I passed my test a week ago.. Still watching 😁 my driving licence came after 3 days. Feel so good knowing I've finally passed and all that extra weight is off my shoulders and no more spending on lessons
Congratulations! I passed my test on Friday and now waiting for my licence to arrive! Enjoy it and best wishes for your driving as a fully qualified driver! Please stay safe! 😁
This is why it's a good idea if possible to take your test in the same car you learned in. That way you are familiar with the controls and how it handles.
Yeah. I practiced on an a 1994 Nissan Sentra without power steering and took a driving test in a 2021 Toyota Vios. I was like "Dude! the heck. it feels like the steering wheel's not connected to anything" I almost overshot the turns because I was used to the heavy feeling of the old car especially when it's stationary.
Reminds me of my instructor's car and the car I bought. My instructors car had all the bling. The most prominent being the Reversing Camera, 360 top view camera, Hill Assist and the E-Brake "button" that auto disengage once the computer thinks that you have enough revs to move forward and that you are on a bite point and not Lever hand brake. Makes dealing with Hills a breeze and Parallel Parking a walk in the park (literally can parallel park under 10 seconds with the help of the cameras). I passed with 1 silly minor mistake. But then the first car I bought was a 70K Miles 2010 Ford focus Mark 2 Manual Diesel and it definitely need getting used too. About a week or so worth of not so long driving sessions each day driving alone. The car had an unusually high bite point (this is a thing for Ford MK2's). The lever handbrake on hillstarts needs getting used too (I stalled quite a few times in that first week, the maneuver of pulling that handbrake is foreign to me since my instructors car had a button to press or pull with a finger!). There are no camera's at all, so I had to park far away from everyone else to practice it. Until I got used to it. That is why it is vital that once you passed, you really need to start driving. It keeps the skills you attain fresh in your mind, and makes you learn more, the more you drive
There is a easier way to do hill start than using the handbrake, especially in a diesel car. Clutch and brake both pressed, handbrake off, what you gotta do is lift the cluch with the brake still pressed until the biting point of the clutch, then lift your brake and start accelerating while lifting the clutch fully.
This might help someone and it’s very important to remember, with the chevron markings bordered by white broken lines at 09:53 and with the hatched markings bordered by white broken lines at 12:21 there is a difference with the 2 different road markings, the chevron road markings means that traffic will be passing both sides of the chevron markings going in the same direction, the hatched road markings means that traffic will be passing both sides of the hatched markings going in opposing directions and of course, because both road markings are bordered by white broken lines you may enter the area if it’s necessary and safe to do so, if either are bordered by a solid white line then you must not enter the area except for in an emergency, you’re never allowed to cross a solid white line to enter chevron markings (except for in an emergency), there is one exception however with hatched markings with solid white lines, the only time you’re allowed to cross a solid white line to enter hatched markings is at the end of an overtaking lane where 2 lanes reduce to 1 and you’re crossing the solid white line to enter the hatched area for any of the reasons mentioned for double white lines (enter adjoining premises or a side road, passing a stationary vehicle, overtaking a pedal cycle, horse or road maintenance vehicle if they are travelling at 10mph or less.) Also, with hatched markings, the diagonal lines always point towards the direction of travel and drivers must keep to one side as there are opposing flows of traffic (two-way traffic), with chevron markings, the chevrons always point towards oncoming traffic when the driver can go either side as there is one-way traffic, but, always remember, with hatched markings and with chevrons, if there is a broken white line you shouldn’t enter unless it is necessary and safe to do so, if there is a solid white line you must not enter the area except for in an emergency, the only exception is, you’re allowed to cross a solid white line to enter a hatched area at the end of an overtaking lane where 2 lanes reduce to 1 lane and you’re crossing the solid white line to enter the hatched area for any of the reasons mentioned for double white lines (entering adjoining premises or a side road, passing a stationary vehicle, overtaking a pedal cycle horse or road maintenance vehicle travelling at 10mph or less), you’re never allowed to cross a solid white line to enter a chevron area unless it’s an emergency. 🙃
I've had a similar experience. Had lessons for over a year in the same car and then about 10 days before my exam (2nd try) my instructor got a new car. The clutch was a lot more sensitive and the engine less powerful so I had to get used to it quickly. Had to change my habits regarding gear selection, especially going up steep hills. Luckily, I had a friendly examiner who asked me if I'm worried about anything in particular and I mentioned it's a new car and I'm still getting used to it and I apogised in advance if it 'jerks' too much. Passed.
I needed to hear the part about not letting nerves get the best of you. That’s my issue right now, riding as a passenger is not anxiety-inducing. Behind the wheel is a monster for me.
Nice to have a mock test after a few weeks.😮 Thank you zara for coming on today.😅 Good Luck to her in her real test.❤ Selena, not Gomez in back seat.😊 Good experience for her driving a new car. Side camera on left side was good for this video.
How did Zara get a serious driving fault for wrong lane on that 2nd roundabout, going right, 3rd exit? There were no cars beside her and the lane change was safe. Not too long ago, Richard from Conquer Driving made a couple videos and he touched upon this very issue and said it was totally fine to change lane, if you happen to be on the wrong lane, as long as it done safely and early. I would love to hear Pin's thoughts on this! Another thing I noticed was that Pin tends to carry out the emergency stop on the go, instead of asking the learner to pull over, let her know of the exercise and explicitly warn her that only carry out the exercise only and when he puts his hand up and says "Stop!". Is this because it saves time or that asking the learner to pull over before the exercise may lead to losing the opportunity to carry out the exercise.
passed my test nearly decade ago. some how youtube decided to recommend this channel after i watched some European complaining about our road. but after i watch this, i dont think i could pass on theirs, too narrow, many hazards & parked cars on the roadside.
I bought your app Though i failed the first time as I was very nervous I passed the second time 🎉🎉🎉🎉 Please add a content to the course on how to calm nerves that is the only thing missing Thank you so much 😊
The problem with this learner, is they clearly don't have very good situational awareness, nor understand how a clutch works. Furthermore, when they set off, the observations done before hand aren't actual observations, you can see on the video she just glances and moves her head around, not actually looking. This is why we're seeing low quality driving from students, post-test. They aren't actually learning how to drive, rather how to pass a test.
Why not people go for Auto and make their and other's life easy ! World is progressing fast to new Tech but UK is still stuck behind with Manual cars ....
UK is not "stuck behind" as you allege. We have automatic cars here. A learner is at their will to learn in an automatic car if they wish. However their licence is only valid for an automatic car and not a manual car. Some people prefer manual cars to an automatic for various reasons! You are most likely still "stuck behind".
Not even watched 3 minutes of the video and I just thought…. Very weird and rude title, why humiliate someone like that in the title as click bait, furthermore not everybody does TH-cam and has a car that needs u to press both clutch and break pedal to start 😂 idk what’s wrong with u just tell her how to start the car and cut it out the video, and the hand break thing aswell. You got to let people know these things before hand ….
It's a mock test, the whole point is to be silent and let the driver figure things out for themselves. Only after a while of not doing something correctly should the instructor help, which is exactly what pin did And the title isn't exactly click bait because she really wasn't able to start the car, it's accurate lol. These videos are for both entertainment and for education so it makes sense why he kept that in tbh
@@csquared2055 can’t agree with this pal, most cars do not require you to start the car with a break and the clutch …. Most people who have licenses and have been driving wouldn’t know that, I wouldn’t have known that, so it’s unfair to include that in the title full stop …
@@YStizz I mean yeah it's a bit awkward to start the car but he likes to do this as a test anyway. I should also add that people who appear on the channel are completely fine with the titles and all that, otherwise the video wouldn't be uploaded to begin with
@@csquared2055 lad, are we watching the same videos, once the test starts and somebody doesn’t want him to upload it, he uploads it anyway, how many people have told him not to post or to edit something out 😂
Transitioning from your instructors car to any other manual car is like being a learner again 😅 my first car was a fairly new auto so didn’t have that feeling until I drove my dads and sisters manual car.
I think if she was a bit more confident and didn't struggle to start the car AND being on camera, she would have passed... She needs to believe in herself as she has nothing to worry about... (beautiful young lady) She barely looked at Pin when he spoke... I like the new camera setup on the outside showing how close the driver is to the kerb Pin, that's a great idea.

I passed in October 2023 and the time has flown by
Why is this not a full mock test? Missed out the manoeuvre and not the full duration a test should be!
I feel like wearing massive clunky shoes just makes it more difficult especially for a learner if they cant feel the bite. Flatter shoes are better
In my country you have to check your rear and side mirrors before a emergency stop
with electric handbrakes you don't even have to turn it off when moving, it turns off by itself, so you will never roll back at hill start
If I revved my instructors car like this he would have screamed his lungs out
This happened to me on my test out of nerves, but I quickly snapped out of it and passed first time on Friday with 6 minors!
