    Just got done spraying inside and out of my frame and underneath the 81 with the fluid film,,used air spray gun off of Amazon ,,and I got a gallon of the fluid film,,probably got enough to do it 3 or 4 more times,,getting it done before the wet season gets here,,seen a lot of good reviews on the stuff ,,I did fire up the charcoal grill and heated what I used in a stainless bowl over the charcoals,,not t hot but just warmed it,,seems like other folks has better Luck air spraying it like that,,,sprayed flawlessly

    Question: How’s the front lunchbox locker on the road? Noisy? Or don’t notice any hiccups?

    • @6thGearGarage
      @6thGearGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't even use it on the road unless there's a few inches of snow. It's almost impossible to steer with the front locked in on dry pavement.

    • @naplesnative2394
      @naplesnative2394 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@6thGearGarage but when the front hubs are free/disengaged…. Should be good then right? Thanks for your fast response! 🤙

    • @6thGearGarage
      @6thGearGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@naplesnative2394 Yeah it's fine then. What I'd do in snow storms or driving offroad is lock in the front hubs and drive in 2wd. Then if I got into a slick spot I'd shift into 4wd and get unstuck, then go back to 2wd. That way I didn't have to get out of the truck. I'd also keep air pressure in the tank to push the button to lock the rear if needed, but just locking the rear and not being in 4wd w/ front hubs locked caused a lot of fishtailing on snowy roads.

    Hey, I was wondering if you remembered where you got replacement rubber for your windows when you did the restoration? I’m about to repaint mine and I can’t seem to find anyone with replacement rubber.

      I got them from another parts truck, but the last time I checked, they were still available new from Toyota. I’d check the parts dept at your dealership.

      I have a 87' been driving it since 87' now has 500,000 on it, never broke down. Of course Ive had several engines, trans, transfers, rear diffs....My advice...OEM parts when you can. Some not available but many are....

      Don't drive it in the winter if you're up north/east/widwest where salt is used. That's the biggest downfall of these trucks. Keep that frame clean inside & out.

      Hallo! About rust protection. I can recommend new technology KROWN. This brand came to our region about fife years ago. I have protected my Toyota 4Runner 1989 and one friend of mine has protected his Mercedes Gelendvagen 1980 about three years ago. All rust became black color and not going more. Small rust has disappear. This technology is good especially for internal frame space.

    Oh man i wish my truck looked this good. It did when i bought it 4yrs ago. I mean my drivetrain is built. 5.29 and air lockers front and rear with 300m axle shafts. People think i have a toyota doubler but its actually an atlas. I want to start a channel for this truck cuz its the only truck i know of that has an atlas to the original toyota case. How would its a very simple build with only 2.5" OME springs and on 35's. Dont think people would like it. I do daily it nd when i mean daily i drive it everyday to and from work and to the trails
