    Tableware is a huge part of Japanese dining culture. I fell in love with it too and actually have a growing collection of them. 😊 Here's another Shop With Me / Look Around vlog in Tokyo's Kitchenware Paradise, #Kappabashi. We've been there several times but we still get excited and discover new things every time.
    Please don't forget to watch my first Kappabashi tour and haul here:

    I can't wait to be able to travel again. Kappabashi is definitely on my list of places to visit when I come to Tokyo. I might need an extra suitcase for all the beautiful things which I want to bring back.

      I feel the same as you. For cheap, every day items have you checked out Funabashi Daiso? I went there first before splurging at the more upmarket handmade artisanal stores and the ones up and down Kappabashi Dori. Some things are great to find cheaply and Daiso quality is usually very good for basic kitchenware. However, some unique specialty items are totally worth spending more on and I'm on the same page as you: I may need a third suitcase next time, ha! I've loved watching all these videos during lockdown and taking many notes and pinning new places on my google maps. Wonderful, I'm so excited for travel to be back on track in 2022. Oh, wait, my other hot tip is Shoyeido in Ginza for elegant, high quality incense and incense-related items. Stunning, they smell like no other incense I've burned, so elegant and evocative. Bye! And good luck saving your spending money-- just think how rewarded you'll be for your self-discipline and how happy you'll be filling that extra bag, :D.)

      @@ciganyweaverandherperiwink6293 Daiso is definitely also on my list, and heading there first is a great idea, I think. I haven't gotten to Japan yet (was going to go in 2020, but we all know how that went) but I can't wait. Although, maybe if all those whose trips got canceled go as soon as they can, it might get a little crowded... Have you and your multitude of suitcases been around Japan? I heard luggage is very inconvenient on trains and such. Would you happen to know anything about that? (And thanks for the idea with the pinned google map. That will be so much more convenient than my extra long word file full of random notes.)

      @@idontlikechocolatebrownies3281 I've been a few times and would be more than happy to answer any questions you have. Google maps are a lifesaver: whenever you're out shopping and think, 'I'm not that hungry but I'd love to have a coffee and a pastry' you can check the map you've made for a certain area and see if you're standing near something really cool that you've marked. It was the best thing I did, making different maps for each area. As for luggage, what kind of itinerary are you planning on for your trip? Which airport do you think you'll be flying into and what time, ballpark? Will you be based in one main city with perhaps a few nights 'out in the countryside', doing the traditional ryokan thing or will you be backpacking all over the place? I'd love to help because there were some things I learned once I got there and had no idea about so I'd love to pass on the most helpful information that I can. I'm so excited for you!! :D

      @@ciganyweaverandherperiwink6293 Thank you so much! Sorry for replying so late, this slipped my mind over the Easter holidays. I have no idea how to make the separate google maps, but I definitely shall learn to make some because they sound super useful. Can't be too hard, I guess.
      I was thinking of doing mainly Tokyo and Kyoto, with a ryokan thrown in somewhere. I'm not into backpacking, so it's more likely to be big suitcases full of kitchenware. For the flights it's a bit difficult. I think I might be flying into Tokyo, but who knows these days? I don't even know how many airlines will survive the pandemic. I can't even tell you when I'm going, the situation is such a mess (at least here in Germany). Sorry it's not much to go on, but I appreciate any info :D

    I’m so happy with the influx of Japan Surplus shops here in the Philippines. It afforded me access to Japanese ceramics, from contemporary, antiques and even studio pottery at a fraction of their original prices. I love the Kutani, Shigaraki, Bizen , Oribe and many more exquisite ceramic pieces.

    • @ItsWanderAngel
      @ItsWanderAngel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! I would say, in Japan, they have a high quality in general so I think you could never go wrong in their pottery, ceramics or kitchenware. Just choose color, design and details according to your own personality. Something that you know you would enjoy everytime you use it. That alone makes it worth buying. ☺️

    What are the prices like? Are they affordable?

      Kappabashi offers cheap ones like $2-$20 and expensive ones ($50 and up). You can see some of the prices as I touch some of the items from the store. I would say mostly it’s affordable. Some of the items are expensive because of fine craftsmanship. Thank you for watching by the way. Stay safe 💕

      Just for me and my husband. 😊 Our daughter is still 2 years old now, so we buy a kid friendly tableware for her.

    Would rather hear information about what I am looking at than music I don't like. You may like it but that doesn't mean the rest of society does.

    Less music and more narration would be nice.
