Indians are progressively looking better. The cruise control would be a huge advantage over the Nightster. I hope Indian continues to heat up the competition because HD needs it.
Indians have always looked good. But yes, they are looking better and better every year. Cruise control is an easy thing. At least some analog form of it. Atlas Throttle Lock. I plan to install that on my bike when I finally get it. Only costs $150 or so.
Indians are way cooler than HD. In the UK, most would be embarrassed to ride a HD and everyone makes fun of them. The Indians have modern technology and the blacked out looks are modern and popular. Very rare to see them but people I know tend to like Indians
I just recently bought a 2020 Scout. And as a guy who is over 6ft and hasn’t thrown a leg over two wheels in over 25 years, this bike is super easy to ride and is the best bike in my mind for getting back in the two wheel world. It’s got power when you want it, it is nimble, and it’s not insanely heavy. I’m guessing the Rogue is about the same weight at around 550lbs. Thanks Block for this review.
@@bradleygoodrich5569 I would highly recommend getting a set of mini-apes. The stock bars are low for a big guy like me. But the mini’s put the controls in a perf spot.
Pretty funny to run into this comment, the Rogue was what sold me on getting a bike. I would have probably gotten something anyway but when I saw it I fell in love. 1 year later and still loving it.
When it comes to bang for your buck, instead of buying to suit obvious genre(vs HD) this thing seems so on point right now. The styling dept has done a good job with both Scout and Chief. And the Indian press dept is certainly doing a good job getting different people reviewing this bike. Well done.
Cruise control would be cool, but not available on any of the Scouts. Also the quarter fairing is interchangeable with all the Scouts. Lol "hands, feets and seats" I can't wait to try out the Rogue. Another great vid 🤙🏼

@@vincentkeith5259 I am planning to install an Atlas Throttle Lock when I get mine. And this bike is gorgeous. I think I will stick to Atlus (the low tech setup that I can do myself) rather than paying hundreds more along with installation of a computer. Atlus is a basic throttle lock which disengagues when you pull the break. Has a very good installation video also.
I just picked up my 2023 Rogue and your entire review was spot on. I love it! The ergonomics were what ultimately lead to the Rogue over the bobber. It’s only been a week so no customization yet, but I’ve already got some plans in mind. Great vid!
Now I suddenly have a choice to make... I was basically sold on the Forty Eight, but this bike looks killer in the same sort of price range, and much better fuel range.
Bro, I went to Ventura for a short vacay and to check out the Iron and Resin shop there. Stopped by the Ventura Coast brewery and saw a couple of Rogues there for a private event. Those bikes looked SO good in person and now I know what the private event was for... mind blown! I would've been speechless just seeing y'all just show up there lol.
I really don't understand why they don't change the stock suspension.. This is the number one complaint across the board since the bike came out and they still haven't changed it.
I am 100% considering getting a Scout Rogue because of the value-for-dollar. I already have a Chieftain for longer rides and riding 2-up, and I want something smaller and lighter for shorter range and riding by myself. I loved the Chief Bobber Dark Horse with the stage 2, but the Scout Rogue is more affordable and that water cooled engine may be better in the summer heat. Plus, if you ever hear a Scout with a Freedom Combat 2-1 you will want one ASAP.
Thanks to vids like these, i decided to buy a new Rogue this year. First bike, absolutely in love with it - Fox shocks and LED from new factory install, and it's an incredible machine. Obviously as a new rider, i'm not pushing my luck (not scraping pegs) so I can't speak for riding it super aggressively, but over time i've gotten so comfortable with it... not overly sensitive throttle down low, and tons of power up top.... and this thing turns heads ALL the time (yes, mostly guys but not always!) Fully agree. It's a lovely looking and sounding bike but realistically it should be priced no more than £7000 and its double that in the UK. If it was priced correctly it would be extremely popular. At £14000, its not surprising you never see them
This comment is absolutely on the money. It’s a great bike but overpriced and under specc’d. It should have the TFT, inverted forks and full LED package as standard. Also that shock is junk, 2 inches of travel and your spine will feel every bump on the way.

Might be having to buy one once I'm healed since I just laid my dyna down and will need to rebuild it to get her back on the road. Love the videos and going back to watch some of the older videos while laid up in this hospital lol.
Ended up going with the rogue and got the same color as your demo bike. Your amazing content really made my motorcycle journey a lot more enjoyable and it’s because of you that I got into motorcycling and got the iron 883 as my first bike 2 years ago

Great review! If you do a custom rogue it would be good to see one with taller suspension on the front and rear to get more lean angle, without affecting the geometry too much. I'm keen on this bike and I can't find good info on which aftermarket suspension products would work. Most answers on forums are just people bashing the idea and suggesting a different bike. The rogue has 29 degrees of lean angle with 2" of rear suspension travel and the regular scout has 31 degrees of lean angle with 3" of rear suspension travel.
Yo Blockhead, those are the kind of roads dreams are made of. I haven't seen their equivalent over here in Palm Beach County, FL. or the state, or the entire eastern seaboard for that matter. Hey, how about you rag on Indian for failing to put the cylinder deactivation on the bike yet. It's been out for eight years now, and they've had multiple complaints, but haven't addressed this elephant in the room. This bike could be worthy of the Motorcycle Hall of Fame if they would just take care of that one issue. Otherwise, it is that good. Great job on the vid, there bro. Keep 'em coming.
It comes with more tech, which I never thought I'd say of a Harley, but the engine is just lifeless. Seating position on both the sportster and nightster are just weird as well. I really want to like the lineup, but it needs more character. Price is pretty similar to a scout, but I think the nightster/sportster wins on paper. You need to ride them, which is easier said than done in this economy.
I reckon I want one! The rogue is not available in NZ yet that I am aware of (at least in my town), I have been on the lookout. The pipes are a bit ugly in my opinion but everything else looks awesome. Choice review!
Saving up to sell my Rebel 500 and buy this. Was already in love with the Scout and been saving up for it, this makes it even better and want me to get the Scout Rogue even more!!
I recognize those streets, good Ole 805 Ventura County. Oxnard all the way up to Ojai has great views and scenery, you have the beach and mountains 20 minutes away from eachother.
Probably the best sounding bike I've ever seen with an upgraded exhaust. Couldn't justify the price to buy though. Its £2000 more expensive than a Triumph Bonnieville which has better build quality, more features, faster, lighter, better dealer networks etc. American manufacturers need to learn they can't charge top end prices for these bikes. It's only got 1 disc on the front, which makes it look like a budget £6000 bike, not a £14,000 bike
Very helpful brother, thanks. Love Indian Motorcycle. Had a a Harley V Rod. Loved it. But it was not as much bike for the money. Big difference in price for the money!! If a get another bike in the future it will be an Indian.🇺🇸✝️
That scenery is really something. I'm not sure how I'd feel riding so close to some of those cliffs though, but wow, all those curves and grades and stuff to look at, that's really something.
Popular upgrade....rear shocks. Multiple manufacturers make them and you can get the length from the regular scouts and that gives you an extra inch of rear travel and that makes a big difference. At that point, stock shocks off a regular Scout bolt right on so just get some takeoffs. Another thing that isn't mentioned....MILEAGE. I know it's not mentioned much but...stage 1 tune with a Dynojet PV3 tune in it, my buddy (no windshield) breaks 60mpg averages on his. 50's is very common. That's just ridiculous with this kind of power on tap.
I love the look of it with the bigger front wheel and the new seat and black out engine. If i buy one I'd proberbly put on the bigger farring, midcontrols, heatedgrips and exhaust og aircleaner. I dont like its only the tank, thats coloured and i wish the saddlebag fra the regular Scout fit on.
This bike got me into motorcycles. I ended up getting a Scout Bobber because I didn't wanna wait 6 months to get a Rogue after waiting 3 months to take my MSF course and getting my license.
Very informative and great review! I’m so jealous that you and other influencers get to do these kinds of things. I’m buying another bike next month and looking forward to slowly building my you tube channel to a status like yours.
Great review! Good to see Blockhead on the west coast..... 👍 I want to get a Lowrider S but for the price a Scout Rogue is worth it. Some minor mods would make it a great bike. What's your take on those two, HP wise?
My next bike is either going to be a Rogue or a nightster. I slightly prefer the looks of the Rogue but the nightster has a fuel gauge and the HD dealer is about 30 minutes closer
Firstly, great review thoroughly enjoyed it. So I have a Rogue here in England and have a similar issue to what you highlighted, being 5' 10" I keep wanting to sit back on the seat as I was on my Vulcan S and then it becomes uncomfortable, I was considering getting the forward control 100mm extentions which would stretch my legs out and hopefully resolve this issue and put me in a better sitting position but am a little concerned it would disrupt the overall control of the bike, what's your and other followers view on this. Simon
Why are these gas tanks so small? That is a real disadvantage for me. I live where it maybe 50 t0 75 miles between gas stations that maybe closed at night. How much is miles per gallon? What's the price? You left out details that buyers want to know.
With the new Harley Sportster realeses, I think we'll see Indian's stock going up. Harley had years after the Scout's release, and it seems, could not make a better bike (definitely could not make a bike that looks as good as the Scout). I really want to ride a Scout
Well a couple things: 1) the HD comes stock with things you can't even get on the Scout 2) the Nightster is within 10 HP of the big Scout, and being lighter actually has a better power to weight ratio. The Sporty S far exceeds both in HP and especially torque. 3) The Scout is awesome, and so are the new Sportys. Looks are subjective, so I don't think you can definitively say the Scout is a better bike. Each has its merits.
I have a victory octane that is really comparable to the scout rouge but not very common next time in Flordia i could come down to Orlando if you want to check it out?
Fell in love with the Indian scout at first sight. Then loved the scout bob. Now I am turning my head toward the scout rebel. Dammit they just keep getting better!!
No matter how hard I tried to like the new Harley Nightster I just didn’t bond it felt like a Honda the Indian Rogue and the package the v twin awesome so I got one
Did you think you had similar comfort on the Harley-Davidson sportster S . Did you had tail bone pain while riding sportster S similar to Rogue. Both these bikes have 2 inch suspension travel in rear
This is NOT to try and be critical or a jerk, but I am looking more for clarification. All through this you keep talking about when you road the "scout", was that on video? because all I have seen, and been able to find, is you riding the "bobber" versions. I agree with you about how those (bobbers) have a VERY different feel and ergonomics, but what you are describing in this sounds a lot closer to the regular Scout? P.S. The wind blast comments is VERY true, but the windshields seemed to handle that great
I went to our local Indian dealer this weekend hoping to see one of these ( and hopefully buy one ), I was told that they were "order only", and that there were none to be had anywhere in the US. I still would have ordered one but the salesman let me know that the wait was 12-18 months.... I'll still head back up there for demo day in June and take it for a spin, but I bought something else so I can ride for now. : (
Is there a big difference between the sixty and regular rougue? 🤔, as performance, I'm looking for just cruising bike. Any advice? I'm a first-time rider
It's cool to see that you're at Cali, but that stretcher freeway sucks. It's made of concrete and every 8 ft. There's a slab. Sucks big time on the 101 right there
man, i wish this bike had a fuel gauge. its about the only hang up i have with it, other then closest dealer is approx. 4hrs away from me. The new lowrider s is my other choice, but obviously at a much higher price point. This is still a pretty nice bike nonetheless
I mentioned this in Brandon's video. I would prefer to take the rogue front end and put it on a standard scout. You gain an extra inch of rear travel and a better lean angle of 31 vs. 29. I think the larger wheel looks fantastic. It clearly has handling and comfort advantages. I'd probably opt for the bigger fairing as I tend to ride in bad weather (Pacific North Wet). I suspect the only reason Indian didn't do that was... well, who'd buy the standard scout? I guess some people prefer the fat front tire, but I'm not one of them. The popularity of the Bobber likely had something to do with their choice - the Bobber was never the bike for me.
Size, chief is a bigger bike. Scout is small liquid cooled vtwin, chief has a 111ci-116ci big block air cooled vtwin. Scout is comparable to Sportster, chief is comparable to Soft tails.
Also, Chief has larger fuel tank, 6 gears, numbered gears, cruise control, all LED's including headlight, fuel gauge, and high tech thingy for the dial (if you like that sort of thing).
I think the stance is great, so far I'm liking everything about it! I'm going to have to test ride one at the Indian dealer in Reno my next trip down there, I'm on the other side of the state where I live, but every time I go there I have to drive by the dealership and it about kills me lol!

Simon
thanks for a great video!! I have a Rogue on order, going to get to ride one next weekend at a demo Day
" I'll Always Love Heroes Hayden Panettiere "
Why are these gas tanks so small? That is a real disadvantage for me. I live where it maybe 50 t0 75 miles between gas stations that maybe closed at night. How much is miles per gallon? What's the price? You left out details that buyers want to know.
With the new Harley Sportster realeses, I think we'll see Indian's stock going up. Harley had years after the Scout's release, and it seems, could not make a better bike (definitely could not make a bike that looks as good as the Scout). I really want to ride a Scout
Well a couple things:
1) the HD comes stock with things you can't even get on the Scout
2) the Nightster is within 10 HP of the big Scout, and being lighter actually has a better power to weight ratio. The Sporty S far exceeds both in HP and especially torque.
3) The Scout is awesome, and so are the new Sportys. Looks are subjective, so I don't think you can definitively say the Scout is a better bike. Each has its merits.
I been saving for this bike, should have it by winter 😈
Looks nice.
Giggling at those back breakers, sorry for your pain Block
I like both the Roag and the Chief Dark Horse. I got to ride both of them last month between the rain lol
Chief Dark Rogue! Best of both.
That's an incredibly beautiful bike!
So it seems indian has released a new/cheaper updated version of a harley dyna lowrider. Is it offered with mid controls ?
The regular scout actually has a larger lean angle then bobber/rogue
This is NOT to try and be critical or a jerk, but I am looking more for clarification. All through this you keep talking about when you road the "scout", was that on video? because all I have seen, and been able to find, is you riding the "bobber" versions. I agree with you about how those (bobbers) have a VERY different feel and ergonomics, but what you are describing in this sounds a lot closer to the regular Scout?
P.S. The wind blast comments is VERY true, but the windshields seemed to handle that great
The octane is back
I went to our local Indian dealer this weekend hoping to see one of these ( and hopefully buy one ), I was told that they were "order only", and that there were none to be had anywhere in the US. I still would have ordered one but the salesman let me know that the wait was 12-18 months.... I'll still head back up there for demo day in June and take it for a spin, but I bought something else so I can ride for now. : (
Scale of 1-10, 1 being lowest 10 being highest, how would rate the rogue as a quality starter bike? Thanks!
don't buy one as a started bike. buy a used bike with a small motor and build up your skills first.
I live in Ventura!! and I’m so sad I couldn’t have met you and checked out the new Rogue 😢
Watching you ride the 126 in the bumpy ass left lane was funny, the right lane is smooth! 🤣
Is the sportster 1200 still available? It’s no longer on HDs site… I want one of these tho
Is there a big difference between the sixty and regular rougue? 🤔, as performance, I'm looking for just cruising bike. Any advice? I'm a first-time rider
I went to see one today and loved it.. this helped, I’ll be putting down my deposit!
Question to any riders here, would this be a good starter bike for a new rider? Im taking my course end of October. I have never ridden before
Would you change the suspension aftermarket for scouts??? I like the ergos of this but scared of suspension!!
It's cool to see that you're at Cali, but that stretcher freeway sucks. It's made of concrete and every 8 ft. There's a slab. Sucks big time on the 101 right there
That was fast!
man, i wish this bike had a fuel gauge. its about the only hang up i have with it, other then closest dealer is approx.
Besides price, what difference is there between the Scout and the Chief?
Size, chief is a bigger bike. Scout is small liquid cooled vtwin, chief has a 111ci-116ci big block air cooled vtwin. Scout is comparable to Sportster, chief is comparable to Soft tails.
Also, Chief has larger fuel tank, 6 gears, numbered gears, cruise control, all LED's including headlight, fuel gauge, and high tech thingy for the dial (if you like that sort of thing).
Great Video, I am interested, will be checking in with my Indian Dealer!!!
I think the stance is great, so far I'm liking everything about it! I'm going to have to test ride one at the Indian dealer in Reno my next trip down there, I'm on the other side of the state where I live, but every time I go there I have to drive by the dealership and it about kills me lol!
Hey, the British guy said YALL ! Ha, it was you
I hear you. The roads with the lines every couple of feet are choppy
