Fiat 500 DIY - fitting Reverse Parking Sensor kit - £23 of eBay , brand Hawk - January 2022

Hello all
Hints and tips to self install the reverse Parking sensors on a 2012 Fiat 500 TwinAir.
I show you the route I took, which wire I spliced and various hints and tips - plus demo the sensors near the end.
Very good so far!

Hi fitted it to my wife's fiat 500 connect to the grey and green reverse wire and earthed. Ignition on reverse selected light on rear but sensors not work I'm I doing something wrong or could be faulty device

Hello, luckily I kept the instructions and there in my hand now.
Yeah, so it is the Red (assuming you have the 4 sensor kit ) to the Reverse Bulbs positive side (check this with a volt meter with engine off , ignition on, and put into reverse .
Then the Black to a negative, such as a small screw or bolt onto the chassis area .
That’s all it is - so maybe you don’t have the right reverse bulb wire , or possibly a duff unit - but I’d recheck yout wiring.
As an idea, you could also just connect the unit directly to the car (or a 12v battery charger ) battery and it should operate . Do this and you’ll know instantly if the unit is good or faulty .

Yes indeed, that’s how they all work my friend

@@joker4presidente no, so you need to follow the instructions basically.
ALL reverse sensors need a switch to tell them when to activate, and that “switch” is the driver putting the car in reverse.
This kit is Incredibly easy to install , but if you can’t do it, then ask a competent friend or pay a garage £100/150 to fit (they might charge for 2hours labour )

I asked Halfords if they would fit them in but they said no because I didn't buy it from them😂
