Mid 1990s, this was from a UK made direct to video production called Scooter Crazy. What's crazier is that that todays Group 4 Lambrettas are making the same horsepower as the 90's Group 6 bikes.
I remember seeing some of these bikes in Scootering back in my younger years. Cheers for posting. Since I could not find a cure for Lambretta fever, I had to start building an RB 240.
Stuart day's a top fella and bloody quick too . . . . And I used to watch Keith terry carb tuning lammys up and down the road outside kegras shop in the 80s . He really knows his stuff . And also a top fella .
@servetakid I suppose that depends on the gearing setup for each track, but on the big tracks some of the Group 4 bikes are faster than the Group 6. For track racing they really only count lap times. That said, the new record for Lambretta top speed is 132 mph. That on an aircooled Lambretta set up for sprinting doing a flying mile much like how they did the tests in this video.
Hi. The 132 mph Lambretta is the same sprinter filmed in this video doing 112 mph . In this video I was doing a sprint meeting at the weekend so was using only my 1/4 mile standing start gearing so at 112 mph it was not really going to go any faster. Move forward to 2009 and we where after a completely different goal , top speed ! nothing else mattered the body work was bought up to date and some aerodynamic touches added and regeared for top end speed runs only. We turned up with favourable weather conditions and stuck that speed in on the first run. We had running issues after that then blew it up but shit happens ! Keith Terry
this video is pretty old now, the top speed of lambretta's on a standing 1/4 mile start is much faster than this now, see santa-pod lambretta against the yam RD (works special) . . the lambretta leaves the RD standing, the lambretta is tuned by Darrell @ 50cc tubing who makes lambretta's go quick, his RB does the 1/4 mile at a speed any motorbike would be proud of . . . .
Paul. I think you will find the Lambretta you might be referring to is a twin auto in a Lambretta frame. There are still very few Lambrettas cut down or full bodied in the 12.00 second bracket .

Keith is a scooter genius. I remember his PX racer going for it away from the lights at The Bell on one of their open days.
What a great bit of video. Cheers
years old this now, a bloke in germany hitting over 140, on ten inch wheel that's quick . .
