I guess I just got lucky because ps3, ps4, ps4 pro, Xbox, Xbox 360 , Xbox one, Xbox one x, and the Nintendo switch were extremely easy for me. But PS5 and Xbox series X felt like a miracle was accomplished by securing a pre-order
Same thing happened w the switch and no one talked about. When they ran out of stock, Everytime walmart or target or best buy got in new stock scalpers had their bots buy them as soon as they launched and sold them for double the retail price. I had to buy mine from a scalper for almost $500. It's ridiculous and fucked up.

I can't decide which was way more hilarious: Microsoft botching their pre-orders after they had just mocked Sony for doing the same or people mistaking the XOX for the XSX & buying that🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Seriously Xbox should do a better job at naming their consoles. Retailers let loose before the date Sony said in the video. It started going live on sites only a couple hours after the price and preorder date announcement. It is why I actually got a preorder.
@sekazi that’s not entirely true. Sonys event didn’t include the preorder date or time, only the launch date. We had to find out the preorder information from a tweet from Geoff Keighley after the event.

But I think most people would prefer to at least have a chance at preordering their favourite console as opposed to the PS5 selling out before they even knew it was open. They missed out and never had an opportunity. Sure people missed out everywhere on both sides, but I feel more cheated by the chaotic PS5 preorder system.

Both are equally at fault(same with the PS side), though IMO Microsoft gets a bit more of the blame, because they had even less pre-order stocks than the PS5, which is dumb.
Regardless PS5 or Xbox I am gonna wait until most of this madness goes down not worth the headache plus gives me more time for games to come out and see what other updates will come out and what these consoles can really do.

Yes!!!! Built my own gaming pc in February and I will never look back. Stop wasting your money guys learn a new skill and end up with a product that is infinitely upgradable and will most likely never be unserviceable in the next decade to come. Great bang for your buck!!
You'll have to spend a few thousand just to get close to the power the XSX pushes. Plus upgrading GPU, CPU & RAM every year or two isn't cheap. So enjoy being broke and not affording anything else while Xbox sits backs and laughing at "PC Master Race".
@@JamesDC42 Nah, you only really need to upgrade the CPU once in a great while, unless you really want (preferably justify) the latest and greatest. 32GB of 3600 RAM is about right for the next several years I'd say, and GPU, just get a 3070 if you can get your hands on that, and it would be solid for another good amount of years. Of course, I ultimately do not care for games, a literal potato could run Unreal Tournament 2004 which is all I really care about. So have fun wasting your time while I use my rig for more productive things because it is designed that way.
And for a few games to come out, yeah. Starting lineups are usually pretty bad, and it takes a while for companies to have developed some games for this new platform. Definitely gonna wait for that

Ordering from the Microsoft store was the easiest process I've been through in years. It already had my payment details and address and I had it ordered within minutes.
How is this worse than ps5 preorder when sony couldn’t even coordinate the actual preorder and control the e-tailers. I think people expect too much from the servers of these retailers. This much traffic is going to break almost all the servers.

YellowFlash made a great point on his video. There's a good number of parents who feel they've accomplished a lot and have already got their kids the "big" Christmas gift, but their kids are in for a big disappointment Christmas morning when they open up a Xbox One X rather than a Series X.

In terms of capability both consoles are the same and how the Series X is put together it'll never use all those Tflops, the extra storage is nice but the PS5 is the faster console. I feel like getting upset with Microsoft for some issues like this during the pandemic, while only including 10 seconds of bringing up Sony's launch as being just as bad, is a bit hypocritical. To be fair, it wasn't a surprise that ff16 is an exclusive. Elder scrolls being system exclusive is definitely bigger ripple stuff since they've been so massively multiplat till now
I felt your pain. I spent the whole day (8am release here in Victoria, AU) sat in front of my computer, because EB Games crashed repeatedly on launch. Literally, they crashed at 8am so paused the pre-orders.. then told everyone to come back at midday to try again after an inventory check, then the midday re-launch got moved to 3pm without any warning at 17 minutes to go... the 3pm time slot was chaos and the system crashed yet again. I gave up entirely. BUT... someone commented on Facebook that it had randomly reopened around 4pm, and I FINALLY got my pre-order. A whole day. Just for this darn console. And it was only by chance that I managed to preorder one. I could have slept in! 😂

After Amazon not even listing at 8am here in the UK and other sites being on fire I got lucky and ordered straight from MS. Their cart ate itself a few times but finally... success.

I had a fairly pleasant experience with my preorder all things considered. There were a few issues through gamestop thanks to a ton of traffic on the site but was able to place my order, in fact, placed two by accident! Lol.
Maybe you Americans should just stop having 5 pages open, and refreshing them every second making the sites crash lol. Just move to Europe, pre orders are still available.
It was crazy with the preorders. I went to a local GameStop and 6 people were waiting in line an hour before opening and they had a sign that said only 6 series x available. After 3 hours of trying online I managed to get one on the Best Buy website.

I'm confused on why you would try to buy something online and not be logged into your account? I was logged into Gamestop, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, MS Store, Newegg, and Amazon 15 minutes before preorders went live and updated my shipping address and credit card info so all I had to do was click buy. I secured a Series X at Wal-Mart and a Series S at Best Buy, no problems whatsoever.

I'm sorry but this is just the limitation of websites it isn't surprising this happens with almost every big console release. Also he was literally staring at the checkout button you have to click it in order to buy it.
If you put the item in the cart and log in afterwards you are not on cooldown. If you are refreshing the site like an idiot the website thinks you are a bot and set you on cooldown and you most likely get an error code because of overheating the servers. lol This way i could easily snipe one of each console. Could get more if i wanted. Ok not atm because of sold out but yeah......... everyone will get the desired plastic sooner or later.

They had a sign on the door saying they only got 5 XSX available, but I was able to get one because I was number 4. All it cost me was the down payment, and sitting in a chair for a few hours, while actually having a pretty good time chatting with the others in line about video games for a while too. I'm starting to enjoy all the salty tears every one has about preordering these systems, because both were so painless for me. I already said how I got the Xbox Series X, but I just happened to be online when the PS5 preorders went up and I got one on amazon with no hassle. Might not get one on launch day from them because of their latest email, but at least I'll have the Xbox to keep me busy that week.

@@adamlennard1828 Game UK was a little bit problematic initially at 8am but there was a queue up and I managed to get through in roughly 20 minutes or so. The website did go down for a few hours after that so I think they were hit heavier than most due to them and Smyths being the only UK suppliers offering the All Access financing option. But still, I think nowhere near the disruption that the US seems to be suffering.

Paypal is pretty safe and quick to refund duplicate transactions, but a lot of big name online retailers do not like processing PayPal payments. It's honestly a miracle he got one from Target...

My local retailer actually let you place preorders to the preorders months ago...if you´r one of their regulars.

Ordering from the Microsoft store was the easiest process I've been through in years. It already had my payment details and address and I had it ordered within minutes.
How is this worse than ps5 preorder when sony couldn’t even coordinate the actual preorder and control the e-tailers.

YellowFlash made a great point on his video. There's a good number of parents who feel they've accomplished a lot and have already got their kids the "big" Christmas gift, but their kids are in for a big disappointment Christmas morning when they open up a Xbox One X rather than a Series X.

In terms of capability both consoles are the same and how the Series X is put together it'll never use all those Tflops, the extra storage is nice but the PS5 is the faster console. As I said side by side you won't notice a difference.

I feel like getting upset with Microsoft for some issues like this during the pandemic, while only including 10 seconds of bringing up Sony's launch as being just as bad, is a bit hypocritical. Also, as a nintendo fan, you should be well used to console shortages considering it's been their sales strategy since the launch of the Wii

I felt your pain. I spent the whole day (8am release here in Victoria, AU) sat in front of my computer, because EB Games crashed repeatedly on launch. Literally, they crashed at 8am so paused the pre-orders.. then told everyone to come back at midday to try again after an inventory check, then the midday re-launch got moved to 3pm without any warning at 17 minutes to go... the 3pm time slot was chaos and the system crashed yet again. I gave up entirely. BUT... someone commented on Facebook that it had randomly reopened around 4pm, and I FINALLY got my pre-order.
A whole day. Just for this darn console. And it was only by chance that I managed to preorder one. I could have slept in! 😂

I had a fairly pleasant experience with my preorder all things considered. There were a few issues through gamestop thanks to a ton of traffic on the site but was able to place my order, in fact, placed two by accident! Lol.
Maybe you Americans should just stop having 5 pages open, and refreshing them every second making the sites crash lol.

It was crazy with the preorders. I went to a local GameStop and 6 people were waiting in line an hour before opening and they had a sign that said only 6 series x available. After 3 hours of trying online I managed to get one on the Best Buy website.
I get what you mean about the anouncement not being hype worthy because there's years till we see a game come from this announcement but geez, how about a bit of positivity? That's like seeing Nintendo when they announced BOTW 2 and going "ohhh nah that's not out for years..bleh not excited"

I'm confused on why you would try to buy something online and not be logged into your account? I was logged into Gamestop, Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, MS Store, Newegg, and Amazon 15 minutes before preorders went live and updated my shipping address and credit card info so all I had to do was click buy.
I secured a Series X at Wal-Mart and a Series S at Best Buy, no problems whatsoever.

I had no issues buying mine on the Microsoft store. Got my order in 2 minutes after pre-orders went live.
I'm sorry but this is just the limitation of websites it isn't surprising this happens with almost every big console release. Also he was literally staring at the checkout button you have to click it in order to buy it.
If you put the item in the cart and log in afterwards you are not on cooldown. If you are refreshing the site like an idiot the website thinks you are a bot and set you on cooldown and you most likely get an error code because of overheating the servers. lol This way i could easily snipe one of each console. Could get more if i wanted. Ok not atm because of sold out but yeah......... everyone will get the desired plastic sooner or later.

Then why didn't you just do that? I went to Gamestop around 7am, and was able to preorder one. They had a sign on the door saying they only got 5 XSX available, but I was able to get one because I was number 4. All it cost me was the down payment, and sitting in a chair for a few hours, while actually having a pretty good time chatting with the others in line about video games for a while too.
I'm starting to enjoy all the salty tears every one has about preordering these systems, because both were so painless for me. I already said how I got the Xbox Series X, but I just happened to be online when the PS5 preorders went up and I got one on amazon with no hassle. Might not get one on launch day from them because of their latest email, but at least I'll have the Xbox to keep me busy that week.
Walmart sold out in seconds. Best Buy was stuck at coming soon. I got my Xbox Series X on Amazon an hour after launch.

@@adamlennard1828 Game UK was a little bit problematic initially at 8am but there was a queue up and I managed to get through in roughly 20 minutes or so. The website did go down for a few hours after that so I think they were hit heavier than most due to them and Smyths being the only UK suppliers offering the All Access financing option. But still, I think nowhere near the disruption that the US seems to be suffering.
Got both mine on Amazon uk no problem albeit the series x page had a few jitters at the start.
