Avatar is easily one my favorite animated tv show it told such a beautiful story with amazing characters and it didn't overstay its welcome they told their 3 season arc and bounced
I would rather be a waterbender, they're useful as shit. Able to heal others, drain the water out of things to use as a weapon, like earthbenders they are capable of simultaneous offense and defense while still being able to see your opponent, freely changing water into ice and back, even while trapped in it. You should also remember that most fights with waterbenders make them use water they brought with them so not a lot, yet they still seem as powerful as the other benders despite this drawback so try fighting one next to the sea or while it is raining. And that is WITHOUT bloodbending or the truly bullshit levels that waterbenders reach in Legend of Korra where you can destroy someones soul with it and permanently take away bending(Unless there happens to be an energybender nearby to undo that).
Yeah, except Water bending is too slow and flowy. And require actual water to be present. Healing aside, if you take the other forms of bending to their logical extremes, they're just as deadly as water bending. I will admit that you have a point with Water bending being capable of both offense and defense and being flexible in when and how you can do either, but to me, bending which does not require a physical source to be provided to you is superior. That means Fire and Air. Particularly, Air, TBH. But Fire is more badass. I'd choose Earth for Metal bending, Lava bending, and potentially Magnetic bending, as well as being able to just reduce anything made of carbon to its base components (this is the "logical extremes" I was talking about earlier.) but, IMO, Earth bending is too slow and inflexible for me. You can't really be defeated if you're 1. Never hit(Air bending), or 2. So destructive in the first place that you overwhelm the enemy(Fire bending). I mean. Getting rocks chucked at you, water whips, ice spikes, and wind blasts is one thing. But, if we consider the psychological effects of battle, *Fire* has an edge in that department, too. Finally, if you want me to lay out the "logical extremes" of Fire and Air bending to put them in perspective with Water's Blood bending and what I just said about Earth bending and us being carbon-based lifeforms, just drop a reply to this and I'd be glad to tell you. :)

My bending abilities would definitely be earth. I am a Taurus and every personality quiz I've ever taken has given me earth and I agree with it 100%. If I had a specialty earth bending ability it would probably be magma bending. I think that suits me quite well. What I would use that for in modern day times is anyone's guess though.

If you are a true master of air you can do anything you want with it you can take a firebenders flame and use it as your own without being an avatar cuz air is 21% nitrogen. You can remove the air from someone completely making their ears explode. You can put an air bubble in someone's artery making it travel to the brain and then explode or. To the heart anywhere really. You can even make a vacuum of air putting someone in that vacuum while they still have air in their lungs .Their lungs would rupture allow them to no longer breathe. and if you pressurize the air that you're using and put it on someone's skin you can give them frostbite. And you can also make explosions if you can pressurize the air just enough you can make a giant explosion

It's hard for me to pick which bending I want. It would depend on how much I could experiment and how far I could logically take it. Practically speaking, I don't like relying on needing something present to bend, so that rules out water and earth. I don't like being slow so that rules out Earth and kinda rules out Water. I don't have time to be flowy and perfect, so again, water gets dumped on. Water Bending can also be deleted by killing either the moon or ocean spirits. Now it comes to Fire and Air. On one hand, if the limits are up to your imagination and practice, I kinda want air. I could literally control fire (or at least delete it) with Air bending by taking the oxygen out of flames. That is, unless the fire from Fire bending doesn't NEED oxygen since it's powered by chi. Then again, I could use vacuums to reduce friction on myself and "suck" my attacks toward my opponents, making them faster and such. I could breathe underwater or in space, and, technically, I could keep myself from getting too cold by keeping a vacuum between me and the winter air. At the extreme, I could literally deoxygenate peoples' blood, killing them, or hyper-vacuum suck their lungs/organs, eyes, ears, whatever. Hell, SOUND bending or pressure bending might be an extension of Air bending, in which case I can become completely silent, or literally kill someone or demolish buildings with a 200+decibel sonic blast at the right frequencies. Then again, if buildings are made of brick, I can just remove the oxygen from the brick and it will all crumble to dust. Taking it further, AKA Naruto style, Air bending done right can become a legitimate cutting and piercing tool all on its own. I’m always between fire and earthbending it doesn’t help my two favorite characters were iroh and toph but choosing one I’d be an earthbender my eyes are on the weaker end i need glasses and are slightly photosensitive I really hate flashing lights they fuck with my eyes too much and how toph sees is basically vibrations in the ground act as a mental map so the sooner I learn how to see with my feet the sooner my vision becomes that much greater

I believe there was a misunderstanding between guru and (edit:autocorrect) aang personally, at the start of opening the chakra gates he said that you let your emotions and stuff flow through these gates and run there natural course. Not forgetting them or denying they exist, but accepting that they are a part of you and letting them come and go when they do. The final gate (how I see it anyway) wasn’t abandoning katara and forgetting her but accepting what she is to him and be willing to let her go if she did leave (which she doesn’t). The misunderstanding comes from patik’s poor communication and aang’s attachment to katara furthered this misunderstanding and the show continued the way it. That’s how I see it anyway...

I’m always between fire and earthbending it doesn’t help my two favorite characters were iroh and toph but choosing one I’d be an earthbender my eyes are on the weaker end i need glasses and are slightly photosensitive I really hate flashing lights they fuck with my eyes too much and how toph sees is basically vibrations in the ground act as a mental map so the sooner I learn how to see with my feet the sooner my vision becomes that much greater
Really, I'd have to choose between fire or air. Water and earth are cool but theyre just not for me. I like fire and air because, They don't really need a supply. Also I feel like air is one of the most versatile elements. Fire is just badness. 🔥

I believe there was a misunderstanding between guru and (edit:autocorrect) aang personally, at the start of opening the chakra gates he said that you let your emotions and stuff flow through these gates and run there natural course. Not forgetting them or denying they exist, but accepting that they are a part of you and letting them come and go when they do. The final gate (how I see it anyway) wasn’t abandoning katara and forgetting her but accepting what she is to him and be willing to let her go if she did leave (which she doesn’t). The misunderstanding comes from patik’s poor communication and aang’s attachment to katara furthered this misunderstanding and the show continued the way it. That’s how I see it anyway...
