You could swap out the fan inside the extractor fan with a Noctua fan to make it quiet.
Not a bad idea if he doesn't have to look at it.
not a good idea, these fans are made for static pressure, which means they will pretty much always be loud

I believe Arctic sells some silent static fans as well. Cheaper and works just as well.

Just to let you know Established titles is literally a scam, you don't get any land and even if you would that wouldn't get you the title, they don't plant tree's themselves, supposedly they donate to another company for that, but there's no proof of them doing that either. Scott Shafer recently did a video about them.
It is not a scam. They are giving you a gag gift. Nothing else.

Unfortunately I believe his sponsor is a scam. They do not provide proof that they are donating what they claim to be. To be clear they do not plant trees, rather claim to donate to someone who does. But they do not provide proof.

I want to buy that as well what also may be handy for you is what i also what to buy cause two hands is just not enough. I don’t know what it is called but it has multipul arms with clips on them so it can hold a motherboard etc.

that extractor fan isn't too loud while you were talking, so I wouldn't be bothered if you were to talk while soldering and using it.

Add a tube in front of the extractor fan and leave the fan on the window sill. That will provide some distance between the mic and the fan. Also, wow on the digital microscope, defo excited to see macro work. PS, buy some more cheap, vintage watches from eBay to work on.
Loving the new equipment. Sometimes the smallest things do wonders at improving overall quality as well as making you more invested in the joy of repairing.

Elliot, the bottom lights are the anti-glare lights. They should be lighting the board you are working on, from the left and right side, not from above.

No idea if it's correct or not but I find a bit of sandpaper sorts out a dirty iron tip well, might damage it over long term though

Surgeons use the same type of device as your magnifier. When a surgeon makes the incision, they insert a microscopic camera and then look at the monitor to see what they doing. There is nothing worse than when a surgeon removes the appendix when he should have removed the spleen.

I remember when my teacher at highschool told us that those sponges were bad and the best way to clean the tip from solder is to whack them on the side of the table at max temperature and once the solder is cooled down in the floor use a scraping tool (or a credit card) to remove the galaxy of tin that formed I thought that there would be better ways and now I see that is as easy as getting a copper brillo pad at the supermarket
