- We discussed being an IMG Family Medicine Physician with Dr. Mohamad Jibawi. Mohamad Jibawi, MD, joined Access Health Care immediately after completing his residency in family medicine at the LSU Family Medicine Ochsner Medical Center in Kenner, Louisiana. His received his medical degree from St. Matthews University School of Medicine, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands.
Dr. Jibawi is a board certified in Family Medicine and is certified in ACLS. He was Intern of the year and received the Women’s Health Award while at LSU (Louisiana State University).

Congrats for the video! We IMGs come with "fire in our eyes" 💪💪💪... I remember the first grand rounds I was watching as an orthopaedic trauma fellow, I kept telling myself "man... look where you are now..."

I'm going thru a similar situation with diff challenges that life presented to me and my family! Great points. I would like to state that it is definitely valid to have an IM letter of recommendation though, especially if it’s an IM PCP. It may not be the easiest thing for a medical student at the beginning of 4th year to have 3-4 letters from only FM docs.
This is a good point, though we'd strongly recommend the IM letter acknowledges the applicant is applying for FM.

im from Jordan, and looking now for all the possibilities and requirements beside the steps to become a FM resident. Also, i wish i can do my elective next year in Louisiana but i don't konw which university there i should contant fot this.
