Greetings from a cold but beautiful bright day in Torrance my friend! Anytime you can make a 1000 dollars in 20 minutes is a great day! I always appreciate how you keep an eye out on how the machine is trending(especially when its trending down). Over the last 3 or 4 months I have been servicing the "Solstice". Its one of ships that is part of Royal Caribbean. Its a beautiful ship, but the "Nautilus" is magnificent. They are both berthed next to the USS IOWA in San Pedro. If there is one cruise to go to (so I've heard) is to Alaska during the summer. Definitely something to look forward too. Take care sir!
Thank you, Paul. It's always great to hear from you, and I truly appreciate all the details in your precise and insightful comments. And, yes, I have heard that the Alaska Summer Cruise is one incredible experience, and for sure, it is on my bucket list too. Thank you for your friendship and all that you mean to John's World of Video Poker. Please give my warmest regards to your dear mother. She is an amazing woman and, along with your father, did such an incredible job raising you. God Bless you and your family always.
Another great video John! You always teach and reinforce lessons previously learned and rules hold rules I am always so tempted to fudge on. Those Navy card games could get intense! But it was always Cribbage in the Goat Locker! Lol. Was surprised to hear you say you were on the Forestall. I hope you missed the excitement. Either way, its good to have an old salt teaching me good VP skills. Lol. Enjoy your cruise!
Great intro to a well put together video. Nice session you came out ahead. I'm going to start playing more BP over JOB & DDB. Say Hi to Nimfa. We are lucky to have great women in our lives. Mark & Jo
Thanks for the long awaited new videos. Hopefully thery will become more frequent. P.S. I grinded out a $20K Royal on BP after playing for 10 hours on St. Patrick's day. Lots of practice and luck paid off. Best wishes. :)
Another educational video on increasing and keeping your bankroll. Bonus poker is my game also, I play it a lot to build my tier scores at the casinos to keep my comps up. I'm going to have to do a cruise sometime, I've never been on one but my wife has and loves them. Thanks for posting, best of luck this year and say hello to Nimfa for me. Until we meet again stay safe.
Thank you, Paul. I enjoy visiting the Phoenix area. The Biltmore, the Wrigley Mansion, then further South, the Titan Missile Museum, the Biosphere, and of course, Harrah’s Ak-Chin, and Casino Del Sol. I appreciate your comments.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Hey John, I hit my first royal after taking the Johns World challenge ( 5 days in) Did it online while watching one of your videos. Doesn't get any sweeter than that!
Wow! That’s do cool! I’m honored. Great Job! Keep practicing on a simulator that “warns on mistakes” to maintain your edge while in the casino. I have to get back to doing more of that myself! Thanks for the kudos!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
I got back recently from my first cruise in almost 10 years - this one was late January and was a themed "1970s Progressive Rock Cruise" (On the Blue Cruise/Cruise to the Edge) with 20 or so actual bands from that era giving us at least two full concerts per day and plenty of other performances at all hours. The music made it incredible. There's another one coming up next year and I will be on it. Decent casino aboard (Norwegian Pearl) and I kept my head above water until final day but had great fun.
Thank you for sharing your experiences, William, I appreciate your input. I certainly would have enjoyed that 70’s music vibe for the Cruise. Awesome!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Good play John. New subscriber here. You made a tidy profit with excellent self control. I gamble on the east coast. Atlantic City. If I ever make it out to California Ill stop into Pechanga to say hello!
Thank you, Herbert. I love going to Atlantic City. Before the pandemic came, I used to take the entire family there during the summer & also stay in Manhattan, NYC. I grew up in Maryland. I love Temecula because it reminds me of my rural roots on the East Coast. The next time you’re out here, please let me know. I would gladly show you around Pechanga & other area casinos.😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
I remember the Forestall - made two Wespac tours aboard CVS 33, an Essex class boat, the Kearsarge. Don't know if I could have handled flight deck duties on an attack carrier like yours - dodging the props was hairy enough.
Having served in both the, Army & the Navy, I have a very deep and strong affection for my, brothers & sisters of Arms, who have served our great country. You can be quite proud to have belonged to such an accomplished ship with its long history of honor in protecting America. I loved being part of a carrier group out on the open seas. It was the greatest thrill and adventure of my life to be part of such an elite team of Americans. Thank you, and your shipmates, for quartering our U.S. Marines and delivering them anywhere in the world where they may have been needed. The U.S. Navy had it all: it's own Air Force, its own Ground Forces, and their Fleets at sea. I wish I could do it all over again. Thank you for your patriotic service to this great nation.
I hit 2 to the Royal several times over the years. Once at Albertsons in Henderson on boulder Hwy, while holding q&10 of spades😮. My first Royal was at a bar on rainbow and Russell. Threw away a pair of 3s and kept a&j of clubs…. Yummy!! I miss living in Vegas 😢… the best part of living there: keno and video poker !! Where I live now, gambling is AWFUL.
Yes…..I feel for you. There are a lot of casino markets around the country with horrendous pay tables……Vegas & SoCal casinos still have the best pay tables going, otherwise, I wouldn’t play the games. Hopefully, you get a chance to make it out here and hit some good video poker while in town. Good luck & thank you for your comments.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
@@johnsworldofvideopoker nope… moved to Humboldt County 3 years ago. The casinos up here are dreadful. However, I’m overdue to get back to Vegas just to go to dottys!!

One good Bonus Quad & a few other decent minor hits and it was time to get off the machine! When a machine is really on a roll, it’s Quads galore, and in many cases, can run that way for 8 hours straight. It’s rare, but when it’s happening, I never leave the machine, and it typically ends with a Royal Flush. That’s why you want to be on a machine with a broad coin denomination spread, so you can kick their butts!😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Yes…Those 1 to the Royals are a 1 in 178,365 shot. So they’re quite rare. And it does surprise you! Especially, if the single card that you’re holding is the last card to the right, and it deals you the other 4 left to right!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
It was great meeting you Terry. Thanks for reaching out to me so I could have a chance to talk shop and see you play. You’re a great player in your own right and I enjoyed listening to your video poker experiences and seeing your obvious enthusiasm and passion for the games.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Good session, although aren’t you a little under bankrolled for $5? I am following your advice on bringing 1,000 credits for a session bankroll. It is a good number if you aren’t playing carnival games.
Thank you, Yes, I was certainly under bankrolled for the session on the $5 coin denomination. But occasionally, I’ll push the envelope a little to pull off a win. However, when I do so (only once in a while, mind you) I “scrutinize” on “how the session is going” and “monitor” the bankroll very carefully when doing this. If it’s not going well, or “flowing well” then I’ll bale out early on the session. You’ll notice that I was only down $500 when the Quad 3’s hit for $1,000, which took me to $2,500 in the bankroll and $500 above my initial bankroll of $2,000. Knowing that the frequent 2 pair hand pays $50, trips pay $75, straights pay $100, flushes pay $125, and full houses pay $200, all I would need then, is a healthy combination of those intermixed together to “grind the win Up” another $500 for a $1,000 win. My “stop-loss” for the session (if it weren’t going well) was “loosely around” $500 down. In fact, I was very close, and on the verge, of “scaling-down” to the $2 coin denomination to “grind my way back Up” to the $2,000 starting bankroll had that Bonus Quad not hit, when it did. I wasn’t worried about it because any Quad, or the 2,3,4’s, or hopefully, Quad Aces for $2,000 could hit at anytime after “an average” of 425 hands so with that being “just around the corner” so to speak, I was willing to “gamble” in a “controlled way with tight scrutiny” to obtain that $1,000 win. In my next video, I’ll be going back to the $2 coin denomination to “preserve the $1,000 win” by having less exposure to loss due to going back down to the $2 coin denomination. If I “lose” the $1,000 that I just won from the $5 coin denomination play on the $2 coin denomination session that is coming up, then all I did was give the prior session’s “house-money” back to the casino and haven’t really lost a thing. Always remember, that 8/5 Bonus Poker, is “all about” Full Houses, Quad Aces, and Royal Flushes. The Full Houses and Quad Aces “keep you in the game” long enough to score the Big Win: The Royal Flush. I’m not playing “recreationally” or for entertainment. I’m “using house money” gained from a robust assortment of Full Houses, Quads, Quad Aces, etc. in order to score Royal Flush wins. I don’t really care about the $1,000 win, that’s house money being fed back into the machine to score: $8,000, $20,000, $40,000, $80,000, & $100,000 Royal Flushes. I’m going for Royal Flush #40 now. My last 8 Royal Flushes total $134,000. I don’t know “which coin denomination” that the next Royal Flush is going to hit on (I prefer a minimum Royal Flush of at least $8,000 or $20,000), all I do know, is that, another Royal Flush is coming; and that it’s largely going to be won from “house money” that is re-cycled back into the machine. That $1,000 won from the $5 coin denomination is now a $1,000 cushion and a “house money bankroll” to be consumed on the machine at the casino’s expense. For all I know, a Royal Flush for $8,000 could hit on the 15th hand “in” on that $1,000 cushion, or I hit Quad Aces for $800, then go straight back to the $5 coin denomination and hit Quad Aces again for $2,000, then leapfrog over the $10 coin denomination and go straight to the $20 coin denomination and just hit any Quad for $2,500, and then as “randomness” would have it, possibly go through a series of 1, 2, 3, & 4 to the Royals, and suddenly, an $80,000 Royal hits. That’s how I play the game, I leverage house money over a long series of wins & losses to eek-out another Royal Flush. I minimize my losses to “house money bankrolls” and I maximize my wins by hitting the Royals with that same house money bankroll. Some of my money gets “consumed” during this process, but very little of it compared to the “house money” that gets consumed over the course of many sessions and time. Everything that is “on the pay table” is a “certainty”! If the player continually holds the correct cards over time, “randomness” and the “law of averages”, will deliver the Royal Flushes. It’s not a question of “Is the Royal going to hit?” It’s going to hit! The trick is “having it hit” (more often than not) on “house money” and on very little of your own. I’m not a recreational player, I’m there to “Slay the Royal Flush Dragon”.🐉🐲😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎b
8 Royals is fantastic. Keep playing 8/5 Bonus Poker, and I'm sure you'll one day have a Royal Dealt to you. (a 1 in 649,740 shot). I've had 3 Royals Dealt to me over the years, but I've never had a Sequential Royal or a Dealt Royal on the Re-draw!!! One can only hope on those types of Royals. Keep up the Great Work!
In this case (since I only had a House-Money Bankroll of $2,000 against the $5 coin denomination) I was in no way going to switch to the $10 coin denomination because my specific goal was to "cash-out" at $1,000+. I knew that if I tempted the Gods of Fate, that I could lose the whole bankroll, so I was very conservative on this session. However, that's not to say that I wouldn't go to the $10 coin denomination with only $2,000 in the machine, but I would only do so if the machine were rolling out, 2 pair or better, on practically every hand. Under those situations, (i.e. the machine is on one of those rare but "crazy train" kind of wild runs) I would not only go to the $10 coin denomination but all the way across the $20, $25, $50, & $100 coin denominations as well. But only if the machine is in "berserk-mode"! Every session is different, because every session goal is different, based on all the sessions that came before. lf I'm way up, I take more "liberties" and chances. If I'm down, sometimes I do the same (desperation mode). But if the machine is rolling & you're way up for the existing year, sure take chances!
No worries. I didn’t respond right away simply because I didn’t have the time in 🙌🏻that moment to give you an adequate answer. Thank you for your patience and your steadfast viewership!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎

Play double double only you lose too much on that poker game you're playing four of a kind of lipase 125 four of a kind of the other one pays two-fifty big difference
I was leery of your infatuation with this place. I was also leery of you not achieving $100k last year and not playing optimal. After this intro I realize you’re all just shills for the house.
Actually…..it’s a great video poker venue with excellent pay tables, as are: Pala, Barona, Red Rock, & South Point. Most casinos in America don’t offer great pay tables, so I highlight and acknowledge those casinos that do, and I gladly do it, without any compensation whatsoever. As for not hitting $100K last year, I was trying to repeat what happened in 2021 and tried to do it strictly off of FreePlay (which is nearly impossible) However, I did almost double that $100K in 2021, so I’m totally ok with it. As for “Optimal Play” the focus on that to the exclusion of everything else, is a worn out and overrated perspective; and doesn’t guarantee a winning year. There are many other factors that tie in to that, and when they’re used in combination with each other, they play a much more important role in winning than the so-called “perfect strategy” approach. Nonetheless, I ended the year: “Up $12,000”🌎

I once hit a royal holding a 10 and jack playing deuces wild with no deuces🥰
That’s an awesome hit, Teresita!🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
Good session
Thank you, Barry!😁🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
My goal this time last year was to hit A royal. I have since hit eight. My new bucket list item is a dealt royal.
Getting paid for 2 pair hands is nice. Thats why I love jacks or better and bonus poker
Absolutely!😉🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
One day I want to play with you at a casino
And that day may be sooner than you think!
Great video John. Was there ever any consideration to increasing your denomination on your run, or was $10 too rich for the bankroll?
Thanks--
Didn’t mean bankroll John, I meant your machine credit/balance… didn’t mean to imply you weren’t able to play any denomination of your choice

Nonetheless, I ended the year: “Up $12,000”🌎
Good game john nice seeing you
Thank you, Roy.🙌🏻🙌🏻🌎
