Reporting 2 years later....it is 2022 and on December 13th I bought a series X, also from Bestbuy, and it started turning off on its own in the first 30 minutes of use. Best Buy sells faulty Xboxes

Honestly it would mean a lot to me if I won the giveaway. I could tell you that I wanted to get the series x and the series s on release but was unable to as I can’t get a job. And I could mention how I’ve never won a giveaway before but, who isn’t going through that? There are those fortunate enough to be able to buy it or even win it through giveaways. Check eBay. There are some good third-party games that are affordable there (first-party games never really get reduced and so are really expensive, and there's a good chance your friend will buy them for himself, or get them from his parents anyway).
Find out what genre of game your friend likes (e.g. fighting, open world, platformer, puzzle), then do a Google search to find the best in that genre for the Switch, then see if you can find an affordable copy online.
Alternatively, you could buy them a gift card for the Eshop. That way they can get whatever they want!
