A tip for anyone going after Pebble: The daily quest can be shared even if it's not "active" that day. That does require having a friend who the requirements to pick up the quest to share it with you, but once they've got it picked up once you can guarantee that the entire process will only take you 10 days.
Spineclaw crab is the pet that consumed all my luck for the rest of the game. I got it on the first monstrous spineclaw I killed, and I wasn't even farming it.
It is, as predicted, the 1 drop Im still missing for the bigger bag achieve. That and Rivendares mount are my white whales! Once in a while, when I find myself with a day of extra time, I log a char on a very low pop server and do some grinding again. Finally, got me Huolon's mount after 9 years..... Spineless Claw, still waiting 😥
It's weird, I don't even remember getting the Wonderous Wisdomball until I seen this video. I thought to myself, "Huh, I swear I've done that quest before." then I looked in my pet collection and, lo and behold, there was Khadgar's head.
Yet somehow, despite nearly 15 years in this game, I have neither, lol (I like doing dungeons solo 😅) I do have Pebble, two pymgy cows, and the wondrous wisdomball, so that's something, yeah? maybe? Guess I should start doing more PUGs (like I've been saying since the pug pet was first available...)
For honorable mention I'd also include a few others... Papi which is a drop from a Stormsong Valley honey bee event. Bumbles takes several days, but isn't really hard. Hungering Claw requires that you unlock a world quest for a chance at the drop and unlocking the world quest is a pain, though technically you could do it in one day.
5:40 when you say that "technically the entire achievement could be completed in a day" it would be true if you wouldnt have to fight several rotating pet trainers in the celestial tournament which only rotates once a week. so you need 4 weeks to get this achievement which all days except 4 are waiting time.
You can actually get the Draenor Angler achievement for the level 3 fishing shack without doing any fishing at all. You just need a shipyard where every ship is outfitted with the Tuskar Fishing Net equipment. You'll get like 30 fish per ship per mission, most of which will be the enormous type and count towards the achievement. You'll still have to wait for shipyard missions to finish, but pressing a couple buttons once a day for a week or two is a lot better than staring at a fishing pool for hours and hours. Edit: Also great for getting ingredients to grind cooking for the pet "Leftovers"!
A little surprised the Tournament of Celestials pet's aren't on this list. As it requires you to complete likely the most difficult pet battle content, multiple times, which wouldn't be a problem, if the teams didn't rotate. Xu-Fu Cub of Xuen, Yu'La, Broodling of Yu'lon, Zao, Calfling of Niuzao and Chi-Chi, Hatchling of Chi-Ji.
Trunks requires a minimum of 3 weeks (technically 9 days if you start on Monday and end on Tuesday the following week).... You have do defeat the 9 "normal" trainers during the Celestial Tournament. There are 3 trainers per week on a rotation.
Welp I think ima get the sun darker. Was just thinking about it the other day. You're able to tame one in Dragonflight so having a matching pet would be neat

The Problem with those special Petfight achievments is that popular strategies often get nerfed and those strats used for example for the elek plushie sometimes dont work anymore
I got number 5, 4, 3 and 2. Honestly, it didn't seem that hard if you're doing what's expected of the zones/expansions (quests, dailies, professions). I actually find the first ones you mentioned a lot harder, especially Trunks, I don't see myself doing that achievement anytime soon lol.
So with sinking time, you actually earned the time sink pet. Trunks can be done in a day, if you are dedicated, maybe 2 if you start from like zero pet.
Yo Hiru love your vids, can u maybe do a top 10 of bosses that got reused/repurposed? I'm thinking KJ from Sunwell - Tomb, King Ymiron fra UP - Maw of Souls, Kel'thuzad etc. and then maybe a little story of how difficult/easy/annoying they were? Keep going :)
A tip for anyone trying to get the land shark or Sea Calf, best spot for lunkers is in The Throne of Elements, if you have the WaterWalking or the Fishing Raft you can float around there can catch about 1 lunker a pool.
My n°1 would be the one for the 2K unique pets achievement, simply because to get him you need all the one in the list + many more (and it's such a time sink that I may even not be possible during DF, depending on how many pets they add)
I think the alpha lightning beaver or something in gogrand not sure I remember what spent hours slaughtering critters trying to get it to spawn. And of course once one did so did another.
I'm surprised the Flawless Amethyst Baubleworm isn't in here. I've only ever seen one player with it that proves it is in fact possible, but TEN THOUSAND pet charms. That's practically enough to buy every other pet reward in the game twice.

I can't believe you didn't mention the kirin tor familiar pet. It's the one where you need to read 10 or something different books around dalaran (northrend) and each book as multiple different books that can spawn in their place and they all have long timers (well they all did when I did this years ago).
if you played actively, you most likely will have most of these pets even without noticing it. Except the first two and the pvp one i have them all (and Uuna is there too, so i will check on Baal later). Thanks for the video

I'd add world drops here,like Azure Whelpling,Emerald Whelpling,Captured Firefly,Gundrak Hatchling and similar. Sure,they are from low level mobs that you one shot,but drop chance is less than 1% and some are dropped only by few mobs,making the grind annoying af...

Wondrous Wisdomball is on this list.. ??? All these years I thought it's just a normal pet I got it in my very first Kirin Tor chest I opened back in Legion.
Kinda surprised the 4 Celestial Hatchlings pets avoid another "hard to get" pets video, considering the Celestial Tournament requires, at minimum, having 13 different, max level, rare quality teams, and each pet costs 3 Celestial Coins, which you can get only 1 per week per account, except your 1st time which gives you 3 coins considering the quests. So, a total of, at least, 10 weeks, not counting the catching and leveling of all the pets you need to beat the trainers.
i'd say each pet rewarded by the defeat expansion trainers with a team consisting of (type xy) meta-achivs pets take way longer then most of these. first all the battles. and most of all, getting specific pets to beat them who may even be on this list here lol and don't forget Violet Violence the pet you get for collecting 1600 unique pets
I had no idea the wisdomball pet was so rare I just thought it was something everyone got after a while. It's been in my pet journal for a long time now and I never even summon it lol

Very true, although when tested different charecters had different trainers, might have been iffy.

Mission tables and world quests giving them, and being account bound, meant that charm hoarders like me didn't need to work that hard.

In legion I had something like 12 pets missing and 7 of them where unobtainable old blizzcon promos and stuff

For Searing Scorchling - if you fully unlocked the Molten Front, you can get 31 marks a day. much better than the 5 or so days the video mentions.

I left the game before pets became really big, so my biggest pet time sink would be any of the whelpling pets, notably Green 🥰
