I met Ms. Kitt backstage at a concert in Houston back in the mid 1990s. She was just as charming, polite and beautiful in person as she was on the screen. She had just finished doing "Boomerang" with Eddie Murphy and I complemented her on her performance. She laughed and said "DAAAHLING, it was just a film role!" One of the nicest celebrities I ever met!
She will always be immortalized as Catwoman in the 1960s TV show, her iconic “Santa Baby” song and the voice of Yzma to me. She’ll always be remembered for her varied and unique career.
This great! But the title made me think it was a mini doc or piece in her not an interview. It should probably read “Interview With Eartha Kitt: From Poverty to Stardom”
Wow, love listening to these old school educated folk... Eartha, I'm surprised I haven't heard of you until this Short... Gonna go on a dive and educate myself a bit I think.
Well said Ms.Kitt, well said! As long as we belong to a race, religion we are hardwired to be prejudiced instead of honoring our race, religion which would make us inclusive instead of exclusive. When we honor something we respect it so therefore we would respect it in others. So respecting & honoring other races & religions would be respecting & honoring the best in others and ourselves without the exclusivity of belonging to something which carries with it hints of judgement & prejudice! Food for thought...
When I read about Eartha's life (and I'm talking about her Autobiography), I come to the conclusion that her life couldn't have gone any other way...meaning, I think everyone's life is planned out for them...if you want to use the word fate then call it fate but I am not sure that is the correct word. She went through hell as a child and was rejected so many times, and often bullied, and yet she became a powerful star on the stage with immense wealth and confidence. It was as if her life had to turn out that way. I just don't think she was meant to have suffered as a girl and then died, or gone on to work in an office as a secretary. This planet and indeed the universe is full of mystery, and why some people go far and others don't is one of the greatest mysteries, but I firmly believe Eartha's talent had to be used for the good of humanity.
Certainly she was fortunate to not have encountered on her way those who ruin what the poor have realized and who have erected deprivation into a kind of universal maxim to make sure that the poor remain the poorest.
How eloquent she is.
Eartha is wonderful! Beautiful, talented and smart, great combo
What an amazing, thoughtful, and and well-spoken human. And a wonderful entertainer. ❤

Sad to think future generations will only think of her as the villainess in a Disney cartoon. But that is in itself a kind of immortality.

What an amazingly beautiful, soft spoken, talented, and passionate human being she truly was. She is remarkable.❤

So open and brave to talk about her trauma...
I love the fact that the host let her speak her mind and not bombarded her with question one after onother

God created woman Eartha Kitt.... lovely person
You'd think she was born in Europe or somewhere like that by the way she spoke instead of the American South.
❤️
