    I started carnivore October 1st as a challenge and I am never going back to eating any other way.vegetables make me bloated so why would I ever want to reintroduce them back. Sweets brings back to cravings to the point where I can’t stop and start binging.

    I think you summarized it perfectly. Can carnivore reduce symptoms and make you feel a lot better if you have SIBO? Absolutely. Is it actually curing the condition and addressing the root causes of why you got SIBO in the first place? At this point we just don't know... but I hypothesize no. I love your point about this being analogous to managing a food allergy by avoiding the food vs actually curing the condition. I think most people would agree that it's preferable to heal/cure the condition.

      I am wondering if you go strict carnivore how would the bacteria survive long term?
      I’m a zymurgist and bacteria can’t live forever without food and they feed on sugar not meat.
      They die in the lab unless we feed them ideally at least 1 times every 2 weeks. Even then when we plate them a significant amount will have already died.

      ​@Westcoastrocksduh I am in no way near a medical field and just an ordinary guy asking a genuine question. I heard our body convert food to glucose for energy. If that is true, can bacteria in the small intestine have access to that glucose even in a small quantity to survive?

    I feel that you are one of the most adaptable people that I follow. You are not counting out what you are doing to better YOUR health and you are not telling everyone that you have to a certain way or you are stuck in a specific protocol for the rest of your life because someone told you "this is the way"! Thank you for you openness and honesty, it is great to see. I love Dr. Berry as well.

    I also did carnivore for SIBO .. it works..( my doctor suggested it also) it took about 3 weeks…I do more raw pasture eggs and more raw grass finished beef and liver.. life changing 🙌🏻oh and raw dairy helped a lot..to my surprise it also cured my Myalgic, encephalomyelitis, and my Crohn’s and colitis 🙌🏻 wow I could’ve happier ❤

      so after 3 weeks carnivore, could you eat veggies with no bloating, etc? or do you mean it took 3 weeks for symptoms to clear out and now you are fine only if you stay carnivore? thanks for clarifying! i would also like to learn more about healing M.E.... I just saw a specialist that thinks i have that too...😖

      in Canada they dont do SIBO tests at family doc office, so i am on loooong wait list to see a gastroenterologist.

      @@alanacreates no I don’t eat fruits or vegetables… I can’t have sugar or fiber.. plus I have a low tolerance for oxalic acid and
      Glyphosate .. I will do an organic papaya or maybe some organic kale if it’s cooked pretty good, organic potatoes with lots of real butter of course..love organic sourdough, sauerkraut….unfortunately it’s a test thing.. and oh, boy if I learn the hard way over things😂

      @@alanacreates You can order the tests online yourself and work with a naturopath or SIBO practitioner. I'm in Toronto and have treated my own SIBO. Working with a GI might be useless in my opinion. It's still not that well known in the MD world in Canada. The only benefit is that they will prescribe you antibiotics like Rifaximin, which you cannot get from a natural health practitioner. However, herbal antimicrobials have been clinically shown to be just as effective or even more effective than prescription antibiotics. Also, SIBO might be a motility issue related to stress, so you will need to address motility with herbs like ginger or digestive bitters. Hope that helps :) Also leaving at least 3 hours between meals allow the MMC (migrating motor complex) to work effectively so food is not stuck in the small intestine (this causes more gas)

      I am currently weighing out keto & ketovore vs carnivore to address allergies & minor digestive issues. My research shows that grains, sugar, & some or all veggies seem to be the greatest culpits overall, even organic versions. As a foodie who loves healthy recipes and eats primarily organic foods, I am having a hard time seeing myself only eating meat for the rest of my life, even though it has cured so many people's illnesses. I can give up grains, sugar, & most veggies, but LOVE organic potatoes slathered in butter with cream cheese on top! I cook my 'baked' potato in the Instant Pot to get rid of the lectins and it's fluffy & creamy inside, way better than in the oven, & eat it as a meal in itself, without meat, for better digestion. So I am curious as to if you have a reaction to the organic potatoes or not after eating them and also if you eat them as a side with meat? Also, you mentioned organic sourdough...could you pls expand on that as to what form or brand you eat and if it's made with fermented sourdough starter? THX so much for your reply!

    I love that you say, "I am willing to be wrong" and "I may feel differently in the future." It would be great if others did as well... including those with degrees... not knocking anyone specifically. I am glad you aren't claiming to have all knowledge and that you are actively learning how to figure out YOUR body. There are so many who treat folks like cookie cutter same-o, same-o solutions. Our lives are individual journeys why wouldn't what we eat and response be as different than the next person? Thanks for your response to Dr. Berry's video!

    I love your approach to the carnivore diet. I had simillar experience with inulin. I came to a conclusion that by eating L. reuteri yoghurt for months, my population of inulin loving bacteria has grown and possibly setlled in my intestines and now they are eating the inlin I eat and I have no problem. I love and appreciate the work you do. You have literally chaneged my life for better!

    I tried carnivore. But it was not a sustainable lifestyle for me.
    I grow my own veg, and love eating veg. The tedium of protein takes out all the joy from living. I don't live to eat anymore, but eat to live. And that means variety, for me.
    I read Dr Lustig's book, Metabolical.
    I approve of his approach: any whole food diet that you tolerate and can sustain, is the diet for you.
    The main thing is if it grew, flew, swam or run, it's good to go.
    I eat the occasional potato, even though I am lo carb. The potato did not hurt me. And that was my only carb for the day.
    So, I keep it low, and it works for me.
    Keep on doing what you do! And I appreciate your disclaimer, too.
    Maybe you will be forced to go carnivore, but then reintrodicing other foods may cause issues. My friend cannot eat anything else now without getting reactions and very sick.
    Mr Dr advised:choose a woe, and stay on it. I agree with him.
    I'm just glad that I'm free from the grips of processed meats, cheeses, packaged foods, alcohol, crisps, snacks Franken keto foods and the like.
    It is food that God made.... I then eat it.

      @@dannyc9784eating vegetables is not an addiction, it’s a choice. Variety is good and it works for many people. When you eliminate everything, your body will reject them when reintroduced. Eat a healthy sustainable diet, that works for you, and don’t be pressured to eat like someone else.

    I haven’t watched all of your videos so I apologize if this has already been covered. All my life I’ve suffered from recurrent anemia and after developing gastroparesis the hematologist wanted to give me transfusions to bring up my iron levels. I decided that I wanted to try to do in myself after finding out the costs involved!!! I researched and learned things that no doctor had ever told me even though I had been treated for recurrent anemia since childhood. There are several foods that bind with iron causing it not to be absorbed. Black tea is one; calcium is another. I’m pretty sure there were others but those were the two that were problematic for me since I love tea and loved eating dairy earlier in life. Now, whenever I take an iron supplement or eat an iron rich food, I avoid drinking tea and eating high calcium foods or taking calcium supplements at the same time. Another thing I learned was that my body also needed vitamin C and B vitamins to help me absorb the iron, so whenever I consumed a high iron food or take an iron supplement, I always make sure to take vitamin C and B complex at about the same time. Since I had gastroparesis at the time, I used sublingual B complex drops because they are so much easier to absorb. The doctor was surprised at how well I was able to increase my iron level after making those few changes so I didn’t need the transfusion. Also for me personally, after menopause the anemia has almost gone away. I do think some women’s bodies use more iron in our cycles so it is possible that your iron deficiencies are caused by your body using more iron during cycles rather than poor absorption based on digestive challenges. You probably already know all these things but I was shocked how little my doctors had told me about absorbing iron so I wanted to share on the off chance you didn’t know some of this.
    One thing I have learned with the gastroparesis (which the gastroenterologist “speculated” was caused from dysbiosis) is that my health and digestive tract keeps improving as long as I am partaking of fermented foods. I have tried sourdough bread, water kefir, kombucha, fermented vegetables, and I am about to start making fermented dairy/yogurt. After I developed gastroparesis, I began avoiding dairy and realized that it was a trigger for my rheumatoid arthritis, which is why I made water kefir instead of dairy kefir. I feel like I have tried every type of fermented food looking for the one that will finally get me over the finish line. After my D levels finally got into a good healthy range, I was able to start eating dairy again with no repercussions, (apparently the rheumatoid arthritis is healed) so it was through researching making yogurt that I stumble upon your channel. Overall, I do feel like I’ve improved slightly with each new fermented food. I’ve had a relapse of the gastroparesis recently and realized that I’d gotten out of the habit of fermenting and drinking kombucha and eating my fermented vegetables. Our gut flora are a very mysterious and wonderful thing. They protect us far more than we can ever realize and yet sometimes we fail to protect and foster their well being. I don’t believe diet alone can always heal. Nor do I believe there is one right probiotic or one right fermented food to eat. My journey has shown me that a lifestyle of fostering good gut health through fermented treasures is what has helped me the most on my wellness journey, and I assure you I tried most of what western medicine had to offer and I just got worse following their advice, diets and protocols.

    Thank you so much for this video!! You have such a great way of saying things that don't put off anyone else. In fact, you gave me real insight into the health situations that I struggle with. I've always kind of felt guilty that if I don't do carnivore for the rest of my life, then shame on me. You make so much sense that sometimes the symptoms might be controlled for a period of time but there's still the underlying "allergy" or "trigger" is the perfect word!!! I, like you, would like to get to the point where those triggers aren't triggered!! In fact, you helped me see that, in fact, I am doing much better than I was before!! Nili, thank you!! You are wonderful and you make my day!!

    I always appreciate your perspective and analysis. I really enjoy Dr Berry. I know for myself I am unable to sustain a total carnivore lifestyle. I can do it for short periods. We all need to listen to our bodies and work through our own challenges. Supporting each other and our individual decisions is the best part of this community!     Have you tried artichoke and ginger extract? It helps with gut motility so the bacteria don't have to travel to the small intestine to help out

    I have been on carnivore for almost 4 years now, and I absolutely LOVE the simplicity of the diet, honestly. One of the main reasons I am staying away from plants is because of the oxalates and other poisons in them. I do miss my chocolate, coffee, pasta, etc., but the negative impact that they have had in my own life make it easy for me to forgo them.

      Oxalate can be greatly reduced when mixed with calcium in food (milk). I love cocoa. That's how I eat them

    When you go 100% carnivore I what's the SIBO feeling off of? Introducing broccoli after a long time why cant you expect some gas? Thats what what Broccoli produces many time regardless if you have SIBO or not..

    What you are saying makes perfect sense. I've been carnivore for over two years. For December I wanted to take a break and go keto. A couple of days ago I decided to eat a small portion of squash with onions and the gastrointestinal symptoms came flooding back. I even ran a fever with horrible stomach cramps. My system has never tolerated vegetables very well and as you said, carnivore only put that to sleep it didn't cure it. So disappointing!

    Hey Nili. Great vid. 6 years now, I have been following you on TH-cam. At times? I crave veggies. I’m never sure what causes that craving; something I am deficient in… thanks for all you have taught me and many times even though you knew naught? We were learning together. I also desire to at times fully enter into times through various food. My family tries so hard to please me eating wise. I did call home and get a couple of roasts at each granddaughters. 😂 friends bake me or have keto goodies quite often for me to try.
    People at potlucks come find me and tell me if they brought something I can eat. It’s progress not perfection.
    All this to say, I wish you happiness, joy and success in whatever way you choose to meet life. You are an amazing person. Thank you for sharing your life journey with me.

    When we look at different treatments or what is being said about something, we know off the bat that everything doesn’t work for everyone every time, so we all have to figure what is best for us. I had H-Pylori last year and didn’t realize that at the time, and I was still actually vegan and had been for 5 years, after that diagnosis and then a high A1C result at the same time, I researched and found low carb/keto, and have been following this for the pass 11 months and I am happy right now with this choice and my life is great, so I agree you do what makes your life sustainable. The PHD is great for healing a lot of metabolic issues and after that you can make the choice of what will be a life sustaining healthy way of eating that is best for you. I too watch Dr.Berry along with his wife and it is great how they are getting people to just try and see what happens when we eat certain foods, how and what they can do to our bodies. Great video and keep doing what is best! 😊

    Agree 100% ... I'm like the biggest fan of Dr Berry too.
    I did STRICT CARNIVORE for 6 weeks... it was hard...really hard.
    My bowel issues improved but didn't fully resolve.
    Then I started making the L. Reuteri yogurt.
    Wah-Lah! ❤
    These days I eat ketovore. It goes well but too much veg = problems.
    I'm the same way with Inulin... and in fact I used the potato starch in my yogurt out of fear of inulin. Today I'm going to try a new batch using inulin.
    We shall see 🤷‍♀️

    I did carnivore and keto, too. For about three years all together. I lost a lot of weight and felt good. But finally I lost my appetite... I had no desire to eat just one more steak.
    I craved carrots and home made potatoe salad and white rice and I really wanted to eat "normal" again.
    I still eat fairly low carb, but that comes natural to me. I don't crave high carb food or junk food any more. I really enjoy my chicken thigh with vegetables, my milkkefir with blueberrys and my waterkefir with lemons. I don't want to count calories or carbs or whatever any longer. I just want to eat without stress or restrictions, as long as it is as it is.

    That's the thing with Carnivore. Its seems it is an approach to manage symptoms instead to be an approach to heal. This type of approach seems in harmony with the mainstream modern medecine philosophy that seems to mirepresenting symtpoms management as healing which is not the same.

    I better watch the video so I know what sibo is. After being mostly carnivore for almost a year. I'm not losing weight but I am maintaining and I'm not starving myself. I stopped having constant gas until I just tried eating a keto roll that had a tiny amount of gluten and it made me miserable. Today I ate a small amount of cauliflower and again, I'm full of gas . All fibers, inulin, chicory bother me too. I so want to do more keto for variety but I hate feeling like this so I will go back to mainly carnivore.

    I have been eating the L. Reuteri yogurt for a couple of months and I do have to say my IBSD is much better. However, I find that eating the PHD diet also makes my IBSD much better, too. So, who knows? I think we just all have to find what works for us. It is nice though that there are many options out there. If something doesn't work, try something else, and hopefully, everyone will find what works best for them. I adore Dr. Berry. He is a wealth of knowledge and his thoughts make sense to me. And I also appreciate the meaningful studies that he shares.

    Nili, you make perfect sense for how you want to tackle your SIBO. I've been on BBBE since 9/1/22 & absolutely love it. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to eat mac n cheese but it's such a trigger for me that I'll gain all the weight I've lost so far. Boo hoo! Be well.

    Your sibo video popped up and I was like omg I remember I watched you from the old hcg diet days! Funny enough I also have sibo hydrogen kind and I also did carnivore for 6 months, the first month was just meat and salt eggs and I retested sibo after a month and it was literally almost gone and felt great for 6 months but then I got pregnant and went off and ate all the carbs and I never felt like sibo came back until 4 months post partum. I got the bloating and pain like before so I do think I was sibo free for some time while eating all the no no foods for sibo. Now I'm breastfeeding and trying to go back to low carb slowly so I can hopefully go back to carnivore for awhile. I feel the same I want to figure out how I can eat normal from time to time I don't want to be a carnivore forever.

    I don’t know if SIBO was my problem…but I did go strict keto. I have been on it now for 5 months….as a side affect, I have not had my normal almost daily stomach pain and bloating ..not once in 5 months. So for what it’s worth ..that happened…and I lost the stubborn 10 pounds that would come off on my low fat diet. I was expecting nothing, but I sure won’t go back. Having my stomach problems gone was not even in the cards as an expectation, so I was quite surprised.

    Thank you for this video! What you said is definitely truth for me. I did carnivore for 5 months with no cheats. I didn't resolve the SIBO, but it did help. Carnivore is definitely not a cure for this gut.
    Im on a carnivore diet right now, and I'm also taking herbs and supplements to balance the bad bacteria in the gut. I sure hope that it helps.

    Maybe eating veggies isn’t good for humans at all. And if that’s the case, we can’t blame carnivore diet for symptoms coming back after eating veggies. Which may have nothing to do with curing but simply with eating what our bodies are not designed for. IDK. Just speculating. But all I do know for sure is that I went carnivore after realizing that veggies is jacking me up.
    I was on keto for 2 years and benefited from it very well until my health began declining again and my awareness of the veggies kicked in and seemed like carnivore called me. I think I would be dead by now if I hadn’t gone carnivore a year ago, bcuz I felt like I was on my way out at that time and I didn’t want to go. I’m not 100% carnivore yet but like 90%, bcuz I still eat fruit in moderation. Not everyday but a few times a month.
    I’m an old lady and feeling young again on carnivore. Bad knees healing and can walk the stairs and do squats again, no more creeping around and walking like a duck like somebody with a cane, and are walking normal and fast like a young person again. Feeling better now than I did 15 years ago.
    But I’m a try going 100% after the holiday throughout the winter, with no eggs, fruit, or dairy, except butter, to see if there’s a difference.

    Completely agree with you. I am in the same place where if I go carnivore, I can almost completely resolve my symptoms, even though I still have to take meds for my slow transit. But I do like vegetables and I also worry that there hasn’t been enough long-term studies, showing that it is truly beneficial in the long-term for the human body to not have vegetables. I could do keto indefinitely if need be, but not carnivore. That being said, I am on carnivore right now because I have a hot weekend coming up and I don’t want to have symptoms😂. Really hoping one day to be cured and to be able to have a healthy diet that doesn’t exclude fruits and veggies

    I went carnivore for 45 days trying to get rid of SIBO and LPR, but I noticed the longer I went, the more sensitive I became to foods that I was fine eating before! That was disconcerting so I started adding things back in, but yes I’m more reactive now. Frustrating. Will start making the yogurt soon! Thank you for your videos.

    I know how Levi feels about eggs! I'm that way about dairy. I remember when you were going somewhere only to discover he couldn't eat eggs and the unfortunate results! It makes all of us really appreciate everything our parents did for us as kids!

    Loved your video. I did 2 weeks of carno and afterwards all my symptoms came back and I was more sensitive to foods for the first couple weeks. Now I'm on better herbal antimicrobials which are working miracles and I eat a variety of foods but mostly meat and fat. Everyone's level of sibo is different but some sibo clinicians say that most, (2/3), of cases take multiple rounds of treatment and take much longer then 2 weeks to cure. I much rather choose to eat mostly meat bc it's good for me instead of having to do so out of necessity because there are bugs inside me waiting for me to have a cheat day and throw themselves a party :p

    I had such a reaction to cafix and I was like whoa! I use to be able to drink this so I was confused. The ingredients were chicory root. You just found the missing piece to my puzzle. Ty. I'm trying to heal my gut and just ordered my yogurt maker. 🙏

    For me carnivore is the way to go,I am not a moderator,so anything sweet even sweeteners trigger a binge,vegetables
    ,contain oxilates that can cause kidney stones so ,I choose not to eat them and I have no more bloating and feel great,I eat this way for the nutritional benefits and after just a few weeks of going carnivore,all my cravings are gone

    Just a thought. I think one could have SIBO for the same reason as the iron deficiency, not one causing the other. I would say that reason would be low stomach acid. If the ph is to high (above 2.5) it won’t break down the iron or kill bacteria that shouldn’t be making it into your small intestine. You will also experience things like acid reflux and calcium deficiency as further clues to this condition. This is the first time watching your videos so forgive me if this is something you have covered already. One more thought. I think the carnivore diet should help greatly in this situation because it is easy to digest and the iron in meat is more bio-available than most other foods, even supplements.

      This is interesting. I tested very high for parietal cell antibodies several years ago and also have SIBO symptoms. My Dr. ordered an upper GI and colonoscopy which I was told were perfectly fine, so the result was basically dismissed.

    I love Dr Berry and Dr Berg but their answer to everything is "eat keto".
    If you say to them, "Dr , I have bunions..."
    They would say "eat keto"
    It can't be the answer to everyone's problems

    I’m with you, I don’t think you can cure SIBO in 2 weeks either. I tried Carnivore,but it’s really difficult. I want to have an apple once in awhile. When I do then I just have half an apple.moderation is the key.

    I'm a fan of Dr Berry, but when I tried a little carnivore and holy Hell, the digestive reaction was horrible. I've never been diagnosed with SIBO because the GI's I've seen are worthless, but I'm 99% sure I have it. My biggest symptom is steatorrhea (fat malabsorption). If I don't have some fiber with my fatty cuts of meat, I have a really bad time.

    Keep doing what you are doing. The difference in your appearance from when I first watched you. You look so much healthier. My battle is the opposite than yours. I am dealing with Candida. Gut health deals with the immune system. Doctors always deal with norms not individuals. I talked with my cardiologist about your site. He seemed interested but then he brought out the "P" word. Placebo. I'll keep trying till I get it right.

    I understand and can totally relate, bcuz I found that although carnivore has restored my life to a large degree reducing severe arthritis and joint pains all over for me, is not the case with my gut issues. I still have candida overgrowth that I want to go away and not just to sleep.

    In my case I had terrible nutrition and health, then I began the keto diet, actually I'm celebrating my first year. I used to have terrible allergie issues, colitis, gastritis, irritable colon problems, resistance of the isulin, over weight, and so on. Now I don't remember them.
    My health is great, but I've been having some gases and constipation when I eat seeds and some vegetables, so I'm begining a journey through keto carnivore. I'd like to do only carnivore, but in my country the animal meat is so expensive. So in conclusion I think every person should listen to their body. This way we can add or remove food that makes us feel sick and find the right diet. Thanks, great video.😊

    Inulin and other plant fibers aren't really a big thing for me, and I don't use Lily's or other keto sweets for myself, but I definitely pushed myself to the point where I can eat onion and, rarely, garlic. I love them in my food and I still use them with caution, but I use them.
    I am trying to like monk fruit so that I can use it with Victoria's keto flour to make baked treats during the holidays. It's still a bit ick, but I'm not allergic (stevia) blood sugar reactive (most sugar alcohols) or otherwise chemically unhappy (aspartame) with monk fruit. I'll give it until the ($15!!) squeeze bottle's empty to convince me....

    Right Dr gundry has videos on Sibo and gut biome getting upset at certain foods because they needed time to switch back to different digestion mode of the foods your eating then Dr Martin of the Martin clinic talks at length about sibo and such too

    Makes me think that the 100% animal diet does not always totally heal Sibo, or why would it all come back if one added in a few vegetables, for example?

      Because your microbiome has changed due to its adaption to an all meat diet. So once you reintroduce a fruit/vegetable your microbiome has do learn once again how to digest that said food. That's why you reintroduce fruits and veggies slowly after being on an all meat diet. For example, choose one fruit to have that day. Say a banana, eat it twice that day. Do you have a reaction to that fruit? If so, give it a week or two before eating that fruit again. You are trying to get your body used to said fruit and vegetables once again.

    Having helped my sons go thru Oral Immuno Therapy (OIT) for peanuts and eggs, I would only recommend that if he starts getting worse and the threat of anaphylaxis becomes an issue. There is an amazing Dr. in Vancover that does OIT for peanut (maybe for egg, not sure) but it is a long commitment once a week for about 6 months (ours took 1 year) , with things getting more miserable before they get better. The good news is that carnivore is supposed to calm allergies....I also found the powdered Restore (Nutrition Pets, human safe) probiotics seem to calm even allergies that are headed to severe. Also, if one severe allergy is knocked out with OIT, often others get knocked down or even out. Again, long and not fun, but better than a life threatening allergy.

    He does recommend 90 days you need to really listen to what he’s saying. I’ve done keto and I feel more amazing than I’ve ever felt blood pressure down. I feel healthy. You should really look into it and he doesn’t tell you to do it. He recommends it and he also says it’s up to you along with. He’s studied a lot of this and he’ll tell you that, he’s pretty much his own guinea pig

    I think carnivore is good to heal your body and you could probably go back to eating a variety of foods but eliminate processed foods and non organic foods.

    Re not absorbing iron. Have you had a biopsy test for celiac disease? I know of a couple people with just that symptom who tested positive for celiac.

    If you've been carnivore for 3 months and felt fine, but then felt like crap, when adding other stuff in again... I would say it's very simple... You can not tolerate those things!!! Just because you "WANT to add stuff" to your diet, does NOT mean your body agrees... 🤷‍♀🤷‍♀And adding just a little poison/chocolate/whatever causes your pain every day, does not mean you can tolerate it, it just means, that you are getting used to the "small" symptoms, but they will build up over time, whether you like it or not! So everyone needs to figure out, how much pain/symptoms they want to tolerate, because of food boredom... What is your health really worth...

    To be honest, I don't think the point is to be able to incorporate your favorite food into your diet again at a later date. I think it's precisely this favorite food that got you into this mess in the first place. What I notice during the carnivorous diet is what my body wants and what it doesn't. There will simply never be a point when it starts to enjoy the old eating habits again. You've become even more sensitive now that you've regained a good body feeling.
    I would also like to eat normally like some other people. And yes, there are those lucky ones who can eat whatever they want for a long time. On the other hand, I don't know ANYONE in my family or circle of friends who is healthy. They all have serious illnesses or are dependent on some kind of medicine.

    I'm trying to understand this. I've been on carnivore for 8 months. I get severe bloating after eating, I have other SIBO symptoms. What's up with that?

    My snap reaction was that SIBO bacteria eat iron, but perhaps I should say that they steal it, to use for metabolic processes like replication.

      Whichever bacteria I had also produced massive amounts of folic acid in a form that I, having the MTHFR snp(s), am not able to metabolize; so on my blood tests it was through the roof. There isn't a "toxic" level of folic acid, as such, but too much is a metabolic hazard, shall we say, to people with a malfunctioning MTHFR gene....

    I’ve been doing carnivore mostly sense the end of sept. I have found a few food intolerances, pork mostly. My gut does feel better and I have been able to eat some seasoning (I have done Fodmap also). I had SIBO, but tested negative about a couple months ago (yeah), but I have histamine and gut issues. I took a antihistamine one day and my diarrhea got better, my doctor put me on a daily dose of this and my gut is doing better, but I still have histamine issues. Hoping with time that will get better. I also have yeast in my stool, so I’m being treat with and anti fungal for that.🤞🏻My doctor wants me to do more veg, so I’m going more keto now. I have had high cholesterol for a long time and going carnivore it got worse, my triglycerides are up.😬 so working on that too, she wanting me to try a red rice yeast supplement and Q 10. I need to get that and see how it goes.

    Merry Christmas 😘 I understand you. I'm in a long process of finding out, what to add in, that doesn't cause me inflammation, after 2 yeas as carnivore. But... Aren't you really saying, you still want to eat the things, that caused your sibo in the first place. So after only 3 months on cv, it sleeps, because you don't add what caused it. The moment you add those back in, it will naturally come back...?
    I mean: sugar causes cavities in your teeth. If you don't eat sugar for a year, you don't get more cavities. But you bring back sugar into your diet after that year, the cavities are back... 🤷‍♀️

      Sibo isn't caused by eating "bad" food. There are a variety of causes, food poisoning being the most common. Sibo is a condition of bacteria simply being where it's not supposed to. People often think sibo is the same thing as dysbiosis but it's not. The bacteria in your small intestine can be the good bacteria that you want in your body... You just want it to stay in your large intestine. If sibo is cured (the bacteria that's in the wrong place is actually killed) then you should be able to add back in carbs without those specific digestive systems coming back.

    Sounds like a lot acid issue. This could cause both low iron and sibo. Try 2 weeks carnivore with high dose apple cider vinegar or another acid see Dr berg video on sibo
