Sup yall! I'm finally back and on a gring with Nu Pogodi Reactions. I have vowed to finish these series, so I wanna get through all of them at least by the beginning of 2023. :)
By far, this episode is my personal favorite one, along with the one on the cruise ship. I love the skating clip and the gags in this one. Plus, the animation was really sharp and clean. I hope the upcoming ones are as fun as this one, because I really liked this :D

Ded Moroz or Father Frost is a russian Santa Clause. In folklor he has a granddaughter Snegurochka. Usually they come to give children their gifts together. (Unlike Santa Clause who "works" alone)
[kak dela]- means "how are you":)
'Snegurochka' means 'Snow Maiden'. So the Wolf was playing Snow Maiden (ALWAYS played by a young woman!).
"[kak dela]- means "how are you":)" - literally : how [are your] deals?

Probably my favorite episode. Thanks for bringing the memories back. How is your Russian doing these days? I'm curious if you've gone back to watch earlier episodes and find yourself understanding some Russian you missed before? Also the Christmas tree is actually a new year's tradition in Russia and I believe Santa Claus also comes for the new year as opposed to Christmas. He's called "Father Winter" and has a granddaughter "snegurachka" or "snow maiden"

When the heroes dance on ice (do figure skating), it's parody of Gorshkov and Pakhomova (famous figure-skating couple of the time).
When the Wolf, sitting in the snow, curses the Hare several times and each time he pronounces 'Hare!' a bit differently - it's satirizing of Khrushchev who was not too literate so he had tried to officially simplify the orthography rules ESPECIALLY the word 'zayats' (hare), but that Khrushchev's initiative met mass protest / fierce disapproval and was cancelled/dropped. Even soviet stand-up comedians had satirizing Khrushchev (then, already lost his position) for that, they had sung 'The hare will kill himself if you start to write his name differently!'.
When the snow avalanche catches up with the Wolf, it's parody of the ending of one of old movies about James Bond.

for the 8th episode, well, wait a minute, a song was specially written, Tell me, where was the Snow Maiden?. The lyrics to the song were written by Yuri Entin, and the music by Gennady Gladkov. director_Vyacheslav Kotenochkin told Yuri Entin that this song should sound exactly 1 minute 38 seconds. This scared Entin.

This part contains some things, which are not obvious to those, who hasn't lived in the Soviet Union in 1980s. Figure skating, mask of the Hare in the beginning, Snow Maiden's song, the place of action, a bag labelled "Gift", they are clear to a person connected to the late Soviet lifestyle, and others need some explanation.

Еду ты употребляешь путём пережёвывания и проглатывания, а культуру -- путём понимания. И, чтобы этот мультик правильно употребить, надо определённые вещи понимать. Ты, вот, любишь, например, сало. А американцу оно точно не понравится. Он любит арахисовое масло, а ты вообще не поймёшь как оно может быть вкусным для кого-то. Чтобы любить сало или арахисовое масло, нужно определённыебвкусовые предпочтения развить. С произведениями культуры -- то же самое.

It's not Christmas tree, but rather New Year tree (soviet tradition). The public (mass) Christmas celebration was forbidden in USSR. And Soviet New Year celebration traditionally included New Year Tree, gift-giving, masquerade (usually with animal masks), 'Father Frost and his granddaughter Snow Maiden' show, and sometimes more stuff, for example some joke competitions (sack race, walking with stilts etc), and other entertainments. The action (in the cartoon) occurs in a VIP state campsite where some rich state enterprise holds a celebration on a grand scale (with pro entertainers, and security men, and stuff).

С такими темпами остальные серии досматривать ты будешь уже со своими детьми =)) Давай поскорей, зачем по 10 минут раз в месяц что-то делать? Надо оптом, по максимуму, за 1-2 дня всё посмотреть и разделить на части как угодно. Вот так много каналов обещают обещают, а потом они пропадают. Я вырос на 18 сериях этого мультика. После 18 серии не нравятся, потому что это уже не СССР. И пробуй искать серии с субтитрами, может существуют. "Oh I'll get you!"
