    I had a RUNDA 30mm fan from China and it did 450 revs per second at 12 volts without blades. The fan was rated for 12V 0.10A.

    At 26:20 in this video that fan did 68,967 rpms. Holy shit

      Imagine the cfm at 68,967 rpms.

    what if you turn up the voltage quickly so it wouldnt have time to build up heat? would you get to a higher voltage and rpms before it went bang?

      @HL4EHalfLife  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Possibly.. , At some point I'm going to try attaching some fans to my Direct-Die phase-change system, 1 of them can reach -40c and the other one has been as low as -88c

      That will be cool. So is this turning into fan overclocking? BRUUUH LOOK AT MY WATERCOOLED FANS BRUUUUUUU. LIQUID NITROGEN OC'ed FANS!

    Not to alarm you but I think you might of accidently shown the same DELTA fan clip twice one at 15.12 and the same one at 17.54 straight after. IDK, maybe it's just me. But great PC fan overload clip, love the fireworks display👍.

      Yes I did know about that, not sure how it happened though...

    Did you take into account the consequences if one of those fan motors exploded, especially the blower fans that you were in the plane of rotation of(even a small bit of tape stings when it flies off and hits you at 20000+RPM). Very Interesting experiments.

    • @HL4EHalfLife
      @HL4EHalfLife  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually for the blower ones I wasn't behind the camera but was off to the side for that very reason.

    i haven't bothered checking, but have you ever plugged a fan or dc motor of some sort into a stereo amplifier? would it play music? if you haven't, then try it out!

    • @HL4EHalfLife
      @HL4EHalfLife  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have but it was an AC sync motor, look at my sound card motor controller video.

    Do you remember there used to be PC fans without blades. The outside was spinning. They were totally silent. I cant remember the manufacturer/product name.

    • @HL4EHalfLife
      @HL4EHalfLife  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've seen many 1000's of pc fans and they all had blades, whatever your talking about had to have blades of some sort.

    • @dogs-and-destruction-channel
      @dogs-and-destruction-channel 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @ ilmari82 are you sure the blades weren't internal like the snail shell/blower ones.

  • @djaysenpai

    i wonder what kind of speed the extremity of the 40mm delta fan was going

    • @HL4EHalfLife
      @HL4EHalfLife  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Didn't you look at the tachometer at all? O.O

    • @djaysenpai
      @djaysenpai 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      RPM does not equal speed, i meant the km/h. well if the circumference of the motor is 5cm the speed at 60k rpm would be 180km/h.

    • @HL4EHalfLife
      @HL4EHalfLife  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      djaysenpai oh that kind of "speed" I have a formula that can figure that out.. I'll get back to you on the answer.

    • @HL4EHalfLife
      @HL4EHalfLife  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      HL4EHalfLife I finally got around to figuring out the speed and it's 310.338 km/h.

    I know you still have those powerful cooling fans can you make another video I know those fans will spin up to 70.000rpms or greater please.

  • @xaer0knight

    10,000 RPMs LOL I remember when people were going nuts over SCSI hard drives were that fast :D

    • @HL4EHalfLife
      @HL4EHalfLife  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jason Hicks Which one are you referring the 10,000 rpm's to? because most of them went way over that in the tests.

    • @xaer0knight
      @xaer0knight 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh.. i remember working on some pretty fast SCSI Hard drives back in the day, most were rated at 10,000 RPM. Looking back at it, they weren't as fast as some your extreme testing :D Have you ever tried to see how fast you could get some old Quantum Fireball Hard drives to go? hell any old hard drive, that would be interesting to see. Most consumer hard drives are 5400RPM or 7200RPM, i bet you can make them go nuts!

    • @HL4EHalfLife
      @HL4EHalfLife  9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Jason Hicks I have modded some hard drive circuits to override the motors rated speed to go faster than there rated for but there not as fast as you might think.

    Last time I did this with an ordinary desk fan I over heated the motor it worked an hour later.

  • @SandBox86
    @SandBox86 9 ปีที่แล้ว

    so what happens if you in some way try to cool with liquid nitrogen these motors like the last ones and avoid burning them

    • @HL4EHalfLife
      @HL4EHalfLife  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +SandBox86 You know that's a pretty good idea, but liquid nitrogen is out of the question...however I might be able to mount the fan motor on my direct die phase change system which is capable of reaching -88c
