@@bot27222 i envy you lol. Even after playing DR1, DR2 and Udg i still had to come to this video because I feel extremely lost. Around the minute 18:00 when nagito appears I already start having problems and the ending cutscene, in which izuru appears, is completely out of my reach. I'm mostly confused about the timeline i believe. I haven't played v3 yet so I'm leaving my doubts aside and hope everything gets clearer later.

@@ygobe2 Think about it, Junko's body was crushed (No body parts could be left). Mukuro's the twin sister of Junko, and Junko blown out her corpse's head so she won't be recognizable. It's easy to mix up the two of 'em... And eventualy, the remnants did to Mukuro what they wanted to do to Junko...

Toko choosing to save both Byakuya and Komaru... now THAT's character growth. I'm amazed that this game managed to single-handedly redeem Toko's character.

Her stance also changes after giving the speech in the underground base. Her walking/running animations go from moving while clutching the hacking gun because she's scared to moving around with confidence. It's a subtle, but important change.

I hate how during gameplay her voice changes, but when it comes to anime fillers her voice is back at squeky one.
Her voice is almost deeper than makoto's-
She gets more confident during the plot.
The story of danganronpa isn’t my favorite ever, but I appreciate how everything connects nicely between the games spin-offs and anime. It’s nice to see things like izuru taking junkos AI to insert into the simulation for danganronpa 2 and such.
O goody now i have a video to link people to, instead of telling them "You need to spend ~15 to 30 hours playing through Ultra despair girls before watching past ep. 3 of future side"
Getting people to buy a spinoff title when they originally thought it optional (even though Kodaka said it was important) is a hard sell. A 30 minute TH-cam video should be much more digestible.
The only thing i would have really liked you to emphasize more is just HOW MUCH those kids were F'd up.

Not needed anymore. NISA actually released both the Danganronpa 1.2 Reload release (a combination of both DR1 and DR2 in one package) and Ultra Despair Girls for both the PS4 and Steam. So now you just need 30 dollars to play Ultra Despair Girls, at regular price (less if you grab it on a sale). This happened in March 2017 I think,so yes, after your reply but just wanted to let everyone know.
I have both vita and ps4 versions and I played ultra despair on ps4... these games look just stunning at 1080 on the big screen! I am kinda sorry I did not play trigger happy on ps4!

Jamberite - No you were right... Hajime was still Ikuru here Junko's virus was inside the shiro and kuro kumas then he and nagito would go to jabberwock island and install her virus into the neo world program...
Yep, the scene where Izuru shows up is basically a bit of a nod to SDR2 explaining how exactly Izuru got his hands on the Junko AI.

Amazin recap; I went through the visual novel of DR2 on TH-cam which took me a week's worth of time. So relieved I only had to spend 30mins on understanding DR-Another Episode. Now I can finally watch the anime before watching V3.
Playing the games is much preferable to watching any anime

I feel like Komaru should've given a new order when she got the controller. It would've stated "From now on, you will make your own choices, you will take responsibility for your own actions, and you not take any further orders from this controller." It would be using hypnotism to give the children their freewill back which is the sort of twist that would fit Danganronpa perfectly.

well I say start in order the events in this game leads a bit to danganronpa 2. But because of kamakura and you can watch the anime if you want to watch the events that lead up to ultra despair girls. but that's only if you want. the video explains it though
