🇫🇮 Two insanely good players there! I saw Kasperi back in 2004 at a "Finnish Metal Expo" shredding in a random booth and he was dropping jaws already back then. The chops he has these days.. seriously, holy poop! 🤘

Hearing that origin story was really cool for me. His made me think of my personal rocky start to learning guitar. I begged my parents for a guitar when I was a kid and they got me an acoustic and signed me up for lessons. I made it through 2 weeks of lessons before I gave up because all we talked about was tuning in that time. More so because even though I didn't realize what the issue was, the issue was I didn't give a s**t about acoustic / classical guitar even a little bit. That was when I was 12 years old. It took me another 25 years before I attempted an instrument again after that. When I came back it was drums because I got a decent deal on a kit and I learned that for about 3 years. I managed to learn to move all 4 limbs separately from on another and to basically carry a beat poorly but that's about it. Drums didn't move me so I sold them and bought an electric 6-String and a PC program that allows me to learn from music like this guy plays. The fact that I could now play the music I love by the heroes that inspired me in the first place has me making massive jumps in reaching a dream I really never thought I would get near in this lifetime. I love this band and their music is so much fun to play. Thank you for this video, I really enjoyed hearing this.

Outstanding video with a lesson for the younger generation on what us players from the early 80's went threw trying to figure out songs ,licks chords, etc.... I still have every issue starting in 1982 from gftpm (guitar for the practicing musician) magazines which is when tab 1st came out. Metal school, Guitar One, Young Guitarist, Guitar school, Maximum Guitar, a few dozen Guitar player and Guitar world. Reh VHS tapes, Star licks cassette tapes, Doug Marks metal methods.35-40 books with tab on bands albums..... Bunch of scratched up records, cassette tapes that the tape broke from hitting pause stop,rewind,.... Thanks for sharing this with Us, brought back the early years off practicing, and mind warping I went threw.

So humble. My vocal teacher (and music teacher) always said it's better to work with those who aren't naturally talented, because in the end, they'll excel more and outdo those who do it naturally, because they'll have learned HOW to.

A dialogue between guitar players is always interested.I think you have to do a Michael Schenker night !!!

I once had the pleasure to open up with my band for U.D.O. and Doro at Haus Auensee in Leipzig in 2015. I knew of Kasperi before he even joined U.D.O., saw him playing live with Gamma Ray and checked out his band Merging Flare afterwards. I was very impressed with his playing since then. Of course we had a chat and a beer together after the U.D.O. show in Leipzig and what can I say? An amazingly talented Guitar player and a down to earth guy as well! That makes of course a succesful combination! Just like Gus of course!

Awesome to see two cool guys chatting and i´m also old school when it comes to favorite players, those Shrapnel fellas were amazing and i want to add Joey Tafolla album Out of the Sun which is one of the absolute highlights. Keep on rockin´ and i´ll keep on buying the albums 😄 Thanks Gus and to Kasperi in Finnish, uutta Merging Flarea kehiin mielummin ennemmin kuin myöhemmin, edellinen kiekko oli loistava 🤘

I've loved Kasperi's insane soloing when he was in Amberian Dawn, and he's doing well now with Beast in Black which has a lot of that 80's vibe mixed with a cyberpunk/industrial sound.
I'm like you guys with those shred and Shrapnel influences, and even though I'm a Jackson type of a player (Warriors my are favorites, Dinkys, Soloists), I love me some reversed headstock Ibanez guitars, and I do have at least one right now, and I'd hope getting a couple more one day. BTW that green Ibanez looks sick!

Yeah. Been there done that 😂 At Pasila (main library in Helsinki) library searching for tab books in 90's. Troy Stetina's books were the best 😀. Lightin's edge was a challenge.

Hi, can anyone tell me what was the instrumental song that Firewind played on this tour? It was like in the mid of their show, heavy stuff, triplets riff i think...

    • @firetv

@@firetv Thank you, I really enjoyed that one. I feel like this kind of stuff suits you better than when you put yourself into classic melodic metal structured song cage, anyway, wish you the well :)
