Same here, and I’ve given The Gift of Fear to friends and family because I think it’s an important and fascinating book. When I first read it, I was on vacation, staying at a condo rented from a man who was employed as security for a high profile actress and this book was on his bookshelf. I’d never heard of this book before but once I read the first page, I couldn’t put it down and spent the next few days of my vacation inside reading this book that changed my life profoundly.

Gavin de Becker is a true gift to women everywhere. Also to young kids or anyone in a vulnerable position. He is about prevention, self protection and valuing safety and feeling empowered, not through false grandiosity but rather through tapping in to our natural intuition. His reasoning is clear, sharp and no no sense. Thank you Sir you’re a gift to society

You know, I heard a lot of bad things about Chris Cuomo in the alternative media. Honestly, I believed it for a long time. That is until he was on the PBD podcast recently. That podcast really challenged everything I've heard about him. He came off as thoughtful, articulate, and extremely reasonable. It was enough to get me to subscribe to this channel and start watching some episodes. The content has been very good from what I've seen so far.

I have to tell you Chris! I felt as bad for you when you were fired as I did for Al Franken when he was forced to leave the senate. Certainly different circumstances, but you both had your lives turned upside down and didn't deserve such severe judgment from so many people! Glad to see you smiling and moving on!

I hope one day Chris when you’re not busy. . .that you will find time to read the book ‘Jesus Land’. It’s a great read about a caucasian girl with two adopted African American brothers. But really it’s about her struggles in life and how she dealt with her fears. It teaches us about her parents flaws and how it takes more than going to church to be a good person. Have a great week.😊

Dear Mr. de Becker, May I urgently request that you bring your training and wisdom to On-Line Dating? Pleeeze! Because of you, I have successfully recognized and reported seven scammers to the dating site. Scammers, Narcissists and Love-Bombers have become an epidemic and people are being victimized. Also, I was an International Flight Attendant for a major airline for 25 years and I flew before, during, and after September 11th. You can imagine how that changed Security Protocol. Flight Attendants can learn even more from you. I wish that you had been a part of our training. These are two areas that need your help! Thanks for all you do and for teaching us how to trust our instincts!

Dear Mr. Cuomo, Listening to the Project since day one as a welcome addition to my podcast playlist, I continue to enjoy the topics you choose to discuss with your guests. The subject matter and the individuals you have on are always relevant and engaging. And informative. Factual even. And that's sayin' somethin' these days! Which is why I thought I'd ask for clarity on a tiny morsel of etymology your guest offered about the word 'inuition'. About 10min in, I think I heard Mr. Becker say 'inter' or maybe 'enterre', ascribing the meaning of 'gaurd' or 'protect'? This didn't sound right to me...'intuitively'. So, shameless nerd that I am, I looked it up. What I heard (and I could have misheard for sure!) was 'en-terre', the root in latin meaning, 'buried', 'between', 'in' and so on. The latin root word with his stated meaning, according to the all-knowing Google anyway, is 'protegere', literally, 'in front' 'to cover'. Now, back to 'intuition'. I think (hint, hint), 'intuit' is the root? Meaning, 'to know'...no? I know this is way DEEP into the weeds on this one, and I 100% could have misunderstood what he said entirely! However, that's why we ask for clarification. And rather than just assume someone is wrong, I feel part of what you do on the Project is encourage us to being open to learning. I feel that you are genuine in your pursuit of finding and then sharing the objective truth. And lastly, thank you for being a public example of healthy masculinity. As a mother of an 18yo son, I very much appreciate your presence in the public space. I recognize it has a cost. Thank you for the respectful manner you treat others with during your conversations, especially those you may disagree with. I value the authenticity with which you share your personal challenges and insights on the regular. Thank you for your meaningful contribution to our media. -Kori NERD ALERT ....I really for really reals would appreciate some clarification on the whole 'intuition' root word business tho! lol! Thanks Chris' Podcast Assitant!!

I'm a firm believer in a statement I heard from an expert awhile back . As I recall it was referring to children and women, but applies to anyone really. That is "nothing good comes from a secondary location". Now I'm a large intimidating man so it isn't likely that I would experience an assault with intent to kidnap, however it could happen.
If it ever came down to complying and leaving or stay and fight tooth and nail I would either die or walk away from the initial confrontation. I'm fully prepared to do whatever is necessary to NOT be taken to a secondary location.

Before I finished this episode, there was a Sandyhook advertisement to end gun violence; it was the father, not the mother in this ad. For me, gender plays no difference in the advertisements because I don't respond to American culture, I respond to faith, hope, and love and there is no better love than the truth. So, I'd like you to hear some truth as I listened to the end of your argument.
I want to start with Mr. De Becker's comment that our forefather's knew that our freedom documents meant nothing if the people chose not to exercise their premise in every day life; this is our current state of affairs that is leading to a militant society under the "Rule of Law." It is why I keep shoving the Declaration of Independence in people's faces because the rule of life is fight or flight and there ain't no amount of nurturing or carrot and stick that will beat it out of us. All of us want to live no matter our sins. So, it becomes a fight of defense and righteousness, which is why I bring up 2 Corinthians 6:7, to get people's minds thinking about Eph. 6:1-4. Always willing to give up their souls for their paren'ts estate plan and hating themselves and everyone around them because of it. Yes, we were born to a male and a female, two haploid cells (mamma ova with 23 chromosomes with daddy spermatocyte with 23 chromosomes) made a whole new person with all their own little gametes full of 46 chromosomes. The father will never be the son, and the mother will never be the daughter, yet out of fear of losing their estate plan they try in earnest to make it so and the child is forced to choose. Part of the reason I went homeless is because I refused to choose all my life while my parents were the first to get divorced when their only child was two years of age. I learned to live in visitations twice per year and managed to not get killed by either one of them, despite the venom they dripped into my food and drink. They needed my allegiance so badly that with my life Daddy military showed me how he could rule my land and take my child, and mamma military contractor keeps hoping he'll give her a slice of his Tom Selleck. To this day I am threatened again with my life from the chariites who think I must return to their abuse after showing me who is boss in my home. (I hear what I think is a little birdy Mr. Cuomo, and I am not in the business of rulling CCP and its "affiliates.") I am fighting to not lose again, all that I worked for, every decision in my life to turn those dolls I played into a real child that I would want to be around fighting this world for which my parents created and hope will sustain them until they draw their last breath. The "justice system" has helped them take all my just reward away from me using their lies and amibition over mine, the mother of that diploid child of 46 chromosomes. I am on social media because I AM (Ex. 3:14) the mother of that child Abigail.
I have hope, in the child I knew that wanted to be attached to mamma's lifestyle and piss on everyone else. She came out that way and I thanked God for giving me a little girl instead of the boy always prayed for, but she also has my spine which scared the living hell out of me. No man putting nunchaka in my face, a woman slandering me so she can look prettier, will ever scare a person more than knowing a tiny infant some day could turn into one of your news stories against her mother. She humbled me but good but she will never overtake my fire, I am half of her and she should respect that I do not want her gaining her wisdom as I did and therefore, she should heed my words rather than put her body on the line and the only way I can do that is to create the public I wanted for her now, without her help. Here is a link on one of the ways I am going about this as her father, my family and his, have tried to use the courts to turn me into a lesbian because I didn't keep my mouth shut on something that would keep me working in finance, or any career: medium.com/@kirstenachristianwoman/interjection-cc4ca1dd6147. "Everyone does it," he said to make tax evasion okay and society has made it a 2.0 version by saying "everyone is LGBTQ" now so you just gotta do it. NO, I do not. Lev. 20:13.
Romans 12:9, "Don't just pretend to love others. Really love them. Hate what is wrong. Hold tightly to what is good." Our schools are getting shot up, I propose, because our government went and allowed the EEOC and a special interest group to force LGBTQ lifestyle on us and it is against all that a body is made and our children are not equipped at such young ages to comprehend that which this 50 year old learned over a period of 36+ years, and that, is why I do not care how much they hate me, because for now, I am the force to reckon with and they better choose my words over my fight.

This was a very thought-provoking podcast, and I look forward to reading both of the books mentioned. I appreciated the discussion of fear as it relates to crime and gun ownership; however, what resonated most with me was the discussion of the utilization of fear by both the media and government during the pandemic. I work for a small, community newspaper and consider myself a critical thinker, yet being both a highly skeptical journalist and critical thinker went completely out the window when I was presented with visual evidence of the suffering caused by COVID-19. I recall publishing articles about warehouse-type medical facilities erected in China to treat this mysterious flu-type illness (maybe January 2020) and then the people being trapped on the cruise ships; it was, though, when our state completely shut down in late March 2020 that panic really set in. I completely agree with all Chris' points about the lack of transparency and information in general on COVID-19, and to this day, we know very little about how this virus works and where it originated. I felt, as perhaps many do, that I lost two years of my life to this, and I blame the media (the print as well) for bombarding us with ever more alarming photos, videos and discussions about the virus and the disease. Was the appetite there? Yes, but it was encouraged and fed by cable news. COVID-19 dominated our news coverage for almost two years and now it is as though it never existed. I apologize for the length of the post, but the subject of fear and how in some ways it seems to dominate our lives is a complex one. Thank you for your podcasts; I am always inspired to learn more after listening.

I think people could benefit from recognizing that fear and stress is the same thing. Stress is a milder form of fear with the same response. I'm a firm believer in instincts and even psychic awareness. As an example, I just laid awake for unknown reasons for three nights in a row last week, besides one time hearing someone outside my door. The day after, the police posted a note about it having been two burglaries in my apartment building these very same nights. Our pitfall is that we so much want immediate answers and explanations to why we get these hunches, and it takes some time to just trust it. Last, but not least, we can only take so much, so some people just shut this off and sometimes I think it's Satan working through others, perhaps by someone's evil intent. -- When it comes to Covid, I was in Portugal then having to fight for my life financially so much, I actually never felt any fear of it. I did get vaccinated on my return to Sweden, but also then got it. What kind of conclusion should one draw then? Not that I want to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but an aspect can indeed be that the big pharmaceuticals needed an outbreak to remain in business. I can't completely put it past me in terms of the possibility of it being an actual conscious act of spreading.

Before I take any new medicine I check the side effects. Synthetic opioids should not be used by a person with a history of seizures. I told my doctor and she didn't believe me so she looked it up in her online prescription book and found out that I was right. When I see a new drug advertised on TV, I check the fine print for possible side effects. My doctor prescribed another medicine so I checked out the side effects. One of the possible side effects was explosive diarrhea. I didn't fill the prescription and later told her why. There are so many new drugs that even doctors don't know the warnings and side effects. By the time China permitted scientists to check out the Wuhan open air market, it had been "sanitized" by the Chinese.

Deep intuition is often created by hypersensitivity. If one recognize his or herself in this, they would know.
We often go forward, make decisions, choose our surroundings totally based on our intuitions.
Physical danger, I wouldn’t use a gun because I know that fear would make me squeeze the trigger, if someone broke into my home….right or wrong…. But it would be too late.
    Mental or intellectual fears…
Our brains gather consciously & unconsciously all kind of daily information, positive or negative info that we hear or read on & today we end to make our choice of the Networks or the Journalists or Politicians that we end to trust….and follow.
Our brain makes decisions based on all the Data gathered in our live, and data needs to be constantly updated too.
Our brain is building its own algorithm & we use it as our own unique databases to allow us to behave, act, decide, feel, interact & live our lives. Some will call it in a very general term, life experience.
Yes we are going to be wrong sometimes but less likely to happen.
We are responsible of ourselves, and a gun is not the answer for many of us, even if we are mentally balanced & solid.
… I am still listening to you & Gavin de Becker, very interesting subject which in fact covers so many others together….
Listening & will be coming back…I am sure…🇫🇷🇺🇸

Thank you Chris for inviting this guest, and for giving us the opportunity to look at ourselves, and to analyze our behaviors in front of dangers which create our inner hidden fears or visible physical fears.
Fears need to be acknowledged, admitted, recognized or listened to in order to master them and to prepare ourselves or protect ourselves….nothing abnormal, it is human & we all have our own different level of reactions in front of fears…MERCI CHRIS…. At 8:30 AM, you already gave me material to think with you and Gavin de Becker. Have a good day. 🇫🇷🇺🇸

“Deep intuition is often created by hypersensitivity.” Yup. (Aka, autism.) And I’m constantly querying it consciously in real time, as I highly doubt myself (but I’m usually right & can see the patterns forming before most even realize anything’s happening) because of imposter syndrome; my thinking is very divergent from the norm, so ppl dismiss me as fear mongering, too sensitive, or just weird. Having that invisible wall between society & myself, tho lonely at times, makes it real easy to spot bs as well as tell who knows what they’re actually talking about. (This guy, eh. We know the cause; it’s COVID. Some of us have known since spring 2020! Don’t want to see what happens in ~7 years.)

Great interview. And yes, you will both be around for the next pandemic. Unfortunately. And it might be soon, out of the same lab that released the last one, which is still operating full steam and virologists are sounding the alarm about.

If they are bending over about watching Barron wasteland or imitating my kids ultrasound that’s scary. Lots of black men acting that way. Mad bc the issue is how they want to use her for another school year. Not going to normalize.

Betteridge’s Law would say “no”, but I would ask, does the person who gave it to you want it back? Ok, bad joke, but gifts aren’t necessarily good & good isn’t necessarily “the good”… Intuition of the unexamined mind is a dangerous thing: unconscious bias, conspiracy theories, “common sense” (words usually in proximity of an incorrect stmt). Are you hypersensitive to sudden noises & mvmts (b/c you can’t understand why you’re so completely failing at basic parts of being human so at any second you could find out you crossed the line of acceptable weirdness again) to the extent you’ve about broken your autonomic nervous system but no one believes you (usually followed by autism &/or adhd discovery)? But when that’s accompanied by the ability for indescribable joy of feeling patterns emerge & intuiting systems-that drive to “solve” whatever it is that fascinates you, whether it’s passing or all-encompassing (for me, the subway or structures & functions of NY, like reverse engineering how Robert Moses did what he did to see how that could be applied to subways, despite being trapped in my parents’ house in PA b/c normal employment/$ & my autistic-adhd brain are incompatible-or perhaps it’s a distraction from giving up completely b/c I can’t see a path back or to being able to exist independently in the world if I can hold a job… but also can’t stop working on what my mind deems to be important; there’s a distinction & it’s not a choice; I become severely depressed, am sick all the time, & am fatigued to the point where I’ve burnt all my vacation days from needing to sleep 18-20 hrs several days in a row; there’s a reason we’re 16x more likely to become a statistic by our own hand… I haven’t even touched on my main reason for comment-that book: we know the cause; it’s COVID; it’s also why everyone’s sick all the time; suspected spring 2020 & 1st paper late-2021, but normalcy’s a hell of a drug.

This is excellent, and you all are a blessing for good timing. It will take me a couple days again with the added work I've got on my plate starting this week. Living in a state that calls itself a democracy while refusing to hire people like me who are living out our democracy is not conducive to my future. There is already much I would love to share with you such as this gut feeling junk. I've come to the conclusion you should just tell yourself you're full of shit. That's what your guts are doing, determining what is shit to be expelled and what shit makes you the shit. Hint: 1 Corinthians 9, specifically 1 Corinthians 9:24-27. I could scientifically blow you up right now but I've got more to learn and hone before I start feeding it to you. Until tomorrow, or tonight.

Some people just cannot trust their gut. Fear destroys lives. And can save them. There's no way to tell for sure.
But if you live your life in fear, you never really live at all.
Don't trust your gut. Emotions affect your decisions.
    Think rationally about situations.
