Don't forget to check mirrors _before_ changing speed or direction. Overtaking a parked car, coming back into your lane, accelerating after a change of speed limit or after entering a new road? Check mirrors first.
When learning manual I think one of the best ways I was taught that was any gear change, just check the relevant mirror(s). It's an auto cue since changing gears will always involve adjusting speed of any kind or preparing to slow/corner. Merge the 2 together and it becomes a lot easier to remember. Same thing with going around parked cars. If you'll need to turn the wheel even slightly, check again.
I have to say, she wasn’t a bad driver. But her attitude towards safety needs improving. As a learner driver, instead of trying always to justify your mistakes, such as blaming the road condition or other drivers, put your ego aside, be open minded to learn how you could improve. Stay calm, and always listen to the advice of your instructor. Even if you don’t agree with them, they are the experts and know how to drive. You are there to LEARN. Make mistakes, listen and learn. Safety on the road is paramount.
My instructor would say something similar to me about younger drivers (I was not a youngster when I had lessons) in that they tend to lack the brain development that comes with maturity that makes them more risk averse. They tend to barrel in to unsafe situations a lot more.
Over the years, I've been watching your videos and they've been a great source of learning and also entertainment. I can now watch these videos with a different perspective. I passed my test last week with 5 minors! 🎉 Thank you Pin!
I passed my test today with one minor fault, and your videos have been so helpful. I can finally watch now without the stress of having to pass 🎉 Thank you
She is improving with every new video, this is great she can look back at it in the future when she will be a fully licensed driver, that's the beauty about internet.
She's doing well, awareness and mirror checks moving in and out of narrow streets needs to be a lot more frequent. Slow down earlier to give yourself more time to assess corners and hazards, that was one of the things I had a problem with when learning 😅 managed to get that habit out in a lesson or two but you need a lot of clutch and brake control to get it well balanced.
I cant thank you enough for your content, it helped me do my driving test without taking lessons with instructor, I passed it on 2nd time with 3 minors.
02:52 🚗 Leave ample space when passing parked cars to avoid collisions and allow for door opening. 03:34 🛣 When giving way to oncoming cars, maintain a minimum gap from parked cars to ensure visibility. 07:03 🚦 Maintain proper positioning at traffic lights to prevent obstructing other drivers. 08:33 🚙 Adjust positioning to ensure smooth traffic flow and prevent obstruction. 11:14 🚸 Be cautious of blind spots and ensure adequate visibility before proceeding. 13:46 🚗 Anticipate the behavior of other drivers, especially in tight spaces with parked cars. 21:23 🚧 Maintain composure and focus after making a mistake to avoid further errors. 22:44 🚦 Stay vigilant and prepared to react to unexpected situations while driving.
Typical BMW. He wasn't moving and then as Pheobe was getting closer he pulled out without looking!! I'd be beeped and overtaken him personally. She may be learning, but she has a great point with other drivers.
Passing the test is straightforward, biggest advice though, when doing an observation like checking mirrors or emerging at a non light controlled junction, make sure you abruptly turn your head, this way the examiner will see that you have checked, failed my first test for not doing this, even though I did check from the corner of my eye , the examiner thought I didn't check so I failed
I've wanted a video like this for ages, this is definitely my weak spot. I can tell you how much space should be left in metres, but my perception of a space in real time is sometimes far off.
So many kids that think it's a piece of cake to pass.. but they have to learn how to actually drive safely over the years, they will learn the hard way if not 😊 Love the vids.. 37, no licence as not needed so far.. 😆
Episode sixteen now with Phoebe (i think, i Lost count)😅 Only saw this now you have her as a playlist on this channel which is nice. Hopefully she passes her up driving theory test before summer and has booked in her uk driving test in six month.😮 i hope to book my uk driving test (not my first attempt, i will be very patient with myself waiting six whole months) on Monday morning pin.😊 2024 will be the year me and her pass this.❤
I m born as a slower learner. it took me longer to drive. I have my full driving licence over 10 years and my own car. I never take a driving for granted. I don't drink or speed. no penalty points. sometimes I get emotional because I worked so hard just to learn how to drive
Adequate clearance mostly depends on the car you drive and how often you drive it. After 2 years after passing my test, things always look further away then you think. It's worse when your parking your car behind somebody else's then get out to find you can get nearly another car in the gap. This is why most experienced drivers fail their driving tests as they know how far things really are
Playing it back a few times and slowing down the video, you can see that guy was already stuck out ( 21.03 ) also as He starts moving Phoebe does go for the breaks. I think she did good there.
Hi DGN Driving! I’m a big fan of your channel. I’d love to one day go for a mock test with you. I’m an experienced driver having held my licence in the UK for over 18 years and driving lorry’s for 10 years! I’d really like to see how my driving standards are after all this time, see if I have picked up any bad habits along the way, and to learn if there is anything I can improve on. If you think this might be possible please get in touch! Thanks BrotherTruckerUK 😎👍🚛💨
Iv'e watched every single video phoebes done with dgn she's like a natural behind the wheel she also seems like such a nice girl and I don't mean that in a weird creepy way that's just how she comes across in these videos hope she passes 1st time
im gutted great up to the point of the car pulling out then went downhill just needs to work on her reactions but the car pulling out was not a learner that car driver never used the mirros which is important when pulling out it was to close for comfort

This is key to being a safe driver. You compensate for others' mistakes, don't get mad and make it a non-event.

in this generation, that impossible
It doesn't sound like justifying for ego reasons, it just sounds like she's explaining where her mind was at when she made the mistake.
safety is always important don’t wanna cause no accident

@@GGMatttThank you
Congrats, my pass was nowhere near as clean as yours (8 minors). You did well!

I passed a few days ago :) Part of the passed but still watched club. Thanks Pin for your videos they were immensely helpful!!
Congratulations and thanks for watching
Congrats! Me too, I passed in January but I still enjoy watching learning videos 😄
I've followed her journey from the start. Shes doing amazing. First time pass on the cards when she does her test. Well done phoebe x

Who did you have lessons with ?
Pin is a very generous mood and has even put away his Red pens for this one
Love the talk through at the start. Clearance faults have so much to do with what speed the candidate is doing when passing the parked cars

Passed with three minors today 🎉, your videos really helped❤
Congrats, I passed with 3 as well, 2 of those were dumb though.
big respect for you sir love to watch you videos i m getting more confident
At 21:06. That black car moved off when it wasn't safe. He should have checked his mirrors and blind spot

One thing I realise is she clutches too early when braking but it's not too bad
Yeah, riding it a bit in 1st at slow speed, poor car goes through it 😅.

She loves the camera

@@BLADE_RISE
She keeps looking at the camera
