Yeah I did not know that at the Start as well :D and I was like "why the hell they did not gave any info about that" :D there are so manny hidden things in this game that can change everything by 180 :D Have fun and good luck in Anno! :D
Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have over 150h in Anno and I still haven't learned about influence points. I was keep losing world leader trait, which caused workforce shortages on my islands. Now I finally know how to fix that. PS. POLSKA GUROM
ha ha so ubisoft relies on youtubers to give informational tutorials glad you are here to share what you discovered been playing anno 1800 for months and never know bout this one now i gonna start over again
Thanks alot, one of the few really good videos about the "influence", I would love to se how more specific to max out the "Expansion" works. Cheers! :)
good thing this games explains how you get and what you can use influence in the early game......because for my first games i used all my influence to use propaganda even tho i didnt need to ,or spamming turrets because my ally ai declared war on the most powerful player on the map and i had no say in it whatsoever .....good job to the guy who designed the campaign that is suppose to teach the basics
Wille and Qing can easily be convinsed for a trade agreement in the campaign mode as they are 1 star. The old lady is harder. She is a 2 star rating and can be problematic to deal with. Should she declare war on u then simply building 2-3 def buildings at your harbor will keep her away most of the times. The few times she do attack your def will be stronger then her attack and add a few military ships in there are there is no risk atall of her attacks. Do not sign an alliance with any Ai unless u really want to as u could have a very good rating with all of them but they have bad rating with eachother so should they declare war on eachother u then will join in on the war with the ai u have an alliance with. Stay at trade aggrement unless u already at war.
Hey TheD S ! That is very sweet! :) I am very glad that I was able to help you as "Influence" topic is not explainted very good in the game and it is very important and actually easy thing to understand :) I hope you will find more interesting videos and tips on my channel :) Have fun with Anno and have a great 2021! Year :)
Hey @buenostardas ! :) So specific items has additional influence cost. So f.e. If you want to buy & place Trade Union it will cost f.e. 20 influence points, some Cash, 25 Wood & 5 Bricks. So once you will pace it. It will deduct that 20 influence points from your balance. Other important things on which you can spend Influence points are Ships, Defense Structures (Cannons), buy other islands shares. Have fun!
If you Will lose your ship you Will lose also those influence points in that influence category but those points also Will be returned to you, so you can spend them again (for example if ship costs 30pts then after you lose that ship - 30pts Will be deducted from Naval Category, but you Will gain +30pts to available influence :) so to regain that Admiral bonus you Will have to build another ship or spend those points on other item that is in that Admiral category :)
Hey @KingHazzens! Probably those islands sizes are not exceeding the first free points cap. (1 influence point i counted every 1000 tiles of conquered Island) so just conquer and get more islands and those points will start showing up and all buffs will finally get unlocked. Bigger island = more tiles = more points to Expansion Category. :) Have fun! :)
Hey StoneEdges - The expansion path will unlock once you will take over 2nd Island as points in this category counts automatically, calculating how much land you have. It will add 1 point every 1000 tiles you own (Not counting your starting Island). You can also get points by building Commuter Piers and Buying Shares from other players islands.
@@pablo1713 thank you for your answer! So if I understand you correctly, I don’t have to manually assign points into those paths but they will fill up automatically if I meet the criteria?
@@StoneEdges Yes, all those categories are filling up automatically. Buffs also will be added automatically once unlocked also there will be a pupup about IT :) Thanks to that table you will be able to see and plan what you need to buy/build/do to get specific buff :) have fun! ! :)
I have over 10 million in coins, and enough specialist to fill 10 town halls and trade unions but only 15 influence . Not sure how I can overcome this, just keep building population?
Yeah, very stupid mechanic honestly. Influence points SHOULD be earned by trading and having trade/alliance/non-aggression pact with the AI, also by destroying Pirates, because Pirates, if you destroy their island they come back eventually, so they could be good option to 'farm' influence. Also AI ignores influence points, and they just go and settle islands that i want, because i dont have enough influence points to settle them -_-
It could be easily fixed, for example, if you go with your AI ally and attack/or defend yourself and AI, you get influence points. Or if you attack unprovoked AI or your ally, you loose influence points. Easy. Happy population should give you influence points, unhappy should remove influence points. Failing quest should remove influence points, completing it should gave you influence points...really easy to patch, but its Ubisoft, it must be always complicated.
This game. Just when im cruising 4mil no worry. Propergandrr all the way 3x consumerism. But now i cant gain influence. Its a dumb mechanic. Im scrambling right now to get limestone and zinc which is annoying. Hopefully once investors unlock i can resume building ships? Surly there's no ship cap? I have afew but not tons imo.
Hi there! I have 425 influence points and I cannot use it at all, but even if I build or do anything that point just does not decrease. I tried to build a trade union, zoo and a museum they are not free and I am making zero process on the bonus page. Can anyone plz help me !!!
Yes, that IS how it works, you get influence points by reaching population goals and also by upgrading your houses to investors lvl which gives +2 influence points per each building :) and Unfortunately there are no other ways :(
hmm that is weird but remember that first few elements (for zoo, museum and botanical garden) are for "free" so they don't cost any influence points which also means that they will not give you any points in Culture category. But after that "free" elements pool they will start to cost 10 influence points every new module you will build. So check if f.e. zoo modules cost any influence points if not this means that they are still free so you are still in "free pool" :) but if they cost influence points and they are not added to your culture category then it has to be somekind of bug & maybe post it on ubisoft Anno forum as they will try to solve it in patch :)
Influence points have major flaw, because AI completely ignores that apparently, and trading should and also relations with AI should GIVE you more influence points to spend on anything, because for example, i dont want or need additional upgrade for my residents, because for example i settled small island to get resources i need, and that resource needs only worker class citizens, so i stop upgrading houses, because i dont need them, so i dont need investors citizens upgrade. They should gave us more things to do to add more influence points. It makes game obsolete when i dont have enough influence points to settle islands, and AI just comes and settle them instead of me, its very stupid mechanic, it makes competition against AI obsolete. I would probably change that mechanic with mods or cheats.
Its 3:25 In the video - you Will get points In this category whenever you: #1 conquer New Island, #2 Build Commuter Piers and #3 Buy Share on AI Islands (but this is not worthy way), Best is to Just get New Islands and you Will get some points In that category (the bigger the Island the more points you Will get) :) Good luck & have fun!
@@pablo1713 I didn't figure it out that there are 3 possible ways to get it, the symbol of the "island" looks like in the building option of the harbor... Thank you so much. And if you have an empty island do you still get that amount of bonus?
