Hi Subbu, if I’m making this rasam along with your sides of potato and kootu for a guest how much cooked rice should I serve ? Can you please suggest in measure of cups for cooked white basmati rice? Thank you
We will get approximately 5 cups of rasam. We can keep in fridge and consume later. But since we add cooked dal, it will be good only for 2-3 days if refrigerated.
One thing I liked about this rasam is while frying the dry ingredients you did not fry jeera , instead you added raw jeera to the mixture..Jeera gives a different taste when fried , but if the same jeera is raw it imparts a delicious taste to the dish..I t was just like how my mother used to prepare , advising me not to fry jeera for southindian dishes... thanks.

Only for 1 person i would say 1 cup of basmati rice is enough. If we plan for 5 people, I usually keep 2.5 cups basmati rice.
