  • Halfway between Bangkok and Hua Hin, and 22 km out of Ratchaburi sits Khao Bin Cave - a cavernous, eight-chambered wonder that makes a wonderful day trip from Bangkok or Hua Hin, or a stop on the way/way back. Is it the GOAT (greatest of all time) of all day trips? Maybe not the cave on its own, but the goats certainly help for it to be in with a mention for the accolade of the GOAT day trip from Bangkok.
My son and I really enjoyed it; t was extremely 'sweaty'down there and you have to watch where you step, but it was pretty amazing to look at. It turns out that Ratchaburi Province has a lot to offer for a stop-off, a day trip or even a few days - I have merely scraped the surface with Ban Pong, Khao Bin Cave and the Grand Canyon (with Snake Mountain still to come)!

Ratchaburi, that Province has so many caves and mountains, an explorers dream. Well done for resisting the temptation to try to get across that suspension bridge, I might have given in lol. Actually I didn’t think the GoPro footage in the cave was bad at all. They might not be that sensitive but at least there isn’t too much noise in the picture.

Indeed it is mate. I probably would have too but the woman just behind me in a drinks hut kept shouting in Thai it's broken, cannot... I took the exposure down in editing to improve the picture. Jacob shot some with his I-phone but deleted them after sending to me as he thought I had already downloaded them hehe

@@JBWanders73 lucky she was there to point it out eh? I find my iPhone is reasonably good in low light but anything other than the main lens adds a lot of noise. I’ll still use the footage because it’s TH-cam and better than nowt though

Such uncooperative goats!! Looks like a nice day trip. I teach my students the difference between stalagmites and stalactites like this; mites are bugs, bugs are on the ground, stalagmites are on the ground. The other way to remember is that stalactites are spelled with a "c," like ceiling, where you find stalactites. Thanks for the video!

Or stalactites are holding tight to the ceiling... I won't forget again hehe
