Well done! A very difficult piece to play with an orchestra. There are some critical attack points but you did an excellent job. Thank you to the poster.
I've been listening to Fripp for over 40 years now and never heard this and would love to hear more if there is any. OK it doesn't have the sheer terror of the original as some have said but that's the point. It's an expression of just how good the Crimson compositions are. It;s like when Crimson play Gustave Holst's Mars, powerfully different
forget these other people; this version is awesome. They captured the essence of this pieces amazingly. Good job!! This song is so epic. Sounds like the intro to a big chase scene in some James Bond movie or the like.
It's a long time ago but I hope i can find it and upload. I remember there was another show too with alone soundscapes from fripp and the orchestra. If you don't hear from me remember me. Because I have a very busy time
Wim Hielkema and/or TowElektryczne: Do you know whether there is a recording of this 2003 Metropole Orchestra concert? And/or could you post the rest of the setlist too? My eternal gratitude in case of the latter...
I think the metropole or another orchestra did it again, last year or a year before, during Holland Festival. I have to check that and look for any recordings. The recordings I posted were from the VPRO radiostation (netherlands). Don't know if i can still find them, they were a 2 hours during shows with a lot of work from Fripp Soundscape's rearranged I think by Edward Keeling.
It's really hard to find, but i think this is the original recording. It's with Bert Lams, Conducted by Edward Keeling content1b.omroep.nl/urishieldv2/l27m64d90665287e313d00548aeb06000000.34d69862fd483d8e92c5f781c31ffb26/vpro/radio6/wp/files/2012/05/120512wissellang.mp3

I agree with RyanYardComposer, tempo waaay to slow. The original has an unmatched sense of expectation, like you're waiting for the car to fall off a cliff any moment.
This is the genius Robert Fripp. At the hight of his art. He believe beauty includes reason. I beg to disagree. it´s the only thing beyond the real of reason.

❤ Musica Sublime
I love it when music is reinterpreted. Its a new way to listen, especially if its not what is expected.

Well, this composition is an "evolution" of the Mars theme. The previous evolutions were "Devil's Triangle", "Talking Drum" and "Industry".
@@kpaasialI never heard Industry associated with Holsts Mars. Now I’ll have to listen again. I agree with the others tho.
El mejor Álbum de Música Progresiva del siglo 21 hasta ahora, The Power To Believe, es mi opinión

1:35 sounds like the Final Fantasy VII's track when you go out to the world.
Not as intense as the original but so so moody, Thank you, cosmic

СПАСИБО!! SUPER!
I remember going to this concert with my Dad and uncle. Man, this is such a good piece. It's such a pity that the mixing on it is so poor.
is there a version of Level Five?

Es un Devil's Triangle 2.0
Busy with posting the orchestral version of Red. Should take a few hours.
je suis un amoureux de la musique de Mr Fripp. Mes respectsmonsieur
The original summer 2001 version of this song did not have the generic techno drums. So it was far more dynamic.
+johnakni Dunno about "generic", but electronic drums were certainly involved.
