Although quite versatile, this Mackie DL1608 will not perform the advanced functionality that you desire. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com. Mark S.
Correct! You will have 6 aux send outputs. So you can use these outputs to create seperate mixes for each indidual heaphone amp you may have, or your foldback monitor amp. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh{at}bandh{dot}com. - Juan B
So it doesn't have it's own in-built dedicated wireless ability? To be able to use your iPad remotely from the actual desk you have to buy a separate router?
You are correct. With the Mackie DL1608's seamless wired to wireless mixing capabilities, you can mix in real time from anywhere in the venue on your iPad (requires wireless router, sold separately). Instantly adjust mix functions from tuning front of house trouble spots to ringing out stage monitors. Please contact us via e-mail if you have additional questions: askbh@bandh.com>Mark
Thanks for clarifying. Yeah I did a little digging last night. Looks fairly simple though. Kinda like the Presonus set up. I thought maybe it would have it's own built in routing capability. No major drama though, just like an apple airport or similar router? So I'm right in thinking if you are using this desk as a stand alone static desk and the iPad is connected it doesn't need wifi in that instance? Thanks for your help.
can you make a channel pre/post and not just an Aux Send. I run sound for a comedy/musical act and everything except the tracks need to be pre fader. The tracks need to be post fader. I want channels 1-10 to be pre fader and channels 11 & 12 to be post fade?

@Martin O'Shea The mackie is app based so as long as the app performance is consistent than you will be fine.

The advertisement for this mixer is surreal.
Great video. How can i have few headphone mixes and falsback monitor mixes? via aux sends?
So I guess that means yes you can use it for recording your own song as long as it's docked..
How reliable is the software? I know a lot of engineers who have had there Mackie digital mixers crash in the middle of a gig.
can you use it for recording with garageband?
