- One of the most realistic survival games is still heavily underrated, so today I tried finding out why. After being scared shitless, getting drunk, and exploring an insanely large map while being lost the whole time, it's safe to say I had fun. What are your opinions on Scum? Is it better than the likes of DayZ, Grounded, Green Hell, & 7 days to die? Or does it still need some development?

Calling all Scum pros... I need some tips because I wanna do another video on this game - drop them below!

I love scum. Haven't played it for a while, but to ease your way maybe try to craft simple weapons like a spear or a club just so you don't run away from most places because of ONE zombie. Fat zombies will be tougher to kill while skinny ones will sprint at you like f* cheetahs. You can make bandages out of pieces of clean cloth (any cloth can be broken down with any knife or scissors). With these pieces of cloth you can also make a primitive backpack for your first inventory, although backpacks are fairly easy to find. After that I believe your set up to start exploring and looting places. There's lot of ways to start playing scum, I just believe this will lead to less frustration for brand new players.
find 2 rcoks. ( in small piles along the road side) make a stone knife and cut some bushes. make a basic spear. then a bow and arrows. rope for the bow is made from small sticks when you cut the brush. a bow or spear is made from long sticks from the brush.
Best thing to do as a bambi is grab a few rocks off the ground first thing, craft a stone knife with them, cut down a large bush, then craft 2 wood spears with the large sticks. You can throw one spear and have a backup. They also reach through windows pretty good for headshots.
Im hosting a scum server called Kaliland search it and let me know when youre in so i can help you there as admin. I can give you a starter backpack with a few items to help your journey.
Side note, the reason you get kicked from public servers is cause your ping is registering higher than thier max, and usually alot of public servers will set the max ping low

The key is take it slow to learn the game and focus the basic survival skills. Food, water, temp. It has a pretty steep learning curve.
Man I love, it reminds me of the old days when I started scum in 2018. Now having over 1.6k hours on 2 accounts. I just forgot how hard is this game for someone who doesn't know anything about it 🤣🤣. Bro you need to start a short series and share the learning curve of the game, I would pay to see that just for the chuckles. Amazing content
That's what I love scum for. The ability to learn the game on your own before being thrown in a deathmatch with a server full of seasoned players.
I personally do part of the tutorial before i go anywhere near any buildings in case of zombies. Once you have a weapon its fine, but before that you end up dead 5000 times over.
With having just a hair under 700 hours in SCUM I have found that its a great game to play, especially with friends. I would defiantly recommend

The connection timeout could have been caused by the server reset (usually every 4 hours) after 3-5 minutes you can log back in
Scum is definitely one of my favorite games, I've played somewhere around 1200 hours or so since 2018, a great choice!

You play pure PvP? I've started Scum but I'm on a smaller server with less PvP. Enjoying it so far though!
@@-JackK2412 sorry I didn't get a notification for this, I play in a private server with a bunch of friends, pvp is always on and always an option, but killing each other is very rare and usually done in a comical way, overall the game is what you choose it to be, minus the recent bugs (now fixed)
bought it when it's on discount and have been playing it non-stop, still remember how surprised i was when i found out that the zombies could also jump just like your character
The key to the game is 1st make spear then poke zombies through a window
I love Scum. it's the only game i play now. So far I have 3100 hours on it - any tips you need just ask mate.

Dont sleep on the crafting system. After spawning you could have easily made a bag a bow and some arrows
The map in Scum is definitley big. I walked across the ntire map. It took 3 hours and 18 minutes.
lol that first " zombie ". I mostly enjoy playing Scum alone but a weapon, ( craft a spear first thing ) backpack, water and transportation are pretty crucial.

You landed in a bunker. You are lucky there are no mechs.
Multiplayer servers dont bug out, they restart every few hours to fix lag
I recommend you play The Cycle :Frontier
Follow tutorial....or play solo and use spawnitems command 😀 then u can have car, bombox, weapons, ... a perfect way to discover this great game

A year later and I bought the game. Its a lot of fun I got tired of DayZ this is a very nice change.

lol i have about 800 hours between both my steam accounts , but probs played 2 years ago seriously , and probs 3/4 times last year casually
I couldnt enjoy this game when i bought it , i would rather just play dayz if im looking for pvp or pz if i want pve but its nice to see somebody have some fun in this game
I highly suggest giving it another chance. I was in the same spot as you until I figured it out. Now I’m never going back to DayZ

the reason you got kick is a server reset, most servers reset every 2 hours, it's normal

as for the title, i assumed more players quit due to losing their weeks of progress base, or due to a esp cheater. ive watched admins steal peoples bases 1 day after its built and well hidden (using the admin powers) ive seen a ton of players rage at the admin because of this. (admins that play on their own servers) ive seen more players quit servers than stay. just to clear it up tho i am not dissing it, just what ive seen, i do still play. (1052 hours) the pvp invisible aspect ruins it for me, other than that its a great game. slow at times lol

I dunno I don’t like the developer. played the pre release they said we were getting early access codes. We weren’t, paid again for early access, then now I have to pay a third time to get it. Ridiculous.

I've got 1k hours now into scum and I love it. Such a beautiful game. Running on a 10 year old pc and since the latest patch it is running flawlessly. Idk how people have game crashes so much. I get maybe 1 or 2 a week on my old dinosaur and I play like 6-8hrs a day. In my time i have barely experienced any bugs and let's be honest i experience just as much bugs if not more in dayz. I played almost every survival game imaginable and this one takes the cake for me personally. Btw try crafting a spear or a bow to start with. Will make dealing with zombies a bit less complicated than it has to be. You cant just rush around this game unless your geared up decent. it will get you killed usually.

Short answer is no. It's fun at first but then you realize the downfalls of the game. It's had years of development and still has very little to do. Years of adding more vehicles, more guns, more barbie doll outfits but little to do with all of it.
Very little to do? You must be thinking of dayz. Compared to any other open world survival game out there this game has the most things to do or accomplish. Have you even tried the game lately. Be honest. How many hours have u even played scum like 10? Lol. What downfalls I'm also curious? The same downfalls as every other survival game?
@@whacc_ I have a couple hundred hours in. I downloaded it again after the traders came out and then I removed it again. Yawn. I had 1600 hrs in Dayz without counting the original mod. This is the emperor with no clothes.
The game will be sick. Right now there is a lot of time you can spend learning, like 300h+ easy. Not too much PVE content long term. For now. There is no other game like this. Talking 1000+ in game playing just PVE servers mosty. Community is so good, nothing like other games. Mainly because this game is not played by kids too much. Find PVE server for learning the game. Dont bother with official servers too much.
ist there pve? when i tried it in an earlier Stadium it only Had PvP (as far as i remember) and i'm Not a competitive Player. i Loved the mechanics and Details. but every Encounter with Other Players Just Led to dead and loss of inventory... frustrating
@@ERSLiquid search "pve only" in the search bar you should find a nice starting out server. There are plenty of great servers out there! And if your feeling like you get the hang of it and it's too easy search for "hardcore pve" or something along those lines when your ready for a challenge. That's mostly what I play now since I'm not much of a pvper anymore.

It's underrated because there's a lot to focus on which can be overwhelming to a lot of players with all the things that are micro managed. If it was as simple as dayz there would have been a shit ton of players playing scum. It's not for the light hearted to be honest lolz.

@@RyeGamesOfficial I mean the game had HUGE performance issues back in the day when it was popular. It had a lot of hackers the hit registration and hit boxes where just shit often times. The devs didn't really care and didn't add any content till today and etc.
I highly suggest taking another look at it. Hit boxes are so good now I end up shooting arrows between legs sometimes lol
@@hampdog5716 I doubt it. And it's a pretty much dead game anyway. Like the concept of the game is nice and I was also kinda hyped when I first played it but that hype soon turned into disappointment of how broken that game really is.
