I learned a few things after playing with Brazil. I wanted to use those insights with a new country... Turkey. Things don't seem as bad over here, but we can certainly improve them(It's for their own good).
Democracy 4 lets you take the role of President / Prime minister, govern the country (choosing its policies, laws and other actions), and both transform the country as you see fit, while trying to retain enough popularity to get re-elected...
Built on a custom-built neural network designed to model the opinions, beliefs, thoughts and biases of thousands of virtual citizens, Democracy 4 is the state-of-the-art in political simulation games. A whole new vector-graphics engine gives the game a more adaptable, cleaner user interface, and the fourth in the series builds on the past while adding a host of new features such as media reports, coalition governments, emergency powers, three-party systems and a more sophisticated simulation that handles inflation, corruption and modern policy ideas such as quantitative easing, helicopter money, universal basic income and policies to cover current political topics such as police body cameras, transgender rights and tons more.
Democracy 4 is the ultimate sandbox for testing out your political ideas. We all think our politicians are useless and that we could do a better job ourselves, but is that really true? Only part of winning an election is really about running the country well. Democracy 4 - Voting Systems introduces a whole bunch of new policies that let you decide who can vote, how they vote, and how easy it is for big money to swing an election.
Each country has its own challenges and problems to deal with! How will you choose to run the wealthy direct-democracy of politically neutral Switzerland? Will you be able to convert coal-loving Poland to an environmental paradise? Can you lift everyone out of poverty in the favelas of Brazil? And will your attempts at a secular society gain acceptance in Catholic Ireland? Can the republic of Ireland maintain a viable economy without a famously low rate of corporation tax?
Some of the new events act as warning signals. Maybe your push for more technology is going to lead to sudden unemployment as AI replaces jobs? Is pollution is now so bad that schools are warning children not to play outside? A famous celebrity getting car-jacked in broad daylight is a sign that crime is out of control! Other events may shake things up when you thought they were under control, such a sinking oil tanker, a collapse of the power grid or staggeringly cold winters. If you are fortunate, some random events may change your country for the better, such as a super-productive harvest, medical breakthrough or a breakthrough in trade talks.

There is a huge difference between Türkiye in the DLC and the real Türkiye. It looks very democratic compared to the reality of Türkiye in the DLC.
