Same, but It’s not irrational to be revolted by this. Revulsion is the sane, normal reaction. The fact that she keeps bringing up that she just turned 18 feels like she’s purposely trying to appeal to pedos.
Yeah, she's attempting to live in the pedophiles' fantasies so the pedophiles can say, "Oh, you're still technically a minor and fresh and new." And when she says she never had a partner because of her age, she's trying to convince those who see her as a child that she has never been touched and is clean, if you know what I mean.
Some guy on instagram commented “women are hating on feminine girls again” under one of that girl’s video 😭 this man thinks acting like a toddler is feminine
As a Chinese person who regularly uses Douyin (Chinese TikTok), this girl is famous on Douyin because she is being made fun of for acting this way, NOT because people like to see her act cute.
Thank you for clarifying this for everyone. Western and other medias are portraying her and a few other girls who act this way as “normal” and assuming this is Chinese standard, which is definitely not it. She gained her popularity in Chinese social media the same way on western media, where she is being mocked and satirical videos mimicking her are being made. Don’t let a few odd ones that gain attention lead you to believe that the rest of the population is like this. As a Chinese person myself who uses Douyin and all other major mainland medias, acts like these are taken as a joke and people who do act this way and pretend or try too hard to act ‘cool’, or ‘cute’ receive way more criticism than you would expect praise. Take this stuff as a joke and not so seriously.
As a Chinese person who also regularly uses Douyin, yes this is true. She's literally a meme on Douyin. Crazy to think some actually believe this is the beauty standard/norm in China.

@@silverghostcat1924That... is literally my experience with someone I know doing that... And I can say without a doubt I can't stand it, especially when the wording is so damn hard to TELL what was meant to be said I have to almost scream "WHAT?" three or four times before I get the real phrase. I do wish to put headphones on every time, and my back crawls in anger and "wtf am I going through this for again" every time..😓😅 I hate it, so so bad...
A man who is attracted to this probably should be investigated. Acting cute has levels, adult women can have very naturally cute qualities. This is forced and infantalizing...it's creepy.
Society as a whole finds child like feautures mote atractive in women, there were even studies made about this comparing the faces of models to children's, It's the same as seeing a puppy, you'd say aww, cute, not think about fking the puppy. With this part of asian culture... well... you probably have a point there. The whole "loli" thing and the hypersexualization of teenagers... it's creepy and makes this extreme "talking childlike" thing kinda suspicious, specially because she keeps pointing out how she "just turned 18", if it walks like fetiche content and it sounds like fetiche content then...
I'm cringing every time she talks, it's like watching a horror movie. But I like the cheese grater to me ear drums analogy, and the way she's twisting her body every time she talks, I can't
I’m just genuinely struggling to see how anyone who’s over 18 and attracted to this behavior is not considered predatory. It’s literally textbook infant behavior. I can’t not see this as p3d0filia even if it is a cultural thing. It’s still exploitation of children. Both boys and girls.
I agree. If you’re into childish behaviour you’re just a p*d*f*l*. It’s behaviour that is most common to underages. If you like that type of behaviour on adults then it is by no means a stretch to say you like it on kids, they say they don’t like on kids it is because it’s illegal. If the age of concern lowered tomorrow they’d jump at the possibility before you could blink.
thank you for saying this. I feel like people dance around this being a "fetish" (actually just pedophilic) content by calling it "endearing" or cringe.. it's basically just porn for pedos. I'm willing to bet that most of her audience is split into two categories - haters who actually just give her views and literal pedophiles who get off on this. If her goal was to be cute in the non sexual way, there's no reason for the enhanced breasts and revealing clothes.. they would actually go against that goal.
I promise it's not just a cultural thing.... yes acting younger and cute can be seen as endearing in some east Asian cultures but doing it to this ridiculous extent is too far and veers straight off into fetish territory. Most ppl are weirded out by it
As a Chinese person I just wanted to say that while acting cute is definitely a cultural thing, doing it to THIS level, where she straight up just sounds like a toddler, is NOT normal. It's weird as hell, and if any man (or anyone for that matter) falls for it, they're at best a f*cking weirdo and at worst they're a p*do / got some weird p*do fetish. The way she keeps repeating that she just turned 18 while acting like she's 4 is disturbing. Edit : My problem isn't whether or not it's satire. My problem is that some people (foreigners) believe it's actually real and assume this is just a "normal" thing in our culture and it contributes to the fetishisation and infantilisation of Chinese women. I just wanted to let people know that this isn't normal. Edit 2 : OMG THANKS FOR 19K- lol, jk, I'm not that kind of person. I just wanted to add that I'm starting to think that none of you knows what satire even is. Satire is a form of criticism over political or social issues, which is NOT what this girl is doing. At most what this girl is doing is trolling, but with her saying in that interview bit that she's doing it to "pander to an audience with a specific fetish", I don't think it's trolling either. It's just gross.
@@dismurrart6648 I don't think it's satire in her case but I do think it's deliberate in the sense that she's only doing this for views and doesn't mean any of the things she's saying

Acting cute has been appealing to me because it means that person is comfortable enough to be a little cringy around me and not care. But this.... call the exorcist. She's gives Furby energy and I can't explain why.
i think it’s important to note that while she is acting childish with her mannerisms and voice, she also has disproportionately large breasts. which we can assume is for the male fanbase - wanting a childlike persona/facial characteristics with a mature female body (curves, large breasts, etc.) really makes you question the morals/ethics of the men that are into this.
That's exactly what I just said under another comment!! If anyone is attracted to this more than they are anything else they should really ask themselves why because for me it's very pedophilic. At the very least it's pedophile adjacent loll
I saw a very interesting story on Asian comic book stores. The way one “expert” explained it…he said it was not the place of government to impose morality on the artists, even if their work is widely regarded as “immoral”. I also learned a lot about how the culture informs the trends.
right it’s like a real life embodiment of that one caricature of anime girls except those traits don’t translate well outside of the realm of fiction and real world depictions of them are dodgy to say the least

@@ElixirSpiceYes I agree but in this case the juxtaposition is quite obvious. Womanly body x childlike everything else is a thing men particularly in east asia like. It's very weird and has roots in nearly every type of ism.
Aegyeo always made my skin crawl! I love SNSD but Sunny was always asked to do it and it seems like it was all she could do (while she’s actually a good dancer and a decent singer).
this is oddly timed. i just participated in a research study about american vs. chinese perceptions of sajiao and was talking about it with my mom and sister today. i asked my mom about it (she is a chinese immigrant) and she seemed to think it was some sign of femininity, whereas my americanized ass sees sajiao and feels my fight or flight instinct activating
Same, my mom expressed a similar sentiment. I feel like she was taught that using sajiao was a way in which women could get what they want. Meanwhile in America, we're taught to be confident and "take" what we want. At least that's my understanding of it all. Interesting cultural difference nevertheless.
My mum and I are both Chinese immigrants living in Austria, and sajiao will bring us both into fight or flight mode. Many years ago, when we visited family in China, we both went to Chengdu for a couple of days and witnessed how a girl used sajiao on her boyfriend. It was very over the top, to the point where my mum and I both looked at her with shock. Like, what is this kindergarten? We have been in Austria for over 20 years and are not used to this kind of behaviour. It is very bizarre. I personally find it sad that girls in China use sajiao either to get validation from men or to get their way.
I would say its different levels of sajiao. The level shown in this video was too extreme💀 just slightly being cute and using that to your advantage to get what you want, sure. But this, oof, this is just a pick me b*tch, let alone sajiao.
I find this absolutely fascinating as a case study in psychology across cultures of the unrealistic standards of beauty and the correlation of the over sexualization of children world wide.
@@raerohan4241 if a person is doing unbiased research they should consider all aspects of the subject matter being studied. This being satire would not exclude the material from the study over all. I'm pretty sure she conciously does this because it gets clicks, not because people actually find it cute. At least from what I see, people sort of hate her lol.
So correct me if I’m wrong but Chinese novels have led me to believe “Green tea bitch” is sort of slightly different from pick me girls in America because “green tea” girls are pretending to be innocent and pure and are often gold diggers who backstab other women for men. They’re also usually dressed cutesy and feminine. Pick me girls are more straightforward in their dislike for other girls and preferences for male friends. They usually just want male validation and aren’t aiming for long term relationships or money or anything. They are tomboyish too, and can make “not wearing makeup/ not being good at makeup ” a whole personality.

Here’s my problem- by constantly saying “I just turned 18.” and really pushing the barely legal baby voice/mannerism, she is purposely playing into the fetishization of the infantilizing women. A lot of female beauty and societal standards are based on women mimicking little girls: shaving off all hair related to puberty, soft high childlike voices, no wrinkles or any sign of aging, etc… It’s deeply disturbing.
She is trolling, and adult women have no wrinkles, this has nothing to do with looking like a child and being hairless is just about being clean. Plenty of people are hairless, like Asians and humans are attracted to other ”youthful“ humans, it is our nature, our brain understands it as more healthy and this is not about "infantility," most of us associate old age with sickness and etc, that is why most humans go after a mate that is youthful, we always associate youth with good health while old age with bad health, this goes both ways. By the way, I mean 15-25 and not a toddler, these beauty standards are not about mimicking a toddler. Soft voices can be easily explained, it simply sound pleasant to most human ears and there is nothing disturbing about any of these. You are viewing that in such way, so you may be the one with a disturbing mindset.
@@EinkleinerVogel Adult women do have wrinkles? Everyone gets wrinkles at some point. Also, body hair has nothing to do with being clean. You literally just need soap and water, and maybe deodorant. Even taking into consideration the "culture of acting cute", she's just waaaay over there.
@@ivy-gp5to There's a line between cute behavior and fetishization of children. Surely you can have a partner who acts cute and find them adorable. Omg she reminds me of this woman who had a crush on my partner (he and I weren't dating at the time, just friends), and she would speak in this high pitched, cutesy voice despite being a 27 year old at the time. Every so often her real voice would come out, but even without the slip ups, it was kind of obvious she was faking it. To be fair, she seemed to have some mental health stuff going on (from what I could tell, she had a desperate desire to be loved/liked). last I heard, she's started working on it through therapy so I'm pretty happy for her.
Finally someone talked about this. Also wanted to talk about something related to this. As a Chinese person I am really disturbed by these sort of “pick me”behaviors, but not because of the girls and boys doing it, but because of the people who actually fell for these unusual actions. Like, grils will literally call themselves a “baby”(yeah, like toddlers) in order to gain attraction and attention from men. This is just terrifying, if a male only loves female when they pretend to be children, I can’t help but think that he is pedophilia and I don’t think those real children around him who are actually under 18 are safe. These beauty standards which forces women to act “cute” or “childish” almost exit everywhere on the Asian internet. Now young girls and boys will force themselves to fit into these standards because of the amount of people attracted to this. They even created specific nouns for these standards or aesthetic, for example “奶” which means “milk”literally, but also have the meaning of “like a baby”. And “纯欲” which means “looking pure(underage)and mature(sexual)at the same time”. Aside from this, people literally started to force babies that are 3~5years old fit into this crooked standard. They bought them sexy-designed clothes and high heels that usually grownups wear and call it ”奶辣风” which kinda means “sexually kawaii” if you know what I mean. It’s just horrible. Somebody please stop this.
Boys also. Some “pick me”boys on Chinese tik tok will pretend to be young and talk in a squeaky sound in order to try to get “mature women”’s attention. They act like a toddler and pretend to cry all the time, only to be similar to a real toddler.

You said it.😐
thank you for saying this.
LOL Whshshs she mentioned it herself in one of her duoyin videos “they’re pedophilic perverts” 😭😭😭
Satire is a form of criticism over political or social issues, which is NOT what this girl is doing. i think it’s important to note that while she is acting childish with her mannerisms and voice, she also has disproportionately large breasts. which we can assume is for the male fanbase - wanting a childlike persona/facial characteristics with a mature female body (curves, large breasts, etc.) really makes you question the morals/ethics of the men that are into this.

Pick me’s in China are called “green tea bitch”?
So correct me if I’m wrong but Chinese novels have led me to believe “Green tea bitch” is sort of slightly different from pick me girls in America because “green tea” girls are pretending to be innocent and pure and are often gold diggers who backstab other women for men. They’re also usually dressed cutesy and feminine. Pick me girls are more straightforward in their dislike for other girls and preferences for male friends. Here’s my problem- by constantly saying “I just turned 18.” and really pushing the barely legal baby voice/mannerism, she is purposely playing into the fetishization of the infantilizing women.
A lot of female beauty and societal standards are based on women mimicking little girls: shaving off all hair related to puberty, soft high childlike voices, no wrinkles or any sign of aging, etc…
It’s deeply disturbing.
"Asians and humans"? Asians are humans; what do you mean? Most people post-puberty develop body hair, some more than others, but almost everyone gets it, unless you have a condition. So being a pick me isn't just appealing to the opposite sex. It's a term for women who seek and crave male validation at the expense of themselves or women in general. They are riddled with internalized misogyny and will throw women under the bus and perpetuate said misogyny for a man. I guess the name equivalent would be a simp, but people misuse that word a lot so tbh not even then. She's in her 30s and looks like that?! I was thinking she was in her 20s and pretending to be a few years younger... but I'm surprised that she believably looks 18 (even out of character) in her 30s.
I've seen expression that "Asians are either raisins or vampires", like either over 80 or under 18 no matter the real age. I guess that's true to people from the rest of the world than East Asia.
Nah the lady is obvs playing a character- theres legit whole ass vids of her breakinh character bc of the absurdity of the persona ToT
She's 34
Ironically it's cuter when she accidentally breaks character and starts laughing with her real voice
Coquette means women being flirtatious in french, not being a baby, I hate that its now attributed to that, its so cringe
one could argue it also attributes to "young women" but even then, young women are not little girls.
This.
Same how lolita is a p3do book but also a super cute modest dressing style
Im French and please.. just don't.
Its kinda mean that imwhen you seach the word in a dictionary Technically coquette mean a woman who loves taking care of herself,(Hair, makeup etc......men equivalent is coquet used as a ''c'est un homme coquet"" - he's a coquet men but its not a very used term)
"How are actors not feeling embarrassed?" My theater teacher in high school said that if you feel embarrassed, that you are doing it right. 💀 idk if she was right, but definitely made me think that acting wasnt not for me.
"Everytime I hear one of these its always against my will..." Bruh sameeee!
Pretty ironic that this guy would be a symptom of the rise of pick me guys in internet culture but w/e, you do you.
Lee Know’s hostage held-at-gunpoint aegyo is too funny to hate honestly
I love Han next to him just going 'ugh.'
I laugh everytime, he literally dies inside even before having to do it 💀💀😭
like, his soul leaves his body
Jisung next to him looking like he wants to kill himself hhhh
I felt his pain. 😢
I know, Im a stay and I love how openly Lee Know and I.N despise aegyo 😂. I wish they werent forced to do it anymore though, they cringe so bad 😂. Let Changbin do double aegyp duty, im sure hed love to.
Protruding ears were a beauty standard?? I looked like Alfalfa as a baby and my grandma mentioned taping down my ears because they stuck out so much😭I wish it had been more commonly accepted over here in the US.
I now like my ears and put my hair behind them while easily being able to show off the earrings I like. But, for a while, I hated them because of little jokes my family would make, which I took seriously because I was just a child.
It’s said to make your face look smaller, hence, cuter
I’m sorry. I was called ‘monkey’ a lot because of mine. I was young so I guess my head was smaller, making them look bigger. If not, they’re not big at all anyway , but I’m glad you were able to rise above it.
They call it "elf ears" I think, therefore cute
And they do this on purpose. There’s something they can put behind their ears to push them out.
In my country at 8 the govt freely stitches your protruding ears back.😂
That cough had such a deep voice behind it 😂😂😂
Time stamp?

Her voice does my head in.
The face of disgust I had this whole video 💀
I know, I know...
YeH i wanted to jump from the window
she's definitely playing a character, she earns money from it and basically creates a whole internet phenomenon so good for her i guess
This physically HURTS!
I'm losing brain cells watching this... But I gots nothing else to do 👍👍
Omg she reminds me of this woman who had a crush on my partner (he and I weren't dating at the time, just friends), and she would speak in this high pitched, cutesy voice despite being a 27 year old at the time.
Yes please stop this 😳 wth
That's scary
What in the hell
i like how the "hostage situation aegyo" is lee know contemplating life decisions right before and after doing the aegyo LMAO. moreover han's reaction to it was all the more comical 😭😭
And that’s satirical and ironically real cuteness.
I learn chinese at university and me and my classmate started giggling cause we had to tell our age on chinese
And since I'm 18 and she's 19 we both started imitating this girl
Cute is cringe, but deadpan sarcasm never gets old. Great commentary!
as a chinese person she’s SATIRE she’s making fun of the girls who DO talk like this unironically
i don't think being this committed to it is "making fun" of anything, more like using it to sell
The only way this would be satire is if she was only acting this way in the interview. If she's doing this on every video she uploads of herself then it's not satire anymore.
It's not satire if you do it in EVERY video
@@pillguy7029what if the whole account is satire tho
@@oneatlas6508 I already said if she's doing this on every single video then it isn't satire 🤦🏿♂️
She has her target audiences, it’s all a show. It’s not even about feminism. She’s not like this in private, I mean if you’re Chinese you know what I’m talking about.
No shit it's not about feminism....it's about pedos
So only chinese pp understand weird childish behaviours now
Duh everyone knows she’s putting on a act
They don't, it's a meme
no? They are just referring to the fact that the Chinese audience can mostly tell that its all a satire. I dont get how people cant honestly
Dress sexy but acts like baby, got it. I'll never understand Men's taste
Disturbing fr
Imagine thinking men in general like this. If you are that level of dumb you might want to reconsider your worth as a human being.
Ikr
Yeah men are spooky 👻 the fuck are they into 😭😭😭
she put water balloons on her chest, you can't change my mind lol
I WAS SURPRISED TO SEE SUNOO AND JAKE IN A VIDEO OF CHINESE PICK MES 💀💀💀
BUT THEY R SO CUTE LOL! ENHYPEN FOREVER❤
SAME💀💀💀
Even with the cultural difference, I still don't know what man there finds this appealing
These contents are for the kind of men that disconnect with with reality
The type of dudes who'd debate you for hours because you told them lolicon content is weird
D cup?
Sane men definitely don't find this attractive, but there are creeps in every part of the world. But she is mostly just a cringy meme.
its not cultural difference. chinese people hate her too. thats like me saying every american find loli appealing
Fake cuteness is the one thing that is so fucking cringe that I can't stand it. Cuteness is endearing because its NOT INTENDED to be cute... this fake cuteness is just bad acting.
yeah we know that she is bad at acting, she knows too. This whole thing is a satire. She is something like a meme.
Its not bad acting, she acts like this so you know that shes acting, if shes good at acting, nobody will know that shes acting. She just want you to feel irritated and angry so your brain remembers her 😂
I physically died inside while watching this
Being 77 lbs at 18 AND at her height is scary if she’s not lying about it.
Plus at that weight, she sure has a chest full of silicone. It really is cringe to the max.
She's 100% lying about both. Check her at 13:23 without the filters on. Unless she's like under 5ft tall, she's not 77 lbs. Also, I'm sorry but with a chest like that she's not 18 either. I'd vote she's probably in her mid 20s and about 125-135lbs (her chest alone must be close to 10lbs)
Her chest size has nothing to do with age, trust me. But her weight can be exaggerated but it can be real though concerning.
@@NinjaKittkattbuddy i had like a 70C at 16... chest has nothing to do with age.
@@NinjaKittkatt I don't know what it is about her chest but it looks stuffed? Fake? I don't mean implants. They hang in a really uncanny way, kind of like the girls in those dime a dozen video game ads with the enormous hanging chests clearly drawn/designed by men who don't know how boobs work. Mind you, I'm no expert, and it could just be her entire uncanny look is throwing my brain off.
Her voice!! 😱 It cuts through my brain . . . 😵
I can handle aegyo in small doses. Also, when Sunny does it, it's usually because someone else requested it, and she's immediately embarrassed after. With Miao Miao Qiu, it's her whole personality. This getting pushed to everyone is a nightmare.
I'm glad I saw someone reacting to your stuff, now I just watch your stuff, and so much is so weird. Also you are hilarious.
The fact that people find acting like a literal baby to be attractive is downright disgusting and pedophilic.
thankfully she’s attracting pdfiles to her instead of little girls 🤢🤢🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮 it’s still nauseating
And the people that find people who act like babies to be attractive is probably still worse
I googled how many people are pedophiles yesterday because i was afraid of the answer and one study found 1/6 australian men attracted to kids, with 10 percent having offended!!!
This is nothing new in Asian cultures like the Japanese one I'm afraid. They have entire cults around way too young girls who are thrusted into "pop stardom" via local scenes and social media, and their followings are 90% middle aged men. It's repulsive.
And that's her target audience. Most people hate her in China and she's only famous for being made fun of
The fact that you thought that coquette was the same as croquette is why I love your videos.🤣🤣
I thought the same thing 😂
the aegyo jumpscares were painful-
GUYS SHE IS JOKINGGG PLEASEEEEEE. She breaks character like multiple times, no one actually acts like this 😭
Yep. I was 18 for almost 60 years. Then reality set in.
Thanks for this. And thanks for the great grand kids getting me to watch it. I needed a few laughs.
As a big chested girl myself, there is no way she weighs 35kg with those things. Even not including her chest, I would expect 35kg to look a lot more malnourished at her height.
well shes definitely not 18 either tbf lol
Period. Sometimes it feels like them thangs weigh 35 kg all by themselves 😭
Jealous and insecure?
We kinda got exposed to the western equivalent to this kind of persona with London Tipton and Cat Valentine. When someone asks what Aegyo is I say it's like them but even more naive T-T and then they're like "But they were so annoying." Well yeah exactly. There's a thing like too much, lol.
The Cat Valentine era caused me physical pain
@@VampyBlood17 it’s primarily the “YAAAAY MEEE” Parts of her character and the pouting when things don’t go her way. The flailing and stuff. I liked her cause she could be very sassy, but if you were to place her in the real world it would quickly feel a bit annoying.
@@Beelzebubby91 Yeah see her character was already more than enough, imagine a whole part of the world where thousands or even millions of girls kinda act like that 😭
@@anasianemo that was my middle school
@@Beelzebubby91 they had a “ahaha” cat valentine phase? Gosh yeah it was a cursed time. So many wannabe’s were born in that era 😭😭😭
jake will NEVER live that down 😭
Fr i don't think he will do aegyo ever again after his viral fancam 😭
What's fascinating to me is the fact that she got internet famous with no base social media account. She literally just teleports and appears everywhere
Remember That Plumber Truck In Syria Yeah Sometimes That Happens When Your Trade In Your Old Work Truck And Pretty Soon Your Old Chapter 11 Plumbing Contractor Business Is Receiving Worldwide Media Coverage Because Your Company's Phone Number Is Still On That Truck
great social commentary! not bullying just talking about how it's interesting. much appreciated
Considering that she keeps mentioning being born in 2005, I'm honestly curious to see if she will actually start saying she's 19 in a year
literally being thrown into a fckn crisis from this because I'm currently 19 born in 2003 and I can't comprehend this lmao--
she is a troll. stop taking everything from china so serious
the fact that she’s acc 34 😭😭
@@lkaadmurah lmfaooo is she really is there any proof on this?
@@eo0-g9jyeah, but we wanna know how long she'll keep up the act and if she's gonna continue the 18yo shtick or not. the level of commitment she's put into this character makes it entertaining to think about where she's planning to go with it, or if she's gonna quietly disappear from the media before the year passes and birthdays have to be addressed
Take care? This things instills me with rage lmao.
I feel like we do have aegyo in the West but it’s waaay watered down. The manic pixie dream girl is a good example like “uwu I’m so clumsy and I leave cupcakes in my garden for the fairies that live there” Being all quirky and having magical thinking on purpose to gain attention. If you’re naturally like that, that’s totally fine but some people fake it so others find them endearing
i cant tell if i naturally like that or adapted to being like that… i didnt know that type of person was a thing 😃
Or like woman pretending they don't know how to do things as a form of flirtation
