- A behind the scenes look at the process of creating 'Welcome to Airbnb'. The film was shot through a small camera mounted on the model train in a single, 60-second take. All external movements are mechanical, not animated or done in post-production. All the different transitions that were hand operated had to be incredibly coordinated. It was a well-orchestrated effort to ensure that the 9 people who did several jobs at once were able to either fold things up before, or tilt things over and rotate things to ensure the one perfect take.

Usually commercials don't impress me but this one blows me away. 85 takes and it was all done in one perfect take.

Wonderful!! We watched the finished video first and wouldn't have imagined that they did this for real. All in one take! Excellent! Well, after 85 tries they said. But, wow! And it's neat to see that the lights on the buildings at night are projections. Great work!

Simply beautiful. I had to watch several times to appreciate the details. I just wish the camera depth was more deep and we had sharp focus on most of the scenes at the same time. That will probably make things look more grand, and less model-like.

I love the film and i like how much creativity is pput into this, but...
It also shows the money, that this system generates. Juslt like "uber" - this system generates these hig margins by degregulation and in most cases tax evasion. E.g in Germany you would have to pay income tax on the income else you commit tax evasion.also in many citys you need a permit for "commercial rental".
So the business case of AirBnB includes savings of deregulation and tax evasion this saving is split between the three: AirBnb, host and guest. This reduces the tax income of all countries where airbnb, leading to rising tax on other parts of the economy and private households. So in the end others pay for the savings and by ths way the tax payer has indicetly and unwillingly financed this nice video. It's like a nice castle we visit on a trip through england: looks nice and contains incedible carvings and a impressive weapon collection - but was only possible because many people lived in poverty and starving, allowing others to create this richness.
That adds a very foul taste to the otherwise incredible video.

what scale is that? HO? OO? O? S? Looks a bit small to be G, although that would be the easiest scale to do a setup like this with.

Acctually it's being imaginative and creative, there's no skill to a computer doing it all.
...and would look like any other boring commercial out there? No! This is a little masterpiece. You see it, you feel it - next to it every computer generated image looks cold and dead. This is really beautiful!
