    This is one of the smartest interior space designs I've ever seen. I also like the level headed, no gimmicks presentation and both presenters seem to complement each other. It is a rarity to see this kind of analysis in the yt propaganda machine. Congratulations to you both.

    We got a Thor Tranquility 19L 2023 Build on 2021 Sprinter chassis. We’ve got the big garage which was big for us and the money saved will be going on upgrades such as suspension, wheels/tires, bumper, winch, spare tire ladder, expedition box, skid plates and more.

    The builders are getting very nice quality items built in standard, ESPECIALLY that hide away shower:) To each their own in choice, i do like heavy duty interiors like the Freedom vans or SYNC vans because they use fully removable shelves and cabinets, track systems everywhere you desire and unlimited lithium batteries options, with auto start , extra under hood alternator, solar with rugged interiors and flooring. Sync vans now offers a retractable electric bed option also all build on the best aluminum/steel. The 2021 Revel has made great improvements that were BADLY needed to include lithium etc and that electric sliding side door is so much fun....LOL!

    Great Review. Love the Owl Engineering stuff for the Revel. But...The Revel really only sleeps one comfortably. At 49" wide it is good for 1 and 3/4 adults! Where am I going to get a wife that comes in 3/4 size? A double bed is 54" wide, and a queen is 60". The Revel isn't even Double bed size. Huge bummer. Good on you Storyteller for making a wider bed at 56". No Sleep, No fun. But, StoryTeller, I don't get the poop in the open across from the kitchen where you make your food thing... Revel has a bathroom. Need a bathroom enclosure.

    I always eye these vans but we do 3 month trips and our Travato seems to be a better long term vehicle with the big fridge/freezer and proper bathroom/shower. Just end up losing the off-road capabilities but we do a lot of pretty gnarly roads with the FWD and weight of the van without issue.

  • @Roaming50

    Owning a Revel and knowing someone with the StoryTeller I would definitely say the StoryTeller is better quality however they both suffer from being on the VS30 Sprinter chassis. The current 2019+ Sprinter still has a lot of bugs in it (mine has had a number of issues) and that will affect all vans, not just Revels built on it.
    However, if I were to buy again, it would still probably be the Revel. The shower/toilet closet is key for me. There are many times where having a sit on the potty in an open van just isn't convenient (say with family also hanging out in the van) so having a door is key. Also as a mountain biker the shower is great for quick wash downs when muddy and again, showering outside in a parking lot with people? No thanks. Also don't want to set it up/down all the time like in the StoryTeller. It is also easy to use the bathroom for additional storage. I keep the top shelf in and have two large totes there and the toilet is still usable. In addition there is room to hang another organization system beside the toilet if needed.
    The one big downside to the Revel that the StoryTeller has it beat on is the rear bench. The Revel only has lap belts and not three point and the seat has no recline and is narrow so it is not really that comfortable for a couple of teenagers to travel back there. The Revel is great for 1 or 2 people but beyond that it really doesn't work.

    • @Roaming50
      @Roaming50 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      French Frys the ST’s Volta system it very much better but it would add serious $$$ to the price of the Revel. The 2021’s Revel Lithium set up is half hearted at best.

  • @dondouglas3431
    @dondouglas3431 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I like both vans but the new Revel 2020-21 up grades put it ahead of older Revels and Story Teller IMO. Larger frig moved to the front of the galley and able to access from the door is a good change. Lithium batteries a big upgrade. Don't really know why Winnebago can't put two 3 point seat belts on their passenger seats(like the Story Teller) but at least they have one now. I also like that a full sized spare is mounted under the frame in back.
    AND i love the Canyon Adventure additions that can be added for more storage, seating and sleeping . Amazing ways to improve functions! ... now if i can just save up enough money...

    One big difference in the Storyteller is how quiet it is. The difference is amazing when you're heading down the road, every cabinet is padded and I think people would be surprised how much difference that makes. It quiets the stuff rattling inside the cabinets and suppresses exterior road noise, conversations can be heard and music sounds sweeter. You OWLS should drive one and compare it to the Revel, use a decibel meter plus your own personal observations. That may be another product/modification you could offer Revel owners: Stick-in cabinet padding.

    Both of the vans are poorly constructed using cheap materials and components and therefore very unreliable. We owned a Winnebago, one of their “flagship” vans the Travato with the VOLTA system and we couldn’t get rid of it fast enough. We now have a Ford Transit (250, High Roof, EcoBoost engine) with the Adventure Wagon kit installed by a local bespoke van builder incorporating a simple plumbing system with inboard fresh & gray tanks (no shower), portable toilet, simple electrical system (Goal Zero), Webasto gas fired heater, roof top A/C…. and we couldn’t be happier.
