The wahine (woman) gave thanks to kumu Hina by chanting in Hawaiian culture what is known as Oli Mahalo. It is our cultural way to mahalo one another or give thanks. Kumu Hina then chanted back giving her aloha. Auwe, Corey! Kumu Hina... not Kuma. Kumu means teacher, while kuma means mouse in Hawaiian or bear in Japanese. This is a most unfortunate oops.
