Might be unpopular opinion but sun & moon is my fav pokemon anime. (mostly for several characters like Lillie's family and Kukui and Burnet) It also had fantastic ending. The art style just bugs me.
I agree…the art style isn’t great, mostly for Ash, Misty, and Brock. It can be super cool sometimes, like in the last episode they didn’t make the crying over the top, so it was actually sad instead of goofy trying to be sad.
I reckon fans saw the potential it could have had, not to mention on the 20th anniversary of the franchise they were expecting it to end with a bang, but much like the Disney Centenary they felt disappointed.
