks for watching, see you next time :)
Spider 🕷️ done me
If you got all of the others right, thats a great result. Well done and thanks for taking part!
3/8, must do better.
Thanks Liam
Dont be hard on yourself, thats a great score in what was a difficult quiz! Thanks for taking part, as always, and I will see you next time :)
Loving these m8, keep em coming! 👌
I only get about 60% on average lol 😂
Well done, as long as people like yourself keep watching and playing along, I will keep making them. Cheers!
5/8 not bad for a city boy now living semi rural 😊
