Molotov genial y todo lo que quieras, los escucho desde donde jugaran las niñas y es la primera vez que alguien dice que suenan a RATM, ni de cerca, tal vez es la unica referencia que tiene
SMV = Stanley (Clarke), Marcus (Miller), Victor (Wooten) were a 3 piece bassist supergroup. Not just in the studio, they also played live & toured together.
Another 90s band Cop Shoot Cop had a very interestnig line-up: 2 behs players, one percussionist (not a conventional drummer), and another guy playing samples. Check them out if you can find their stuff. It's pretty rare.
I still can’t believe that Live Earth was live streamed. I was stuck at home recovering from surgery, and there was Spinal Tap on my computer happening live. For 2007, it was pretty novel.
Yeah man. The first song my wife & I ever danced to was Kill Your Television at a club in New York in early 1992. We also had Cop Shoot Cop & Swans in NYC but Swans were past their noise phase by '92.
Immediately thought of Ned's Atomic Dustbin when you mentioned 2 bassists. Man is the Bastard was a relatively short-lived American band that had more than 1 bassist.
I'm glad you mentioned that. With the drummer situation, they even make sure to have one left handed drummer and one right handed drummer, playing side by side so it looks like their playing is mirrored. Never found it to be anything to get excited over but it's certainly a unique concept.
I saw them on the first two with two drummers and it was a great show. If you wouldn’t be into them anyway, it wouldn’t change your mind, but to those of us that do like their music, it might be my favorite era of the band.
Girls Against Boys had two bass players. Even made a mention of it in one of their most famous songs, "Kill the Sex Player". And of course, many examples of two bass players in jazz throughout history, the latest album by Kirk Knuffke being the most recent example I can think of.
I really really like the idea of a band having two behs players, rhythm and lead, just like guitar. The rhythm player holds down the roots at the low ends so that the lead player can solo and wander around the fretboard without leaving the bottom end empty.
I saw Bootsy Collins perform in London in 2011, he had two bass players in his supporting band. I thought it was a joke at first but they played the whole show.
Ned's Atomic Dustbin had two bassists because Alex and Matt, both bassists, were already friends and wanted to be in a band together. Canadian band Shout Out Out Out Out had multiple bassists as well as drummers
The Greek black metal-band Necromantia had two bass players (4- & 8-string) usually with no electric guitar (except for some leads and the final album having one instead of the 8-string bass due to Baron Blood's passing). Also, at least some lineups of the Finnish black metal-band Barathrum have 2 bass players
I love twin bass bands. You put one on a compressor, reggae style, and put the other on a mid range distortion sound and it sounds amazing. Leaves zero gaps in the freqs, sounds like a damn avalance
You should check out Molotov, they’re a mexican rock band from the 90s, heavily inspired by the sound of Rage Against The Machine and The Beastie Boys. They have two bassists, and they’re great at using effects and playing techniques on their instruments. You should especially listen to their song “Apocalypshit” that has two very interesting basslines, and was featured on the pilot episode of Breaking Bad :)
I was literally coming to watch this to bring up Evil Blizzard! Radio Chip Pan stepped in to support them earlier this year and it was a killer show, those guys are awesome!
The bassist from Acid Bath, Audie Pitre, had a band called Shrüm that was basically two basses and drums and it sounded amazing. You can even here some parts here and there that ended up on Acid Bath songs
Recently i went to a concert at the Helsinki Cathedral where there were over 100 musicians with 60 bass guitar players. They preformed a piece called BASSO composed by Lauri Porra for Helsinki festival :)
Theres a very underrated post punk band from the nineties called Girls against Boys that had two bassists. They are criminally underrated, one of the best bands from that era yet noone knows who they are.
Day 9 of asking for Gareth McGrillen’s bass tone (From the band pendulum, I’d recommend witchcraft as an example as he plays bass in it and has a solo)
Ornette Coleman did this too, with 2 basses + 2 drummers, in one of his free Jazz lineup. The music required a *lot* of concentration from the listener.
When I had an old 8 track player, I would record 2 bass guitars. One use the Boss OD and play it gain all the way, super bright and the other just holding low end, no distortion, little mids. I thought it made everything sound so heavy!! No one was ever keen on actually doing it in a band though.
Mexican rap metal band Molotov. One bass will typically play a heavy deep riff and the other bass player plays chords and slaps with very heavy distortion. They're a beast live.
There are some songs by The Cure where Robert Smith and whoever in the lineup at the time as 2nd guitarist both play a Bass VI alongside their bassist on the classic 4-string. The Same Deep Water as You and Untitled immediately come to mind.
King crimson had 2 bass players, 2 drummers, and 2 guitarists in the 90s, a “double trio”
Three of a perfect pair.
I saw them in the 90s
It was like 2 power trios battling for supremacy on the same stage at the same time 🤯
They had three drummers when I saw them
@@73685three drummers? My mind just exploded
Wouldn't it be a "triple duo?"
Molotov has 2 bass players. Groovy as fuck!
Inmeadiatly opened the comments to see if someome mentioned Molotov
Molotov es genial
Que no te haga bobo Jacobo has a two bass trading solo. Absolutely astonishing when I heard that at 12 years old
¡Vive!
Chinga tu madre Is a kickass bass line
"I'd rather get stuck in a lift with Moby" got me JAJAA
Spinal Tap was my first thought! “Met her on Monday, 'twas my lucky bun day.”
You know what I mean!
My girl's GOTTEM
TALK ABOUT MUDFLAPS
How could I leave this behind?
I love her each weekday
Rob: "Kirk, James, did you steal my basses again?"
Molotov is a Nu-metal/Rap Rock band and has two bass, some people say they sound like RATM, but in spanish
Aguante Molotov
Molotov genial y todo lo que quieras, los escucho desde donde jugaran las niñas y es la primera vez que alguien dice que suenan a RATM, ni de cerca, tal vez es la unica referencia que tiene
Recommend a song metal brother
@GENADIKRASTEV "Qué no te haga bobo Jacobo" maybe their best track were the bass really shines
I don't listen to them, but QUE VIVA MEXICO, CABRONES!!!!!!
SMV = Stanley (Clarke), Marcus (Miller), Victor (Wooten) were a 3 piece bassist supergroup. Not just in the studio, they also played live & toured together.
Recommend a song metal brother
I saw them play live at wolf trap
Another 90s band Cop Shoot Cop had a very interestnig line-up: 2 behs players, one percussionist (not a conventional drummer), and another guy playing samples. Check them out if you can find their stuff. It's pretty rare.
Isn't that the name of a Spaceman 3 or Spiritualized song as well? Cop shoot cop?
Beat me to it.
They have several albums on TH-cam. Check out syls cover of room 249
great band! "10 dollar bill" is a cult classic
the sampler guy and for a while the drummer as well were in Human Impact. Check that one out.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Swans (early on) both had two bass players
Yep!!! God I love that band!!!💪🙏 so glad you mentioned them!! Only a real fan would remember to add the “!” After, “you”
Peter Hook and the light has two bassists too.
You wouldn't think Hooky would need another bass guitarist.
Yeah but they never play at the same time. Holly's son covers for him when it's too hard to play behs and sing at the same time.
I still can’t believe that Live Earth was live streamed. I was stuck at home recovering from surgery, and there was Spinal Tap on my computer happening live. For 2007, it was pretty novel.
Ned's Atomic Dustbin were great, saw them in somewhere like Southend in 1990.
Man is the Bastard is incredible
Primary by Cure has two bass parts, and often Robert Smith plays a Fender VI. A band called Cop Shoot Cop also has two bass players
I’m actually stoked Wvil Blizzard have had a mention. Love that band!
(the) Melvins have occasionally had either two bassists or two drummers! 🔊🔥😈🖤
I'm glad you mentioned that. With the drummer situation, they even make sure to have one left handed drummer and one right handed drummer, playing side by side so it looks like their playing is mirrored. Never found it to be anything to get excited over but it's certainly a unique concept.
@@andypostema4269 they were pretty entrancing when I saw them but I was also a couple days without sleep seeing them.
I saw them on the first two with two drummers and it was a great show. If you wouldn’t be into them anyway, it wouldn’t change your mind, but to those of us that do like their music, it might be my favorite era of the band.
It’s pretty common for very large Avant-garde jazz ensembles to have two bassists. Godspeed You! Black Emperor also has two bassists
Shrüm had two bass players. One of which being Audie Pitre of Acid Bath. Fantastic band.
R.I.P. Audie
Aaaahhh!!! I was going to mention them, but you beat me to it!! Always love spreading around all the obscure old Louisiana metal bands. 👍
Good to see it mentionned ! I was looking for it.
I played in a band that had 3 bass players, on the night of our first show we tripped the fuse for the whole building TWICE
King Crimson once had two bassists, two guitars, and two drummers
Glad you talked about the Omnific!
Girls Against Boys had two bass players. Even made a mention of it in one of their most famous songs, "Kill the Sex Player". And of course, many examples of two bass players in jazz throughout history, the latest album by Kirk Knuffke being the most recent example I can think of.
The best part of the Spinal Tap clip is how he introduces everyone with: " And on bass... "
Back in the early 2000s there was a canadian alt-rock band called Overbass. Two bass players, two singers (one sang in spanish), fun to watch.
I never knew james had such a wicked bass stance! Lmao
I really really like the idea of a band having two behs players, rhythm and lead, just like guitar. The rhythm player holds down the roots at the low ends so that the lead player can solo and wander around the fretboard without leaving the bottom end empty.
"& on lead behs" - Spinal Tap
I saw Bootsy Collins perform in London in 2011, he had two bass players in his supporting band. I thought it was a joke at first but they played the whole show.
Rob Trujillo bass tone day 33
Wow!!! 😮 I'm SUPER Surprised he hasn't done Rob yet. You shouldn't have to ask. He's so well known.
Ned's Atomic Dustbin had two bassists because Alex and Matt, both bassists, were already friends and wanted to be in a band together.
Canadian band Shout Out Out Out Out had multiple bassists as well as drummers
I just knew Spinal Tap was going to make it onto this list! But I didn't know they would have help!
Cop Shoot Cop had three bass players. And was an absolutely amazing band.
For the love of god, PLEASE CHECK OUT LIGHTNING BOLT

Pageninetynine and Monobody are the two that come to mind first
I was way into Ned’s Atomic Dustbin back in the day. I saw them live twice. Great band.
There was just an Epic bass show in Finland. 100 basses played The same Song
In the 90s there was a band called Sewing Machines with one drummer and three bassists.
Don't know if it still exists.
There's a German band called sewing machine and they have no bass player lol.✌️
Meanwhile my drummer leaving because no one would play bass
day 227 of asking for meshuggah’s bass tone

Also, at least some lineups of the Finnish black metal-band Barathrum have 2 bass players
More reasons why Spinal Tap will always be some of the GOATs
So we're just forgetting about SMV then. Stanley Clarke, Marcus Miller and Victor Wooten all together atvthe same time is some powerful stuff.
Okay now do bands that have all bass guitarist
I love twin bass bands. You put one on a compressor, reggae style, and put the other on a mid range distortion sound and it sounds amazing. Leaves zero gaps in the freqs, sounds like a damn avalance
There was (is?) a punk band called "Flipper" that had 2 bassists. Kris Novoselic was a member at one time.
They were terrible
Spinal Tap instantly came to mind.
Cop Shoot Cop, greatest two bass band ever. Also check out Man Is The Bastard.
MITB rules! Eric Wood is a mad genius
Early swans tone request!
Define "Early Swans", they changed 3 bass players in 3 years, and on Filth Gira was playing bass too.
@@VuotoPneumaNN So, Gira *did* play bass for Filth? Pretty neat.
I love how James has been a musician for going on 50 years and still looks like he has never held a bass before.
He's trying to hold it like Rob!))
Ryo Yamada bass tone day 187
king crimson actually had 2 bassists for their album THRAK
An early incarnation of The Police apparently had an additional "lead bass" player alongside Sting
Huh.
Dima Ulyanov is the only bassist with Septa, but he sounds GREAT! Could we have his tone?
Ned's were my first concert in Cincinnati OH in January of '93. Great show
There was one moment where The Damned had three: Bryn, Stu and Paul playing on one song.

I’ve seen evil blizzard twice!! They released a greatest hits album that was a blank cd
Quarterflash from Portland toured with two bass players.
Ned’s Atomic Dustbin getting a mention has made my day 👌🏼 quality band.
Yep Big Bottom 🤘 I wonder if Charles McGill would have told Jimmy he was David St. Hubbins how his life would have been
Reminds me of that one video "ON THE BASS..." 😂
eyyy rare Omnific mention, niiice!
"... The complete opposite of AJFA" is diabolical 😂
You should make a video on D.D Verni of overkill, man’s a beast!
I've just discovered the duo Roxferry made up of 1 bassist and a drummer but they sound like a full band, crazy bass tones!
Can you make anesthesia pulling a teeth full cover pls.❤ Ps: you are the best
hopefully James Hetfield had his bass muted just like he likes it
I remember McFly and Busted joining together as McBusted and they had 2 behsists in the group

Theres a dope band named Megachurch with only 2 bassists and a drummer.

Legendary DC post-hardcore band Black Eyes, who were on Dischord in the early 00s, had 2 bassists and 2 drummers!
Theres a very underrated post punk band from the nineties called Girls against Boys that had two bassists. They are criminally underrated, one of the best bands from that era yet noone knows who they are.
There was a performance in Finland This year that was a unique piece made for The art night which was sitten for and played by 100 bassists
Ned’s Atomic Dustbin 🤘
"I'd rather get stuck in a lift with Moby" I do not hate myself enough to offer that to the universe as an alternative.
Megachurch from Cleveland is my favorite implementation of multiple bassists
Finally a Megachurch comment. Exorcism is such a banger.
It’s something if love to try. Have lead bass, rhythm guitar and bass bass. Could be fun.
Day 9 of asking for Gareth McGrillen’s bass tone
(From the band pendulum, I’d recommend witchcraft as an example as he plays bass in it and has a solo)
Kids growing up have always had 2 dominant ambitions: Joining a band and getting to second bass.
