Shooting film at night is always a challenge and this time is was no exception. I was very skeptical if the photo would be usable at all but I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the scans. Also, a lot of people probably wouldn't recommend shooting street photography at night in Mexico because they wouldn't consider it to be safe. Despite the odds, I am glad that the results look good and that made me record other episodes at night but you'll see in future episodes.
More film videos will follow soon.

Low light shooting is so challenging it really is heroic to me. I wish I could give you two thumbs up for the delicious colors. Looking forward to more low light urban shooting!
Thank you! Congratulations, you are the winner of the print. Can you shoot me a message over on Instagram or through my website?
@@therealsirrobin sent a message through Instagram.
I always enjoy your videos and images. I like that you go over your favorite shots at the end.
nice episode, #4 is my absolute favorite. Love the movement in the picture. Looking forward to your next video!
Love the Mexico series!! Some great shots!!
CineStill looks amazing. Really nice video!
Thanks Robin for another great video! Super inspiring and time to try new film ;-).
Nice video, as always. I also thought that the shot of the roofline of the building was lovely -- beautiful colors.
Das erste Bild hat mich auch direkt umgehauen! Echt klasse Farben. Und auch die Hausecke ist echt top!
Good work!
I enjoy the haliation effect of cinestil 800! :)
At f1.7 in the dark night and all your photos are incredibly in focus :o Respect !
Its that bright ass Leica view finder👌
Again a nice video. Cool to see the vibe at night and good pictures. You inspired me to not be afraid to use lower shutterspeed during street photography.
Thank you for the video. Very nice pictures!!!
Hi Robin ! You rules like usual ;) The first 1 is really nice... True that this emulsion is really nice ! Great job
Love image 3 as well!!!
Enjoy your night time street photography!
Always wanted to try out Cinestill... your shots really look amazing!
I love the colourful photo of the people at the fruit stall, I also loved the one of the banana stall on the Agfa vista episode. And also, happy Easter!!!
Mexico has to be one of the best places to shoot street - great video. I need one of those prints!
These are fantastic !
I love the first photo that light leak works well
The one on the bike...beautiful color 👍
#3 is also my favourite. Reminds me that not all street scenes have to include people to be evocative of a feeling or a mood.
You’ve got guts! At many points in the video I get nervous watching for you. Thanks for sharing what I would never do. 👍🏻😊
Isn't it funny that people get nervous by simply watching the video but I am not when actually shooting the it? 😂
This is a great channel!keep it up.nice job.
I realy like this kind of film photography. Thanks for this episode. My favorites are no. 3 and no. 4.
Great to see the use of this classic film :)
Love the face on the guy on the bike @04:08 This and the scene @10:39 so timeless
Great shots Robin !
Gracias for this video !
The colors in the first one are so cinestill and so nice
even in this digital age, film is still worth using - lots of character. Thank you!
I love CineStill look.
Great video again!
What good images, Mérida is a beautiful city. That CineStill 800T is great, I'll have to try it sometime.
I love cinestill 🤩 and these shots are fantastic i love the mood 👌💥 i love number 3 looks like a sci fi movie 🍿 🎥
Great video as always man! I love that about you got at 5:43! The man talking to a vendor is such a great scene! I did a video on my channel where I shot cinestill 800T with my Canon P rangefinder and I absolutely loved the results!
Great shots, as always👌🏻
I really like the halations that cinestill produces around bright light sources. This reddish spots add so much character to the bluish, tungsten colors.
This series is really making me wanna go to Mexico when my country allows me to travel again! I love the 3rd shot of the building so much
Do it! Mexico is lovely and there are some many nice places over here!
#1 love the mood of the image, beautiful.
I love that First photo that light leak was amazing
Shooting street at low light + f1.7 is definitely a challenge. Kudos to you for that 👍🏽❤️
Loving your content, look forward to it every Sunday. I just bought my first roll of cinestill 800t and I'm really excited to shoot with it. Great photos 😊❤️
wo that red glow around highlights are awesome, i'm very curious about how it show on print
I’m also really loving cinestill at night. Great cinefilm look and feel. Yeah #3 has texture and lines awesome 👊🏻
this video is awesome!
Super wieder Film!
Cinestill is something special at night. I Really like the halation, it ads some vintage vibes
Love the look of the cinestill 800 at night! Always impressed with your metering, exposures are always spot on and balanced.
Thank you! Actually, I wasn't really metering. If you wanna know more check out my video about settings for street photography at night.
@@therealsirrobin oh wow, I will definitely take a look, thanks!
vraiment sympa ....comme a chaque fois 👌👌
I like the first one, but I think the shot at 10:39 is my favorite. To me, the halation is one of the best things about Cinestill.
My city :) And yeah, Merida is a really safe place, I've been in downtown at night hundreds of times, and that's a thing I wouldn't do much in places like Mexico City
Looks like a great City with a great atmosphere. People are outside, talking, stores open, still most uses there head it seems like. Stay safe ianelhumano :)
One of these days I’m going to win a print!!
I also really liked the shot towards the end of the video of the person crossing the street in front of the car headlights
I also really liked the photo of the couple at 6:56 .. the colours especially. Greetings from Greece. :)
I am enjoying the Mexico series.
The couple arguing would be really nice hanging on my wall.
Great content
Great video as always! How much longer are you in Mexico?
Will leave pretty soon, unfortunately. 😭
Excellent.
Just watched this episode now. I really like Cinestill and think it was very suiting to the city and colors of the place at night. In general i liked the shots, nice series and overall like you mentioned a very cinematic feel. Like the "environmental" shot you took with the wall facade and lights was fine in the context of those other shots. Sometimes i look at it like a series telling a story and i think that one was adding to that. The shot with the beggar when i saw you approaching i thought to myself "ow that nice red wall and the dark beggar in foreground, a wider lens there and it would be a really cool dramatic but simplistic shot with him as foreground to that large red wall", but your choice turned out very cool as well. Of the shots you choose i think my favorite was probably the arguing couple. see you i the next! and be careful ;) /Martin the Swede.
awesome video
the colours and images are so crisp especially the one of the man on the motorcycle! not sure how a cinestill would work on my ae-1 program...
It would work like any other film. Give it a go.
I am really learning alot from your episodes. Could you do a street photography using a rollei 35 s zone focusing camera? Man that would be very interesting :)
Sure but I don't have one. Maybe in the future I'll try to my hands in a Rollei35!
Your eyesight must be perfect haha ..all were in perfect focus... great stuff as always 👌🏽
Can't complain. 😂
I like the man in red top waving upwards to his friends at the corner of street market stall. I love the Reddy oranges and the slight haziness to cinestill.
Very nice, wanna try cinestill but not sure it's forgiving in terms of exposure
As long as you don't underexpose it's you'll get good results. Give it 1 or 2 stops more and it'll shine.
Hi! Just interesting, what ISO do you use at this night time, 800 or more? Thank you.
Ah, Merida, downtown at night is great, did you happen to visit the "Coloradas"? (The pink lakes) all that area of Yucatan is great. The food is amazing.
No, haven't been there. I only went to Campeche, Mérida, Cancun and Playa del Carmen.
I don’t need the print, but definitely image #3 yes, the building.
Great vibes from Mexico! Which ASA settings you finally used, 800 or 500 or did you push (you said something like this, but was not clear). Gracias!
No, no pushing.
I wouldn't feel brave enough to shoot street photography in my own, still pretty safe city, let alone Mexico at night. Too much of an introvert (like most people I guess). But the results with this film are something quite unique and it is nice seeing street photography outside of Manhattan or Tokyo, but places I'd probably never see otherwise.
Super!!eine Frage,Hast du Adox Scala 50 Film ausprobiert?
Nein, bislang noch nicht.
How long are you in Mexico for? Headed North at all?
I was in Monterrey a few weeks ago. 👌🏼
Cinestill is the best. Just wish it wasn't so damn expensive! 💸
Yes, that's very unfortunate.
Is it safe using shutter speed 1/15 with hand held?
With rangefinders it’s better than with an slr.
On a rangefinder with a 35 or wider I have no issues. If the subject is moving then it's a different story though.
Excellent ♡♡♡
random winner!
nice video👏🏿
Great video. Cinestill can be tricky, I got best results at 200ISO.
I used the slowest shutter speed I could get away with to get as much light in as possible. Metering at night is tricky and not really needed.
❤️
It’s not possible to get that colors on digital, Cinestill 800T is awesome!
I love merida
I like the colors and the picture are great. I wait for the next Episode!
Recently I've realized that I can get 3 rolls of BW agfa apx 400 for the price of 1 roll of Cinestill, but I' not gonna replicate the look of Cinestill of AGFA :)
Btw, I'm finishing a roll of Virion3 500t, it will be interesting to the the results
Haha! I prefer vision 3 500t over Cinestill, especially when developed in ecn2
I'd like a print :)
I hope I can win a print this time! :D
número de imagen de tres 💰
Cinestill was hanging pretty good. I still like portra more tho
:P
Portra is great but I like Vision 3 films more.😂
@@therealsirrobin Ok, fair enough :D
Gonzaleztheoldest on Instagram.
Great video. Love the look of cinestill
odd how you didn't get robbed.
😂
