Just cause something is kind of lazy doesn’t mean it’s bad.. Metro finds brilliance in simple melodies, even if they are used more than once and that’s something he’s really good at. So no, metro isn’t a bad producer, and even if his melodies seem lazy, I’d call it a skill making something simple sound so good.

People want Metro to be fucking Rachmaninoff or Thelonious Monk. I don’t get it. Like yeah the melodies and chords are simple. But there is way more to production than melody and chords. Like the actual sounds themselves, the EQing the mixing, drum patterns, etc. Just cause the melody is or chords are simple doesn’t make the entire production process simple or the track bad.

His strength IS his simplicity. He's also worked his way up the ranks and sold his soul so that's part of why he gets so many placements and opportunities. If it wasn't for Metro, trap wouldn't be where it's at (in some areas.)

Choral pieces always end on the I chord, it's basic music practice for worship music because it is more sensical and satisfying for a chord progression to resolve on its tonic. I don't think you understand that let alone what an "amen cadence" is.

i used to have simple melodies, then make complex yet smooth melodies depending how saucy and deep i want to get. works both ways to have a good track going, i think and know a lot of tracks nowadays are simple melodies still gives room for artists to rap/sing, add adlibs, vocal backgrounds, etc. it all depends on artists and/or music producers, as well sound engineers, etc on how they express their music
