Oh wow what an amazing relaxing, exciting video. I love colour swatching and I think I need these paints in my life. The quality of paper artsy paints is just brilliant thank you
I'm so happy to hear that you found it both relaxing and enjoyable. I love to swatch, especially when I'm exploring a new(ish) medium... and yes, I completely agree about PaperArtsy paints... and these new Mattints really add another world of possibility.
Happy to have eased your curiosity a bit... Watch out for an episode coming soon using the Mattints on some tags with my Printed Tissue for even more of a look at how they work in action. Thanks for watching and commenting.
This was so so cool! Thanks for turning me on to subtle glazing colors already mixed and vibrancy. I look forward to ordering these when I have a space to experiment. Love your enthusiasm and fun of the experimentation. ❤❤❤❤
They are a real treat to play with, not like any of the other mediums I've got... well worth exploring if you enjoy mixed media work. Thanks so much for watching and for your lovely, thoughtful comment.
So awesome! I knew as soon as I saw these that I needed them but life hasn’t let me try them yet! Good job that I watched you! I figured out that I was missing shark!! Just ordered it! Such fun!! I must do this type of swatch when shark arrives because I am sure that it’s even more magical in real life!! Yay! Thank you!
So happy that you enjoyed this colourful swatching, and I hope you have lots of fun playing and blending and mixing and layering the Mattints when you get a chance. As you can probably tell, I love Shark a LOT... I hope you like it too! Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comments.
Such fun watching you swatch! I absolutely love the subtle look of paints/tints.I swoon at the impressionistic era. Thank you! I couldn’t resist the purchase of the paints. ) Happy Sunday to you :)
Sorry (not sorry) to have tempted you into going shopping. These Mattints are really something quite different from anything else I've worked with, so I'm sure you'll be happy you've added them to your supplies. I agree... the subtle tint of these glazes is irresistible! Hope you're having a lovely Sunday.
Hi Alison… I was just thinking about Sunday Swatching and here it is! YAY… I really enjoyed the swatching process and seeing those amazing subdued transparent colors… I will look forward to adding them to my collection of PaperArtsy paints (my favorite brand) when they’re available to me. So many possibilities for these Mattints! Thanks for sharing your creativity and inspiration! Have a great day! 🙂
Thank you for another lovely comment - so delighted you enjoyed the video. And I hope you enjoy the Mattints as much as I do, when you get your hands on them. Happy Sunday!
“The purest and most thoughtful minds are those which love color the most.” John Ruskin Colors make me so happy. And judging by the comments section, I am thankfully not alone in this. 🙂 Thank you for doing this Sunday Swatching series. I so enjoy it. Cheers from California, USA
Oh, that's an amazing quote from Ruskin - thank you for sharing it. I'm delighted you're enjoying the swatching - colour is an endless source of pleasure and inspiration here too. Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
Thanks Alison, this was so much fun! Also a super distraction, they are finishing my roof today. They showed up at 6:30 AM again and were banging by 7... The Mattints are super, can't see them in my near future so will look to you for playtime with them!
The Mattints really are like nothing else I've worked with... and watch out this week for some wonderful new colours!! Hope all is done and dusted with the roof now.
They really are unlike anything else I've played with... I'm still exploring what they can get up to. And I'm very happy to hear you like my laugh... always pleased to spread a bit of joy! Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
It's so interesting how they are so vibrant in the bottles, then so subtle when you use one layer, and then so vibrant again as you build up the layers!!
@@w0rdsandp1ctures I’m so sorry!! I’m watching on the tv but using my iPhone to comment so it must’ve run on to the next video (it’s happened another time recently🙈 I need to be more careful🙈) but lucky you knew what I meant lol. I’ve recently discovered your channel and am enjoying your talents, thank you for sharing ❤️
oh thanks for this -I've had Nutty and Fern for quite some time and really wasn't sure what to do with them, now I understand them better, I will now play and look forward to more videos about this product. love and hugs from usa
Great to hear that you're encouraged to have a play with your Mattints - they have unexpected delights in store! Thanks so much for taking the time to comment.
I haven't even finish the video...yet, but your joy in color is contagious. I'm new to your channel and almost skipped this thinking I wouldn't enjoy it as much as others. But it's very fun and interesting. I have shark and now I can't wait to use it. I love your channel and I seem to love the same colors you do and have also, as I've gotten older, learned to like the purple family colors more (still not in love with pinks however). But I do NOT like gardening, lol.
My palette tends to be very led by the seasons... my Instagram grid looks very different in autumn than it does in spring! And those colour shifts all feed me in different ways. I tend to favour the cooler end of most shades, and definitely natural tones over neons or artificial. That's where pinks have started to arrive, I guess - via the roses (and now ranunculus) in the garden, as I said. And five years ago, I'd have said the exact same thing about gardening!! Colour is such a powerful emotive force - endlessly fascinating. I'm so happy you enjoyed this swatching video as well as the Few Minutes of Fun. The channel itself is relatively new (I've only been adding content regularly for a few months, compared to years on IG or my blog), so there's plenty more to come... Thanks so much for watching and commenting.
And now I am also obessed. Thank you. I may never have tried this product because of the way it looks in the bottles but the translucence is splendid. Great fun.
I know... from the bottles you simply don't expect what happens when they get on the paper. Glad to have added another obsession for you!! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thank you so much for this fun video, it colored my sunday morning😃 so fun to see how exited you are about this new product and I totally agree with you. How awesome that it looks like watercolour but is permanent and that you get al these beautiful tones, from delicate light to vibrant and how beautiful they mix with eachother.😍Have a wonderful sunday❣️
What a lovely bunch of swatches and thanks for ansering my question about the reason why you do this. It is so much fun to hear your enthusiasme through the whole video. Loved it very much!!
It is so beautiful! But now, I am wondering how color mixing is going to be different from what you did of color layering? So now you’ve done it! I must figure out how to make a swatch sheet that does at least all three ways but maybe even more! Like you, I just love looking at the beautiful colors!! The pink and squeezed are so far my favorite! But then, pink is one of my favorites!! Thank you! Again!!
You actually get pretty much the same result if you pre-mix your colours on the mat - though obviously that way you can play with the balance of the mix in one go rather than adding layers of this colour or that one to get the shade you want. I think I did wave the tags I'd made with the Printed Tissue at one point and on those I mixed my colours on the mat before painting the images so it definitely works both ways!
My first three colours (shark, fern and jam) arrived today, together with your printed tissue; I can't wait to play! I was going to wait until next month for some more colours - but I don't think that I can 😁
Oh, that's a great combination to start with... if you make a little three way mixing grid with those, you'll get lots of delicious subtle shades. I hope you'll have lots of fun playing, both with the Mattints and with the tissue.
I don't know whether you can access this link (if you're a member of the PaperArtsy People Group on FB, you definitely can... if not, maybe you can)... but there's a colour wheel PDF there which you can print and use to play with mixing up your three new Mattints. facebook.com/groups/paperartsypeople/permalink/969177500624224?locale=ms_MY Just ignore where it says Red, Yellow and Blue and put in Fern, Shark and Jam instead!
OMG love the softness of all the colors this is my first glance at this product love to learn more about it! have to look uo about the tags you made with it Stunning product and swatches! Is there also a video some where of your hobbyroom somewhere would love to see your creative place! 😊
Mattints are a lovely new toy to play with! I did do a Live for PaperArtsy with those tags I showed during this video... hopefully, you can get to it via the link below (I'm not sure if you have to be a member of the PaperArtsy People FB Group or not to watch). If you can't, I will be doing something similar as part of A Few MInutes of Fun some time soon... There's no full craft room tour, sorry - just the glimpses I'm sharing in the Shorts, and plenty of photos scattered through my IG feed over the years. Thanks as always for your company and comments. Love this few minutes of fun…LOVE that text stencil and those yummy colours😍😍….yes I’d love to see a flip through please!!
