Love the vid! Informative and to the point. We need more videos like this. One thing I want to point out: On the Offensive Linemen indicator bars against the D-Line. The two bars indicate resistance as you mentioned, but it's in regard to the player you are controlling as it pertains to which side they're resistant to. For instance at 15:09 you show Graham against #77. #77 is resistant to moves Graham will do to #77's left, but not to his right. Then at 15:37, it's Moore and #70, where #70 is resistant to Moore's moves on his right side. Just wanted to highlight that. Otherwise, incredible vid. I actually didn't know the Check/Release routes read coverage before moving, so that's great to know and I'm gonna use that in my upcoming franchise games. Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much bro! And OMG!! You are a LEGEND FOR THIS!! I really didn’t know that but it makes sense now why there are two bars! See this is why you guys are the goats man like seriously I did not know this! I’m definitely gonna have to pin this comment and mention this in a future video! Thank you sooooo much I really should’ve wondered considering there were two bars for each lineman! 🙏🏼👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
@@londonkynng so I only left that out because it’s so situational but I think I should’ve mentioned it. I remember when games came with a booklet that it explains the in and outs of the game, I guess we just come to TH-cam to figure things out now. Great video.
As a kid, getting a new game for Christmas, while not at home, I would read the booklet while out, so as soon as I got home I was able to jump into a game. and that was just for what A, B, Select, Start and the D pad did. LOL
For anyone that’s struggling with the read option button switch (idk why EA did this), think of it from the defense standpoint. If the lineman crashes down, hold X/A, if he doesn’t, press nothing. Thats how I was able to train my brain to stop doing the wrong thing lol
They switched it because that’s how it works in real life. The play design is to hand the ball off, if the defender crashes the QB reads that and pulls the ball. I don’t think it was a necessary change and it does take some getting used it but that was their reason for it.
To the people hating the option pull or give mechanic to tap a or x to pull I understand your grief but as a quarterback this mechanic is much more realistic and smoother
The blue dots refill after time outs and after plays where you don't use a pass rush move. Could be more info on that but i know those two are for sure. Great video btw!

Can you explain the route trees that have multiple route options and how to use them? Like the main route is a post but it also has a faint hook or corner drawing too?
Oh for sure! So those option routes are basically telling you that the receiver (if the AI works as intended) is going to assess the defensive coverage and run the route based on what he sees on the fly. So for instance if you have a post route with a hook and a corner faintly in the route art your receiver will be thinking post on release BUT let’s say he sees the deep safety cheating inside to take away another route and hypothetically the corner is on a hard flat and he sees the sideline is nothing but real estate he’s going to take that corner route and be looking for the ball. Another option might be that hook or hitch that you described which he might decide to take also if let’s say the safety cheats deep and the corner is playing drop coverage on release he will notice that and see that the post and corner might both be covered but the hook/curl will be there for a second if the QB sees him in time. There’s no real way to influence this short of hot routing or motioning OTHER receivers to try to influence how the secondary plays it. I hope this helps brother 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
So for the tight ends I’d say that since even the most OP tight ends are still never usually more than 90 speed, play a cover 2 and user the strong side safety to take away the tight end. Your safety should have zero trouble with him and shade under as well so you have hard flats to take away those pesky drags and zigs while you’re busy taking away the corner. For stopping corner routes in general call something like a Tampa 2 or Cover 2 Man if you have good corners and manually set your corners to purple zone AND shade outside! You could also change your coverage depth in coaching adjustments to somewhere around 15-20 yards for curl flats or hooks. Shading outside is important here though as the DB’s make it a point to take away the sidelines. Putting your OLB’s on cloud flats and shading DB’s outside is also a fantastic way to discourage corner routes because unless they get super lucky or hella precise with lucky timing you’ll have an interception opportunity every time. The only downside is that with this last technique I gave you you’re gonna be leaving the middle butt naked so you might want to put your fastest D lineman on a lurk and user your MLB to try to take away slants or seams but typically unless someone is getting slick with hot routes a lot the corner routes will be coupled with flats or drags. Go into practice and get the hang of making all these adjustments second nature so you can do it before they get a chance to quick snap you. Human opponents are usually taking the time to setup their offensive adjustments anyway unless they’re running in which case you don’t have to worry about no corner routes 😁 I hope this helps bro 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
That’s alot to read here’s an easier way. 1) run nickel cover palms 4 or quarter and man up the slot receiver shade outside take safety and watch the middle. 2) to stop any TE route just take the closest Linebacker and hover over the TE and hold LB or L1 it’ll jam him up and he can’t go anywhere. I love this especially when they are bunch TE or similar formation just hover press LB or L1 you need to have e defensive assist on 200% that TE is dead ☠️ learning to press LB while on defense is key trick to learn
Yeah I apologize for that man I actually bought a SM7B and a mixer recently so future videos will be much better hopefully! I switched from my Rode NT because I thought this PDX sounded better but it just doesn’t. Better things to come though! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Thanks for this video. I had some of these i knew but not the dots nor the OL bars I thought it was fatigue thank you again first time subscriber I'll be following more you have any good playbooks for both side of the ball I use Tennessee as far as my team but I use Texas offense and 3-3-5 tite I'd appreciate a comment on this thanks one more time great job on explaining the symbols on both sides of the ball
Thank you so much bro and welcome! So 3-3-5 tite is by FAR the best defense in my opinion and I’ve had the most success with Oregon and Auburns playbooks! Although I use a custom variation that combines what they both do well! You want to use Oregon and basically incorporate a lot more screen plays it makes it very tough to stop depending on your personnel! I also incorporate a manual hook and ladder (lateral) play in mine which is fantastic for late in the half or end of game! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I don’t know for the life of me why EA did not include a training mode (similar to past madden games) to help players understand all of this. The mini games passing off as “training” is a huge miss in my opinion.
Facts man I agree! I had to figure out like half of this just by trial and error and testing. I wanted to release the video like the second day the game was out but had no idea what a lot of them meant until I tested them 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I was thinking the same thing. Those tutorials helped so much. With the first college game in 11 years, you would think that a comprehensive training mode would have been included.
Thank you bro! And yeah I’m sorry about the mic I bought an SM7B a few weeks ago so all of my newer videos have clean audio. I was using an NT-USB before but XLR is just way cleaner 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
That’s the one BIG caveat to this. You’ll want to make your main adjustments muscle memory by going into free practice and memorizing them because just knowing what to do isn’t quite enough you have to train your hands to make the adjustments with near lightning speed 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
So in dynasty it seems right now that the system they’ve implemented is one where your QBs (and all other positions) get XP and use it as THEY see fit throughout the year so let’s say your QB is a Field General archetype (which as of the time I’m writing this cannot be changed), he will upgrade not only Field General type of abilities such as Dot, Step Up, etc when able, but he will also focus on upgrading attributes that benefit his archetype the most and have the highest “ceiling” as indicated by the little boxes or boxes with the crossed out line through them under the “Physicals” tab when viewing the player card. He will also spend his own XP on mental abilities if he sees fit, but again after a lot of testing it seems as if this is up to the player themselves (or perhaps the games logic) to dictate where these upgrades or skill points are allocated. It’s an interesting system that EA decided to use I’m still getting used to it for sure. I hope this helps I think I should make a full video on this 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
@@CodenameSteev im talking about in CUT only where you go to the upgrade screen and it says "achieve (certain rating) to unlock abilities you buy with the training points. How do you upgrade your CUT player to get the higher level training abilities?
Hey bro! So when you go to the player card you should see a coin/points value in the top right. When you tab over you’ll get to ratings, mentals or physicals. All of these can be upgraded if you either have enough points or if the player is eligible for the ability (if it’s unlocked). The plus sign typically indicates that one of these scenarios is available for you to choose, if you’re referring to the same plus sign I’m thinking of. I hope this helps bro 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I’m sorry. I think sometimes I worry that I’m too far from my mic so I talk a bit loud. I’ll definitely be more cognizant of that in the future my bad man 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Oh yes that determines whether you want to cut it upfield immediately or try to take the edge and get outside! If that lineman lingers outside you want to cut up asap but if he crashes in you want to take the edge. Sorry I didn’t even notice that at first 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Oh yeah I’m sorry about that bro 😅 I just bought an SM7B! I figured I do this enough and I love it so I need the best. Sorry again man better audio in the new videos 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
So if you either submit your player on a video comment using #addplayer then your player details or if you want to basically guarantee you’ll be added you can join the discord and add him in the cfb-addplayer channel 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
@@MrDelvonf Ohhh yeah bro I feel you I think that’s more coincidental though I feel like that happens to me too but as far as I know there’s no way to actually be certain what plays your opponent’s are running and same the other way around. You can use very educated guesses based on many factors and habits if you pay attention but even then you’ll guess wrong at times 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Yeah it took me a while to get good at it. Now I’ve found my stride in 3-3-5 Tite and I double tap R1 to contain my ends most plays and user either my MLB or Safety. Practice you’ll get it my man 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
@@mlyle1000mobile Oof yeah bro that’s the one area that’ll be slightly difficult, BUT there’s a few plays in 3-3-5 tite with the words Mid Blitz in them. If you run a Mid Blitz and user one of the LB’s that’s blitzing and drop back in coverage in case of a pass you’ll do well to stop the run. Also shade overtop because this will get beat deep depending on your personnel. Another thing you could do is run a Cover 1 Robber and user the Safety that’s on the mid yellow and pinch up front. If they run do your best with the safety to force the RB inside unless it’s already an inside run. If it’s a pass user the safety and WATCH THE SEAMS! Shading outside on this does you some good as well. I hope this helps bro 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
You mean the safeties right? If you have a QB with Platinum Field General (I believe this is the ability) you will see those numbers above a safety at times letting you know which coverage shell the team is in, so for instance a 3 above the head indicates the defense is showing a cover 3. In my testing I’ve noticed that not only is this just the shell meaning they could be in a different coverage post snap, but also it seems there are abilities that linebackers and safeties can have that supposedly can throw this off as a sort of counter. I can’t say for sure because I haven’t tested that myself, but I’ve been told by reliable sources that it’s the case. I hope this helps! 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
As an old dude, how do we have enough time to cycle through all of these screens. The pace is really fast. I miss the old Sega Genesis with the 3 button controllers...Ha Ha.
Lol so true man 😂 I had to practice programming this to muscle memory for like a week! Give me back Sega Channel where I could play with one hand while eating a hot pocket with the other and have access to like 50 legendary games like Streets of Rage and DinoLand Pinball 😂👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
They’ll usually only pop up for specific play types but you don’t see the M for Mike LB or the 🔥 for the possible unblocked blitzer? Those are super common I wonder why you’re not seeing those 🤔
I see the Mike an I might overlook the heat but the other ones yea I for sure don’t see.. its prolly because I mainly play defense an catching picks 6’s so I rarely play the O
I just wish EA would fix the highlighted player for the match stick options. I can barely see the composure and health meters (I play this on my PS5 Portal). You can barely see the meters. In previous games like NCAA 05 on PS2, these meters worked well, easy to see, bright and bold colors. EA JUST F’d this game all around.
Nothing yet unfortunately 😮💨 we’ve been trying and troubleshooting for days and I have two reps that I’ve been communicating with that are all the sudden looking like deer in headlights. As if the devs are oblivious as to how to fix a problem that they themselves created. Sorry if I’m venting I’m just so frustrated right now bro 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
So much of this is regular football knowledge but just not explained properly in game. I really hope EA bothers ironing out the little things to make the game better
Facts man that’s so true! I just wanted to make this video in case people were having some trouble with some of the meaning behind these alphanumeric symbols that come up. My thinking was that even if only one part of this video helps someone it’s a success 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Interesting information BUT I’m calling BS on EA for this. I understand the intention of these symbols, as explained in this video but for option and RPO plays, reading these letters and having to make split second decisions based on what those defenders (with letters) do, does NOT WORK half the time. The QB will auto-handoff the ball if we dont decide quickly enough. But we’re supposed to wait a fraction of a second, to see what the defender (with letter) does, then press a button to pass, or dont press to keep or handoff. It all has to happen within a SECOND. This is BS. I’ve lost count on how many times I’ve intended to pass or keep and pitch but the QB does a handoff. NOT what I intended to do. So the mechanism is broken half the time while we’re also supposed to make these decisions within seconds. Sorry but this just doesnt work as intended. Maybe it doest during practice. On the easiest mode. But try this during a dynasty mode game, while the clock is running, at a higher level like Heisman. I appreciate the explanation here. Now I know what the mystery letters mean but using that information to make split second decisions on whether I keep and pitch or pass or handoff… it doesn’t really work as easy as this video explains. The TIMING has to be PERFECT and within seconds which makes this unusable imo. Seriously… dont press that triangle quick enough to pass, qb will just handoff. Happens all the time. And we’re supposed to WAIT to see what these defenders do…. Yeah, right. I get the intention. In REAL football, players make “reads” etc. But this is a video game, trying to do way too much. Its overkill.
I definitely agree with this I feel like they kinda made this too convoluted tbh. Also so much of this is difficult to do before the play clock runs out on us 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Yep, theres a TIMING factor to using this information but I found that it doesnt work. Functionally it doesnt work as easy as its explained here. The matchup stick options in NCAA 2005 on PS2 were all we needed. The highlighted players were 10x easier to see. This game just sucks
@@CodenameSteev oh man I wasn’t saying your video was BS 😕 or anything about the content. I’m just old and don’t have time to learn and practice this shit so I don’t get my ass handed to me by my little brother. The video was great 😁
Bro I’m a thorough person. When you guys click you see the time before you watch. I’m sorry I’m not at all a confrontational person but I don’t understand that complaint. If I did them all in 30 seconds people would complain that they don’t fully understand. Explaining them in 30 seconds is obviously very possible but in my opinion adding examples adds to the experience so I respect your opinion and I’m sorry it wasn’t satisfactory for you and I mean that genuinely. I just have to do it this way man. But I appreciate the feedback either way I’ll at least try to shorten it up in future videos if at all possible 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

Thx for this!!
You’re so welcome my brother 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
This is a great video. Thanks!
You’re welcome bro thank you!!
Very informative I appreciate it brother
My pleasure bro thank you for your support 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I don’t know for the life of me why EA did not include a training mode (similar to past madden games) to help players understand all of this. The mini games passing off as “training” is a huge miss in my opinion.
Facts man I agree! I had to figure out like half of this just by trial and error and testing. I wanted to release the video like the second day the game was out but had no idea what a lot of them meant until I tested them 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I was thinking the same thing. Those tutorials helped so much. With the first college game in 11 years, you would think that a comprehensive training mode would have been included.
How did you get a custom team in the game? I wish I could customize a school like you can in NBA2k

Great information. Just FYI, your mic settings are to high.
Thank you bro! And yeah I’m sorry about the mic I bought an SM7B a few weeks ago so all of my newer videos have clean audio. I was using an NT-USB before but XLR is just way cleaner 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
I hate that they changed the read option from Madden. You don't hit anything to keep with your qb. I still get messed up on that
Yessss I get it messed up constantly I even did it in this video 😅👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
All these adjustments are needed while the play clock continues to evaporate. We dont have time to pull all this up
That’s the one BIG caveat to this. You’ll want to make your main adjustments muscle memory by going into free practice and memorizing them because just knowing what to do isn’t quite enough you have to train your hands to make the adjustments with near lightning speed 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
True
How do you upgrade your qb so that he gets the field general and all the other higher ability slots?
How do you upgrade your CUT player to get the higher level training abilities?
what’s the “plus” sign symbol on player card in dynasty and how can you level him up ?
@@CodenameSteev thanks man , i had a hunch that was the case but couldn’t figure out how to actually upgrade the player
@@Gh0stEE5 You can’t upgrade them. They accrue skill points and then spend them on whatever they want.
Good info, but why are you screaming? 🙉
I’m sorry. I think sometimes I worry that I’m too far from my mic so I talk a bit loud. I’ll definitely be more cognizant of that in the future my bad man 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Because it’s how people gaming sound while in a game on that headset. It’s same for my gaming on Warzone and on the PlayStation mic
Why do Touch Passes and Jet Sweeps have a read "R" still above the DLineman? There's no option....
Oh yes that determines whether you want to cut it upfield immediately or try to take the edge and get outside! If that lineman lingers outside you want to cut up asap but if he crashes in you want to take the edge. Sorry I didn’t even notice that at first 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
This is super helpful but holy your mic is so loud. Its peaking even. Recommend you turn down the mic
Oh yeah I’m sorry about that bro 😅 I just bought an SM7B! I figured I do this enough and I love it so I need the best. Sorry again man better audio in the new videos 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Is it the same in Madden?
Some of this is the same in Madden but not all of it I will have to make a video for Madden 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

How do I submit a player for Dynasty?
So if you either submit your player on a video comment using #addplayer then your player details or if you want to basically guarantee you’ll be added you can join the discord and add him in the cfb-addplayer channel 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

How can you check if online opponent is playing pass or run?
Is this a trick question? 😅👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
No my opponents always pass alot and every time I play pass they run the ball.
Defense is trash in CFb 25 it’s so hard to
Yeah it took me a while to get good at it. Now I’ve found my stride in 3-3-5 Tite and I double tap R1 to contain my ends most plays and user either my MLB or Safety. Practice you’ll get it my man 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
How do you stop the run in 335 i got smashed lol.@@CodenameSteev
I suggest playing on All American. The cpu cheats like crazy on Heisman
What does it mean if they end up with numbers instead 🤔

Someone finally explained what the blue dots mean and the bars on the OL . You goat
Awesome man I’m glad I could help 😁👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Only icon that pops up for me is the read option icon
EA JUST F’d this game all around.

no words on teambuilder??
Nope I tried doing a league with him and it doesn’t work
Nothing yet unfortunately 😮💨 we’ve been trying and troubleshooting for days and I have two reps that I’ve been communicating with that are all the sudden looking like deer in headlights.

Also so much of this is difficult to do before the play clock runs out on us 👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Jesus Christ. I’m just trying to have fun playing a video game. All this BS is too much. Takes the fun out of the game.
Yep, theres a TIMING factor to using this information but I found that it doesnt work. Functionally it doesnt work as easy as its explained here. The matchup stick options in NCAA 2005 on PS2 were all we needed. The highlighted players were 10x easier to see. This game just sucks
@@supercommando440 fr I’m not trying to get a D1 coaching job. I already have a full time career 😁

You could have explained all of these icons in 30 seconds each. Why did this video have to be 17 minutes long?
Bro I’m a thorough person. When you guys click you see the time before you watch. I’m sorry I’m not at all a confrontational person but I don’t understand that complaint. If I did them all in 30 seconds people would complain that they don’t fully understand. Explaining them in 30 seconds is obviously very possible but in my opinion adding examples adds to the experience so I respect your opinion and I’m sorry it wasn’t satisfactory for you and I mean that genuinely.
