Well apparently Chicagoans are more refined with more culture than Washingtonians at the subway station during rush hour, while Joshua Bell was playing a few years ago, completely ignored LOL
I remember hearing about that... I was living in DC at the time... To be honest I don't know if I would have recognized him, or the quality of the music or instrument during my "must get there" mentality...
What a mesmerizing performance. Wonderful young orchestra. Even that older man chiming in at the middle seems to integrate quite nicely. Could no one bring him a chair when he moved to the back (probably the poor guy felt embarrassed for popping into the middle and later realized it's not his place). Someone had to explain it to him so he would know better. But that's the risk you run when you plan a pop-up concert, the most unpredictable can happen.
Aw, he was just happy to be there. And did you notice how happy the brunette cellist with the bun and the sparkles around her neck was to see him? Million dollar smile that one.
Can anyone tell me what the concerto was? It sounded like a violin concerto. Bach or Vivaldi or Handel? I could only tell it was Baroque and sounded most like Bach

Yo yo Ma is always solo and there is nothing special here. The orchestra would probably sound much better with out him. Every video he is by himself and personally no matter how great...a solo act gets boring.
Don’t know why I never get tired of watching this
A beautiful piece and a superb ensemble - nicely played and congratulations to all those musicians for playing alongside Yo Yo Ma. Great performance!
Beautiful ❤
Yo Yo - LEGEND .....
Cool... Even Yo Yo is playing quite nicely... :-)

Wonderful sound - get that camera on a tripod!

Not his place? Older man chiming in? He was the soloist and his name is Yo-Yo Ma. He was in the right place
Is the modern copy of his 1733 Montagnana

Brandenberg Concerto 3 - J.S. Bach
Tchaikovsky Andante Cantabile
thank you very much for them , cause alive or not, the composers are to often forgotten when publishing a video

I believe that was Yo Yo Ma's Ma, Mama Ma.
I think you're getting the Civic Opera and Symphony Orchestra names confused.
