I'd have to agree with this. There are a lot of places that serve hot dogs, but many of them aren't true West Virginia hot dogs. If you want the epitome of WV hot dogs, look at D&I Mart in St Albans. Also Chris's Hot Dogs in Charleston (I think maybe they're gone now, as it's been several years since I moved from Charleston to Barboursville). Of course, Sam's Hot Dogs. Huntington is easier to find the real thing. Frostop, Midway, Sam's, and Stewart's are all the real deal.

Mom watched it and then replied to me with a pic from inside her refrigerator, where there was a plate of 4 Stewart's hot dogs thawing. They had ordered some because they missed their WV hot dogs lol!
I was fortunate enough to enjoy many Chris’s Hot Dogs on West Washington St, THE BEST! A father & his 2 daughters made the hot dog that I compare all others to. They have been closed for probably 30 years!

I have enlisted other judges and don't tell them which place each dog is from until they give me their review. I have been sticking with WV dogs. Thanks for all of the new places to try!
Toasted and buttered "English" or New England-style top-loading buns do not get enough love in WV, except at the Hinton Dairy Queen and formerly at the old Hurricane Dairy Queen.
Hit D&I’s out in tornado, wv. Just Ouse off of Saint Albans. While you’re there make sure to pick up one of their pulled pork sandwiches. I’ve had a lot of hotdogs across this great state and they rank up at the top for me.
We have covered that area as part of our Charleston Video series, Bogey's Driving Range in Tornado scoring the highest so far and I live near by not having yet to discover D&I. Where exactly?
@@HaveFunWV as you’re driving out coal river road towards where Bogey’s is located it’s on your right just past Browns Creek. After you turn on to Coal River Road I’d say it’s about 3-3.5 miles out. It’s just a little ma & pa grocery store. They serve a pizza dog too if you’re into that kinda thing. Beef hot dog with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese... Different but good.

I grew up in the Middle Kanawha Valley to this day, and Charleston is GROUND ZERO!!! I've been DYING to see a hot dog guide to Charleston, and I've eaten at nearly all of them! Is Skeenies on Sissonville road still around? Hey I saw my apartment on the East End from Truvillian's! East End Pub is just down the street from me!!!

Just for your own research; if you’ve never had a hot dog from the Nitro DQ you should stop by there sometime. They aren’t like other DQ’s that have the chicken strip baskets and all that. They pretty much just exclusively have hot dogs. One of my favorites around Charleston just behind Hot Diggity

Jole Aron I worked there for a year June 2019- June 2020 it was the best place I’ve worked for and the boss , Matt Leary is the best guy you could ever ask for as a boss! We hand made the slaw and chili and root beer every day! Plus... steamed buns ❤️
My issue they claiming best hot gog in West Virginia and they stay in a 15 mile radius of Charleston? I understand logistically cant hit every hitdog place but Charleston is not West Virginia it's just our Capital
