I'd love to see Idea Factory release a few more titles every once in awhile like with the recent Cupid Parasite game, I love their translations. And I mean, Otomate's catalog is so massive that there's no way one company would be able to handle it all on their own no matter what they do. Aksys Games does their best but only leaving the translating to them all the time is asking too much of a single company... the thinner they get stretched between releases the higher chance of noticeable mistakes like Collar x Malice Unlimited. Also... I quite like when Aksys has a chance to work on more variety of game genres, they always would announce games that I thought would never get localized!
Some intriguing titles coming this year that I will keep on my radar. Jack Jeanne is definitely a title I’m interested since I’m a fan of Ishida. Thanks for the informative video!

To otome or not to otome that is the question.
I have never played an otome.. in fact I had to look up what even that was recently. I like idea factory writing and humor so I may try one of theirs as my first..I’m leaning towards Cupid Parasite because it looks colorful.

Another great video! Special kudos to Lilia for the script. The two otome titles I'm most excited for this year are Variable Barricade and Birushana (in fact I have VariBari preordered already), but some of the others sound intriguing, especially KimiYuki. I'm really excited to find out Idea Factory's mystery localization project, too.

This was a well researched list with Japanese reception and who worked on each game. Kudos to the writer.
We are definitely being spoiled for choice this year and I'm still working on the 2021 otome games. The speculation hype for the mystery title from IFI is super high in the otome community, and it's making me anxious. There are so many games I want localized so I'm going to be in some way disappointed.

I will keep Kimi wa yukima ni koinegau on my radar. The story sounds interesting and the art style looks absolutely beautiful. And then I hope they'll release Hakuouki for the Switch. I have Kyoto Winds and Edo Blossoms for pc but I really want to play Hakuouki on the Switch as well

We are going to be spoiled for choice this year! The only one I'm definitely going to stay away from is the weird one where men turn into women. The more I hear about it the more it leaves me bewildered. I will forever be thankful if they bring Hakuoki to the Switch.

I love VN for the beautiful artwork. But unfortunately, I don’t purchase them because of the storyline, and character roles/backstory after Hakuoki and Diabolik Lovers. A lot of the VN stories are “dark”, “emo”, and crazy. Sometimes, characters can even be psychos and stalkers. And those are not the games I want to play. I just want a fairytale, light, comedic, and romantic with a happy ending. Not a tragedy. And I really hate how they make some of the Main female characters REALLY stupid and incompetent. And sometimes, it seems to me, it feels like just another harem game for men with the way the plot line and characters are. It’s exactly like a typical anime harem but male lead is wearing female clothes.
